Falkner stood on a boulder seeing a clearing where a herd of behemoths were grazing. I thought it would be nothing but trees but I guess I Was wrong
“aw look at the babies” Nyssa said pointing
“that's great” Falkner replied not paying attention “lets just go around before they see my armor and try to kill us” Falkner said getting down from the bolder Nyssa jumped off of it
“but I wanted to see the baby behemoths some more”
“Will sightsee later,” Falkner promised, heading towards where the moas were tied up
“Fine,” Nyssa said with a frown as he untied the bridle from the tree.
“I can’t but feel unease about the whole place” Falkner said half to himself rubbing his chin
“Me too by the way you should shave again” Nyssa said tossing him her small mirror while he was shaving by the nearest tree. me too ya it doesn't look like it it's hard to believe she’s older than me. She acts younger than Lily. It feels like a lifetime ago since I’ve been home since we've been home. All I had to worry about was my arranged marriage after Falkner was done and washed his face in a nearby stream. They mounted and rode towards the looming mountain. It was alone but with smaller ones just behind it. I wonder what they're thinking of us right now John must be worried sick. Lily must be furious that the man she wanted left her without a goodbye letter or anything. The king must be angry as well I wonder. if Brith got in trouble I can’t think about home right now I have to be on the lookout besides Nyssa won’t be so I have to pick up the slack. When Nightfall came and they set up their tents and built a fire for himself to stay warm since Nyssa didn’t need it. He kept putting on logs to make the fire bigger. Nyssa grabbed Falkner by the arm
“Not too many we don’t want a beacon to signal our location” Nyssa said firmly putting the log down. they ate in silence hard bread, cheese, and dried meat since he could not hunt since Falkner found nothing but behemoths witch they were far too big for the two of them
“The moon’s full tonight” Nyssa whispered which made him look up at the full moon. Its silvery light fell on the trees giving them an almost ghostly light. After dinner Falkner went to bed as Nyssa took watch.
In the morning they packed up, put on their armor just in case and mounted to continue the journey. the trees became closer together. As they rode through and twice their packmoas got stuck on a branch or the rope got tangled and had to use their swords to cut the branches.
The sound of running water caught Falkner's attention. oh good we can refill our water skins as he got closer the sound got much louder. It must be a river and a large one at that Falkner once out into a small clearing. a river thirty feet across flowing down the north nothing but trees could be seen in either direction Nyssa was looking into the river while he refilled his water skins after that Nyssa handed her water skins and quickly moved on and trotted for about an hour before smoke could be seen and soon stumbled down a hill.

finding themselves a large camp of about twenty goblins where sitting around a fire roasting hunks of moa. two men were tied to a large oak tree and something he could not tell besides it wasn't human. Upon seeing the scene Nyssa gave a battle cry sword drown and charged at the nearest goblin. giving away their position
“wait!” Falkner cried before giving up and charging, sword drawn and shield ready cursing the whole way. It's a good thing we wore our armor today. Nyssa slashed and stabbed and soon Falkner joined the fray. stabbing throats slashing shoulders but soon their shock went away and they threw their spears at them. when their armor was to tough for their stone weapons they attacked the moas and Falkner jumped off of him before his moa was killed rising up out the snow my heart beating like a drum Nyssa was still fighting slashing a goblin's face before a rock came out of nowhere and hit Stormbreaker in the neck dropping dead it was to big to have been thrown by a mere goblin, a troll was walking towards them with a grin. With a screen Falkner charged to buy time for Nyssa to get up stabbing and parrying, but he was being forced back, throwing a line of fire to keep them at bay.
throwing their shields on their backs Nyssa grabbed a sack of food and a water skin as did Falkner as they ran as hard as they could away towards the mountain. blindly into dense brush. The leafless branches were getting in the way but not bothering to get out of the way and Falkner’s cheek got cut deep as the blood dripped down his face. All he could think was no time, there's about fifteen goblins in pursuit after they could run no more Falkner collapsed behind a large tree Nyssa stopped as well laying on her side, placing what they could carry down which includes one pair of clothes each five days worth of food, two days worth of water, a hunting knife and Falkner’s razor for shaving. once he could breathe again
“What were you thinking! Did you think we could take on a horde of goblins by ourselves!”
“Did you see those two men? We had to rescue them” Nyssa shouted
“and look how that got us and they are still going to die. Why don’t you ever think instead of doing whatever your emotions feel!” Falkner said bent over patting
“you never feel. you're afraid to show your emotions, your eyes are always cold instead of having passions just like when you were a child”
“What does this have to do with anything!” Falkner shouted Nyssa went on ignoring him
“don’t you understand why I tease you? When you were accidentally let your passions get the better of you once and burned your mother and after that I saw a child afraid of his own emotions so I tried to help but you never should any emotion that is why no one can reliant to you”
“I don’t care right now, we need to move now!” Falkner said, she is hopeless picking up a water skin and a sack of food over his shoulder. as they walked Falkner could not remember the story Nyssa said could it be true was I cold and emotionless. no. listening to Nyssa will get me killed faster. she is just trying to not think about Stormbreaker. great now I’ll have to be there for her. walking the rest of the way uphill in the snow blood leaking down his face
“Let's rest on top of the hill,” Falkner said Nyssa nodded as they collapsed up against a tree trunk, the cold bark chilly.
“I can’t believe Stormbreaker is gone. In one moment he was alive and in another moment he's gone.” Nyssa said on the edge of tears, putting his arm around her and holding her close for comfort. it's her fault but I better keep that to myself. How could I with her crying on my shoulder and one thought remains, how are we going to get more food? We don't have enough to scale the mountain; the only sound was Nyssa soft crying as the sun began to set.
