Fyuma held Krus’ tiny hands while walking her happily, Krus’ smiling face making Fyuma relax and be relieved. “When we get there, let’s get you a barbeque.” Despite the beastmen being quite a tribal species, surprisingly they have very advanced kingdoms.
Because beastmans usually lives in forest, this one is called mist forest and the whole forest is their territory despite being a town. They abuse the terrain making the opponents confused before attacking them.
It’s how they usually defend their homes and territories. A nice tactic. Although when it comes to extremely advanced, it would be dwarfs. Dwarfs are intelligent species blessed by the God Of Technology, Ferlas.
They are usually quiet, and more on the business side, which in turn avoids wars with them since the three races both benefit from the dwarves. And then there’s another race, Atruestics. Although nobody knows of them they went extinct 3000 years ago.
It’s kind of hard to get a copy of all about Atruestics, but the orphanage that I grew up in had them. It was an old ragged book, the book itself had papers that were torn apart, getting a little information from them.
The page on where they describe its appearances were gone, but I could still vividly remember that they were majestic creatures that soared above the sky, I can only guess they were bird people or angels.
To answer the question on how a 300 year old book exists in such an orphanage is because the orphanage and the river are connected, they have a long history you see. The kingdom of Guhs, was the kingdom I grew up in.
Meaning the orphanage that trained us to be soldiers is located in the Kingdom of Guhs, although the kingdom is ruined and destroyed, and is simply history now. The kingdom of Guhs is actually a pretty old and prospering kingdom until a certain king, which was a failure, arrived and became king.
People believed in his lies that covered up his true personality, eventually leading to the kingdom being corrupted and slowly dying as time continued, after the king’s death, the kingdom barely had any resources left to recover, and because of the decline of economy, most people started to migrate to other towns and kingdoms.
And then they were struck by the last arrow leading to their heart, which was the Great War, in order to defend themselves, the kingdom used most of its resources and riches to defend it, but to no avail, eventually leading to the downfall of said kingdom.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
The kingdom of Guhs were supposedly a kingdom that works with Atruestics you see, and it has existed for 4000 years, and it only ended now.
Economy in both humans and elves is declining real fast, the population in the whole world is low because of the unjust wars, both sides didn’t even hesitate to kill the innocents, destroying and taking everything.
The current king of the capital, Garyus, the representative of humans is simply an old fool who does nothing but observe, and observe and observe, telling to the people that observing is gaining knowledge and knowledge is power.
But what’s that knowledge if you don’t even act, in the end he’s just a koala with a crown and sitting on a throne.
The queen of the elves, Juliet the high elf, according to her she is working hard, but really nothing is changing. She’s simply too stingy to use more of the resources and fortune the kingdom has to rebuild the kingdom and to make it prosper.
You have bigger ears than a normal person and yet you’re still deaf against the cries of help from the people.
Then there’s the king of the beastman, a literal huge monster who, according to the people, is rebuilding the kingdom, unfortunately he isn’t actually doing anything and is just training more soldiers, telling them that they need soldiers in case the humans attack again.
No they won't, they don’t have resources, and the kingdom above war is what you’re supposed to be focusing on. A literal huge chunk of muscles, but no brain, all brawn.
It’s to the point that the kingdoms are slowly being destroyed by themselves because they don’t have logistics.
I sighed while observing the dire situation of this world, at this rate, the world would be destroyed by its own inhabitants. Then again, although the Gods do give blessing, all they want is entertainment from us.
“Oi, human!”
“I have a name, by the way.” I replied while turning my head to Fyuma who was glaring at me. “Anyways, what did you want?” I asked while setting up a tent for Krus. It was night time somehow, according to her it would take one more day, because she forgot to bring her horse.
“Help me out.” Fyuma said while Krus was on the side of the campfire playing with her fingers? Fyuma’s glare softened up for a bit while I only sighed. “Hurry…”
“Fine…” I said with reluctance present in my voice while I slowly approached her, “Yeah so?” I stared at what she was doing right now, what the-? Fyuma’s face was beet red while she stared at the cauldron on the campfire.
“I messed up…” Fyuma’s voice melted into one of apologetic one while I took a look of the ‘stew’ that she made. It was purple, okay, there are purple stews like the pig orc stew, but she used beef.
The smell is also unbearable, what the hell did she do to make it like this? I raised up my finger, and tapped the air. “Inspect.” The tip of my fingers brightened up. Inspect, a simple magic that gathers information from the object and shows it to you.
Fyuma’s cooking:
Threat Level: S
Not edible:
Contents: I don’t know, that thing is both overcooked and undercooked, Krux please help me, I want to stay away from it.
But the inspector isn’t even a sentient being, how the hell? “Burn it.” I said coldly while my eyes glared at the stew with disgust, Fyuma’s eyes widened after hearing said words.
“Oi!” Her annoyed exclamation came out from the side of my ears. I immediately covered my ears while cringing at the volume of her voice.
“What did you even see? I assume it’s not even that bad, it just has a different color!” Her voice seemed to be lying to herself while she glanced at the stew from time to time.
I removed my hands from my ears while staring at the absolute garbage which is her stew, although he wouldn’t say that out loud. “This isn’t even edible!” My voice exclaimed.
“It is edible, it’s stew, I used edible ingredients. Take a bite!” Fyuma’s hand immediately reached out for the ladle that was just near the cauldron, her hands moved in a swift motion, yet to my eyes it seemed very slow.
The ladle sunk deep within the stew and scooped up a mouthful of it before the ladle in her hands tried to make contact with my lips. “Ain’t no way you expect me to taste that!”
“E- a- t - i -t!” My hands grabbed her hands while pushing her away, although he’s supposed to be stronger, are these the side effects of being near her cooking!? My hand struggled to keep the ladle away from my mouth.
“N-No!” My voice stuttered, for the very last time since the Great War I felt extreme fear while the purple stew in the ladle continued to keep getting closer and closer to my mouth.
“What are they doing?” I heard Krus innocently speak while the ladle was like 5 centimeters before my mouth.
“Oh gods, no, no, NO!!!!” Fyuma’s ladle then struck deep within the mouth of Krux, the hot stew on his mouth felt like a bubbly and thick liquid in my mouth, it was sticky, the texture was similar to mucus while my face started to go purple.
The next thing I felt was unbearable spiciness coursing through my body while I could feel like puking, yet for some odd reason my body didn’t allow me to release whatever the hell is inside my mouth, my face’s then turned red while I could feel all the strength in my legs slip away.
I stumbled back a bit, going a few steps back. My hearing was reduced to a sudden ear piercing ring, while I could only hear Fyuma mumble, my eyesight was simply a blur while I saw Fyuma’s worried face.
“A- AGauHHUGUH!” I made an inaudible sound while I could feel a sudden heat cover my body while my insides were going cold, the stew was both salty, spicy, sweet and sour while my whole body started to shake.
Even the Krus was now right beside me wondering if I’m fine, my body couldn’t take it anymore and my vision immediately went black.

A new skill gained! - Fyuma’s cooking resistance Lv.1
I don’t know if I should be happy, but I woke up with another skill gained, which was this weird resistance. Dear god, I couldn’t even eat last night, not only that my head still ached from eating her cooking.
This ability managed to help it subside a bit, but really, the poison which was her cooking was still evident in my stomach “I thought I was going to die…”
