That time I reincarnated as a beggar

That time I reincarnated as a beggar

It was the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Longzhi, in the month of the Dragon,When the blessed sun rose high over the blue skies, casting light on dreams and hopes yet to unfold.

In the whole square of Xuanyuan city buzzed with excitement. It was the long-awaited recruitment day for the Xian Dao Alliance, an event held only once every ten years.

Children and teenagers between the ages of seven and eighteen had gathered from far and wide, hoping to be chosen to walk the path of cultivation.

Among these was a small girl of ten cycles old small, thin and , her hair short and unkempt, and her clothes faded and dirty

she looked like a malnourished beggar but only in the eyes of mortals

None of the said mortal nearby wanted to talk to her; they only glanced at her with disgust before quickly looking away.

One man frowned as he walked past her. “How could such a dirty child show up like this? It’s disgraceful!”

“Probably just another beggar trying to earn sympathy,” a woman next to him said, shaking her head.

Some felt pity, tossing coins into her bowl, but kept their distance.

Li Mei watched the coins drop into her bowl without expression, her mind elsewhere. This appearance was intentional. She had no desire to interact with anyone or draw attention to herself beyond what was necessary.

In the background, excited chatter filled the air.

A boy nearby whispered to his friend, his voice trembling with excitement. “I hope I get chosen as an inner disciple. Can you imagine? Training under a real Immortal Master!”

“That would be amazing!” his friend exclaimed. “I’ve heard inner disciples get access to the best resources and learn secret techniques!”

Li Mei listened with detached interest. These children were full of dreams, their eyes bright with hope. But for her, this was merely another step in a much longer journey.

She is a reincarnator one who tried to defy death by reincarnation it was no wonder the heavens punished her by making her a beggar with a poor spiritual root

It did not matter to her she was a spirit wandering stage cultivator her root ,soul and origin were unified as one

When she possessed this body she ate away the poor spiritual root to nourish her spirit (in a way)

The memories of her first life were hazy, the details lost to time and the shock of death. She didn’t remember how she had died; only knowledge of the technique, few memories of her old life( she dearly regretted remembering the taste of fine snow dew Jasmine tea which she at her state won’t be able to taste for a long time)

There was no powerful figure to guide her, treasures granted to ease her way. Just the harsh reality of being a helpless infant in the world

The first decade of her new life had been hell. Born into a poor farmer family

Having enough food for the winter was a daily struggle, and luxury was a distant dream

At the age of seven cycles, poverty drove her family to try to sell her into slavery. It was at that time she decided to run

Her strength is not weak being atleast at the mid foundation establishment she needs neither food nor water but this world was dangerous and the fact that she made an enemy of the heavens did not help

In the end, she resigned herself to her fate, allowing life to carry her wherever it would. Yet it was in that place that she first encountered a chance to regain her lost power, pride, and freedom.

Determined, she embarked on a journey, traveling from town to town, gathering information while avoiding dangerous places and people.

Li Mei’s flash back was interrupted by suprised gasps

She looked up to see the people of the Xian Dao Alliance finally arriving, their presence commanding immediate attention. The atmosphere in the square shifted, excitement and anxiety rippling through the gathered crowd.

Finally her long wait will be over
