Chapter 3: Begging fate! Breaking fate! Part 1

floating planet Yin Long within the main hall of the Xuanze mansion throne room

Seated in a serious manner was the current head of the Xuanze family, Toulan Xuanze.

His eyes narrow, his demeanor cold he was faintly emitting a cold qi that had begun seeping into the atmosphere of the main hall. He looked extremely ruthless, coupled with his pitch black hair and black olive eyes, right now he looked like anything but a merchant.

Across the throne was two young boys, one was Wenrou and the other was Jie.

Wenrou to the right and Jie to his left, Wenrou held his head low, looking at the marble floor. Unbeknownst to Wenrou he had developed a father complex since he was young. This came about the time shortly after he found out he had no seed. Wenrou was unable to look his father in the eye for more than a few breaths at a time, this was brought about by his inferiority complex which resulted in a father complex. He especially knew how proud his father was of Jie, a talented boy since birth. How could he compare in the future?

Even though Wenrou never took peoples heed about how weak he will be without a seed, however that was just a front, Wenrou wasn't soft.. he knew of these things. He just never came to terms with them! He didn't want to!

To the left of Wenrou was Jie, he as always looked extremely excited and happy, with his head constantly bopping up and down. He knew whenever his father had called him and Wenrou together to the main hall usually ended up in receiving gifts, or money to go spend in the city with their friends.

Jie was still a child, he was unable to read the atmosphere in the room, how could he perceive such cold detached atmosphere that had long lingered in this room since entering?

Behind the boys was greyhound, he too had his head tilted down with his eyes closed soaking in the atmosphere and coming to terms with what must be done. Greyhound is an old man breaking a child's heart, blowing up their bubble, would make any man regardless of age feel disgusted in themselves. It was a very distinct type of pain in his heart, a pain that wouldn't leave for a long time.

Greyhound, whose tutored these kids, looked after them since birth, protected them he would have to bury his heart in ice today, he would have to do what must be done. As he thought about this he would clench his jaw tighter and tighter!

Toulans gaze lingered around Wenrou for a brief moment, he had noticed long ago that Wenrou had never looked him into his eyes he would always avert gazes as soon as possible. Sometimes when Toulan would engage in conversation with Wenrou randomly to get him to talk to him, Wenrou would subconsciously move to a different part of the room, or to a different room and finish speaking before disappearing. Noticing all this, Toulan had come to assumption that Wenrou had hated him for as long as he could remember, but he later realized with the deductive prowess of Greyhound that Wenrou slightly felt inferiority, he felt unworthy of having Toulan as a father, or being related in anyway.

Toulan was the first to break the silence by speaking. First Toulan turned his gaze towards Jie and occasionally on greyhound, he begun stating facts in a continuous manner without leaving room for anybody to object or speak "Jie, you are almost seven years old. The school acceptance day is drawing close, do you wish to become a supreme warrior a warrior able to wield the wild elements and Qi, arm yourself with a sharp blade and companions and protect the conclave of planets from the ever growing calamity?"

The sudden emergence of the words "acceptance day" made Wenrou clench his right fist extremely tight, his slight nails had broke the skin of the palm, digging in a little. Greyhound to the rear turned his head towards Wenrou, he could smell the faint blood running along Wenrous finger he knew today's outcome was going to leave a heavy atmosphere in the mansion, it would leave the head with an extremely heavy heart after today.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Jie looked shocked and amazed for a moment. Jie was never really told about his talent, so he had no idea he looked incomparably happy his body almost jumped at the words his father produced. his eyes began to glitter brighter and brighter, his mouth unexpectedly grew to half the size of his face right now you could see all his teeth, tongue and tonsils clearly!

Toulan seeing this expressions smiled slightly, he thought to himself that this child is pure, his mother would be extremely proud and happy if she could see Jie right now.

Toulan reverted his gaze back to being ruthless, he looked at the bopping head of Jie and added quickly "Jie you know your mother died giving birth to you, she had been injured before the due date of your birth had been reached, which in return resulted in an early birth."

Jie upon hearing these sudden words, his face slightly dimmed some of the earlier bright face had become a little sullen he too slowly dropped his head like it was drifting in wind and looked at the floor.

Jie could only see a dark silhouette in the marble floor, and he didn't understand what he was thinking at that moment, too much was rushing through his brain, he had a hint of watery eyes. He slowly lifted his head. He stared directly at his father ready to listen to more. He resolved himself to listen to it all.

Toulan laid back onto the throne, whilst reminiscing about the past he continued in a slightly quieter tone "your mother and I knew at that time that there was not much to be done, it would either be her or your life that would disappear on that evening. But you know Jie? Your mother is an extremely strong women. Before the Doctor had presented her with the choice she had already cried your name, and begged for you to be saved at any cost.. She was the best thing that happened to me, we were both lucky to have her in our lives."

Wenrou off to the side could see his brother sad, he was on the verge of crying his eyes were watery bubbles. Wenrou wanted to console him, but when he opened his mouth he didn't know what words to say in such a situation.. he just closed his mouth and continued listening.

Toulan leaned forward at this moment, with both his elbows on his thigh and both his rugged hands in the form of a fist holding his head up from below his chin, it seemed he couldn't keep his serious manner for too long, this was his limit!

Greyhound seeing this sighed inwardly, these two sons took after their father they just played all day, never taking an interest in the family business and responsibilities.

Toulans voice started of a little weak, but quickly regained his earlier strength with a slight cough "Jie you have good talent, actually you are extremely talented but this talent came at the cost of your mothers life. If you decide to become a warrior, you must unceasingly train, because your do not carry just your will, you carry your mothers as well!"

Right at this moment both greyhound, and Toulan wanted to see the resolution of this young boy. Determination and resolve would go a long way in aiding him with his cultivation and abilities.

Jie looked up, unable to comprehend most of his fathers words, his forehead had creased slightly and his eyes slanted, he clearly was trying to understand his fathers words.

It didn't take long before this pure child came to a conclusion "Father, I will do my best for my mother and me" whilst throwing his right fist towards his left shoulder, and looking into the ceiling of the main hall. Clearly this action was brought about by the heat of the moment, he had lost himself in thought as he was imaging himself as a hero saving the lands, he was looking at something only he could see, what that was nobody would know!
