Keilan: “I say we go scouting.”
The eight had all taken refuge in one of the hut, and were now holding a meeting to discuss the occuring events.
Kaen: “I don’t like that idea. I want to get out of this place as soon as possible.”
Oden: “We can’t blindly trust the information given to us. Before we gather any more information, we should do as Keilan says. Some intelligence gathering of our own won’t hurt us.”
Kaen had a disapproving expression on his face, and walked out of the cabin without saying a word.
Aria: “I’ll check on him.”
Aira tugged her shirt, and everyone looked at her. She made a few gestures with her hand, and Aria smiled.
Aria: “She wants everyone back in here in five hours.”
Oden: “That sounds good.”
As Aria walked out to chase Kaen, Oden began to speak again, his commanding voice bringing all attention towards him.
Oden: “It would be best for us to travel in pairs. This way, we can acquire the most information with a lower risk compared to exploring alone.”
Keilan got up as well, heading towards the door.
Keilan: “Leave me out of that idea. I’m going out by myself.”
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
He left without a word, and Oden gave this a moment of thought.
Oden: “It might be beneficial to have one person waiting here as well, just in case Romulus or another Lycan decides to check back.”
Toren: “I can take care of such a task. I have no wish to go on another adventure at this current moment.”
Aira made a motion with her hand. Even though he normally couldn’t understand Aira, her inward gesture made it clear to Sorn that she also wished to remain in the cabin.
Crystal: “She doesn’t want to leave either.”
Oden: “Very well. Crystal and Sorn, how do you feel?”
Crystal: “I never would have imagined there were places as big as the Fortress outside. Of course I want to explore!”
Oden: “I think we’ve seen far crazier personally. And you Sorn?”
Sorn: “I don’t really care.”
Oden: “Alright, you stay here. I’m going to check something out and then we’ll leave Crystal.”
Crystal: “Sounds good to me.”
As Oden left as well, the hut became a lot quieter. Sorn raised an eyebrow at Toren, causing Toren to give a nervous look back. Crystal was busy making gestures with Aira.
Toren: “So, Crystal-”
Crystal: “Oh yeah! Toren. I had a favor to ask of you.”
Toren: “Oh, yes of course.”
Crystal: “I think Keilan might be something unhinged.”
Sorn: “What makes you say that?”
Crystal: “I’m not sure, but there’s definitely something strange about him. Which means he’ll probably do something rash. Regardless, since you’re really good at following people, Toren, I want you to do that with him. Just make sure he stays out of trouble.”
Toren: “It would be my pleasure.”
Sorn: “I think you’ll want to hurry though. He’s been out for a while.”
A few minutes after Toren left, Oden came stumbling back in. Attached to his leg was a Lycan child. A young half-wolf girl that was hanging from his leg.
Crystal: “Looks like you’ve made a new friend.”
Aira made some hand signs that Crystal translated.
Crystal: “Aira thinks she’s adorable.”
Adorable was certainly a way to put it. The child had a devious expression, a sign of a true troublemaker. Black ears emerged from the top of her dark hair. She also appeared to be sleeping.
Oden: “I was going to check back on that weird body of water we all landed in. I thought it was strange that it existed considering this place is still filled with snow. But in the middle, this creature jumped onto my leg and wouldn’t let go no matter what I’d do.”
Crystal once again communicated Aira’s signals.
Crystal: “She says it’s okay, she will go out with Sorn instead of us two.”
Sorn looked at Aira, surprised she had chosen him instead of Crystal. He had never gotten particularly close with her, so he felt somewhat flattered by the gesture.
Sorn: “That’s okay with me too.”
Oden: “Yeah you guys go. We’ll find some way to free my leg again.”
As Sorn walked out of the hut followed closely by Aira, he realized a fatal issue with this plan. He had no way of understanding anything Aira said, so he was practically unable to communicate. Or at least he couldn’t understand her thoughts, considering she was very good at reading lips.
Sorn: “Well, let’s go?”
Aira gave a simple nod, and they began to walk away from the hut to find something or someone of use.
End.
