You can slow down time to any degree you want, you are unable to die, and you are unkillable. Save, Worthy one, Save -
Ken woke up in a hospital gasping for air. He looked around, found himself in a white room, smelling medicine in the air. What happen? He tries to internalize his compass.
As the door opened, a doctor came in.
"Hello, do you remember your name?" The doctor right away asked.
"Ken." Ken responded, trusted the doctor was in fact a doctor.
"Do you know who's our current King is?" The doctor asked once more.
"King Valeut" Ken responded without any sort of hesitation; he was surprised himself he knew the answer; he didn't show it though.
"Do you know where you are?"
"Hospital?" Ken responded in a questionable tone.
"Yup, you are in a hospital, you have had been unconscious for nearly 2 days. We thought you were dead on arrival, but we found your heart still beating - and your body was miraculously healing itself at a rapid rate - restoring limbs you had lost. We inferred you had an evolution of your healing ability."
"Evolution?"
"Yup, based on information provided by the Federation, you were initially awakened with healing factor that allowed you heal much faster than others, but it didn't make sense at the rate your body was healing. That's why we inferred evolution of your healing factor. But you'll find out more, with time."
"Thank you"
"Thank your healing ability, given the state you were in. Although, I am glad you are quite well now." The doctor left the room.
Ken sighed in relief, looking around finding himself in a private room. Sure hope, I am not footing the bill.
"There has been emergency report of breach coming in within the defense barrier..." Audio coming from a TV that caught Ken's attention.
"Hunter's Guild have focused their attention, trying to close the breach. Currently there are 2 B rank hunters in the breach - clearing out the usual. We do not have the live feed video within the breach. The 2 hunters life tracking feed is available - Joe and Victor Studium."
Ken's focus was interrupted by a gentleman entering the private room. His timely suit, with a white-gold logo attached to his right pocket square symbolizing the letter B.
For whatever reason to Ken, he for whatever felt intuitively he could slow everything around him - so he did. The gentlemen walking speed slowed down, the audio from the tv drawled - then everything felt muted. Ken looked arounds; he feels a moment of peace. He hadn't in a long itme.
He normalized the time, the audio came back in, the gentleman walking speed resumed. He introduced himself.
"Hello Ken, my name is John Longbottom, I a B rank hunter specializing recruitment. How are you feeling?" He forwarded his hand for a handshake.
"Hey, not too bad, how are you?" Ken replied politely.
"Good thank you. I am here to talk you into about joining our guild - The Red Fang."
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"Ahh, but I am not a hunter yet." Surprised by the mention of the joining guild.
"That's fine, we are always on the lookout for new talents - and we found that you have an evolved form healing. Please look over our offer, we will support with your hunter's exam if you choose join us."
"Oh okay, let me take a look at it." Ken grabbed the offer letter.
Ken looked through the offer, it was standard contract for lower D rank hunters. He knows it because he always dreamed of joining a guild after he becomes a hunter - he researched it. Joining the guild, for a stable, large salary with benefit with 10 years lock. Given what he knows with his current ability, he can get a lot more - so much more. He knows his ability to slow down time and his healing factor, he is more capable - once he has trained himself.
Typically, a standard contract for C ranks hunter, where abilities relating to healing, they get paid roughly 100k dollars, which is way above the standard of living. However, the hunter tends to be at disadvantageous themselves from the contract from limited autonomy to paying for services that should be provided by the guild. The industry has already been developed so far along, that it is hard to establish a guild yourself. Smaller guild tends to be bought out when they go public for funding purpose.
"No thank you. I won't be accepting this offer. I don't believe this. "
"What can we offer to ensure you'd accept."
Ken slowed down time. He didn't care for the time liability, where he sticks with the guild for however amount of years. He knows others with healing factor, that can live much longer while retaining their youth - but still, he doesn't feel obligated to be tied down.
I want to be comfortable at this moment. Also get training in combat, well I can do that myself. The hunter guild still provides flat fee for closing breach and get some fee for the different monsters' parts. I want to become. So, what do I want? I don't know, strong? Okay, let's take a step back. What I can do - put me beyond the standard contract. Way beyond. So, let's ask, they would either live to regret their decision, or win with this decision. But for me, there's no place but up. Time to sock it.
Ken resumed the time.
"So, although I appreciate the offer you have had placed in front me, and I know that I have had not proven myself beside reviving myself from my near-death state, which shows that my healing factor is way beyond the realm of top-tier." Ken paused to look at John, who was not showing any emotions.
Ken continued "I don't mind the 10-year lock, because what I am requesting that my salary to be at the minimum of 1-billion-dollar salary per year and 10 percent ownership of the company. I know that your Guild is the top 500 guild in the world, and you made the effort to come to me, which I do appreciate. To reciprocate, I am guaranteeing your guilds rise to number 1. If you do decide to employ me, now, today, your guaranteed is 100 percent."
I lose nothing if they don't accept it. Should they accept it, I don't lose anything also -haha I am crazy. What?!. Ken has been reading too many motivational books from the library.
John's attitude shifted a bit "Ken - be reasonable. Your demands, they are not going to approve. You need to be the reincarnate of the great Hunter Leon."
"What if I am someone greater the Hunter Leon, but you'd have to trust me."
"I see. Well, let me call the guild master." John went to the side and gave a call.
He is just doing it as a courtesy. I can't prove anything, but I can guarantee my strength. Well, I was nice enough.
"I've talked with the guild master, and they in the nicest way possible, declined. I wish you best of luck." John bowed and started heading towards the exit.
Oh, no room for negotiation, kind of expecting that. Still hurts - oh my ego, whatever that I was had today. Ken frowned a little bit.
Ken immediately said to John who was about exit, "I know you didn't try your hardest to convince the guild master, and that will be on you. I know, I cannot prove anything to you now. Just know that I would be asking other guilds the same thing and all I wanted was an immediate answer of acceptance. Tomorrow, I will not be accepting any guild offers. Every guild will have had their chance to support me today."
John left. Other recruiters have entered throughout the day, Ken always countered it with the offer. No other guilds even asked for time to think about it, they denied it straight out. These were some of the Top guilds throughout the world.
The doctor came in and said -
"You are free to go. You are all healed now. You do not need to worry about any bills - courtesy of hunter's guild."
"Thank you, doctor." Ken said as he was already getting ready to leave. He looked at the time - it was close to early afternoon.
Time to head towards the hunter's corp office.
