One cube had a symbol akin to the snake eating itself, and the other cube had the symbol of a diamond.

These will be stabled now. They observed the cubes stopped flickering out of reality as they concentrated on it. Time to fuse it all and let's hope it does what it needs to. They placed the 3 cubes into a small dome and pressed a button. The three cubes floated, started all flickering in synchronized fashion, spinning extremely fast. They were conjoining into one space, and then the process stopped. The dome released whatever pressure it had generated. A single cube was found, showing a symbol - a circle containing an ouroboros with a diamond overlay.

This is it, they tried sitting on floating chair groaning, this is all I can do, all that is left is to find the one who is worthy. They solemnly looked at a picture showing a bunch of people including themselves celebrating something they have had long forgotten. I can finally join them.

Their eyes dulled, and they took their last breath, as a single cube launched itself out of the dome.

The single cube looked around the small white room and found a single entity - DISEASED.

It had found itself in space, looking upon a broken planet slowly being absorbed into a black hole.
