* Chapter 22.2 –Felicitations Ⅱ

Izo warily holds out the black shiny card with a snarling creature on the cover. Mumbling the word, “Use,” Izo waits with bated breath for the summoned creature to appear.

A black vortex appears before Izo as a ten-foot-tall, ebony lack lizard thing emerges from the vortex. A super long tail and limbs, glistening energy filled ebony skin, three long talons on each hand and foot, Izo suddenly had the urge to throw up. Around the creature’s shoulders, the creature has black, smooth tentacle things emerging upwards like a strange animal mane of sorts. Up its long neck, the creature head, well, it’s head is a giant gaping maw with no visible features including eyes.

Congratulations, you’ve summoned a S+ Female Guardian, Carnxergy. [Carn-X-er-gee]

This disgusting creature not only has the ability to use illusion and camouflage but the ability to eat mana/energy itself.

Would you like to set this creature as your core guardian?

To do so, “Please name it.”

Izo swiftly says, “Squishy,” a second later, the horrifying creature happily licks Izo’s face to her gut retching horror. Keeping her bile down, Izo says, “Squishy, go take a nap for now.” Squishy lets out a happy, terrifying growl as she licks Izo’s face before trotting over to curl up before the dungeon core.

Shuddering Izo wipes her face dry, before warily grabbing the next card, a golden card with a silver coin on the front of it. As soon as Izo says, “Use,” the card disappears as a giant roulette appears before her and spins in circles.

Izo covers her eyes as the wheel turns it finally comes to a stop. Peeking through her fingers Izo glances at the message before her that reads.

Congratulations, you’ve won!

350,000 GC’s!

Izo almost cries at having gained something that wasn’t just 1 coin. Satisfied, Izo begins hurriedly heads over to the sub-tabs to beef up her dungeon. But before she can, the administrative tab pops back up.

Please set an inside time versus outside time ratio!

Suggestion: 2:1 hour-ratio, 2 hours inside the dungeon is 1 hour in the outside world.

Izo decides to heed the suggestion and does as asked. Izo than returns to the market tab and decides on what to purchase. She knew that she needed more floors that is a given, but she didn’t want to go crazy as she would still need to fill all those floors with creatures. Erring on the safe side, Izo purchases five more floors for 10,000 GC’s.

Taking a deep breath, Izo pulls up the reconstruction model of the dungeon and removes everything on the 1st floor. The items appear in a dungeon storage waiting to be used as Izo ponders what to fill the 1st floor with first. She wanted to make difficult to get inside, but not kill anyone. After a while, Izo decides to go the nasty, irritating route. Izo fills the 1st floor with hordes of poisonous insects, Giant King Slimes, various moss for the slimes and insects to eat. Rather than purchasing new traps, Izo uses all the old traps of old and moves them to the 1st floor. The total cost of the first level renovation is 1,500 GC’s, which wasn’t bad at all.

Trying to ignore the sinking pit of money, Izo moves onto the 2nd floor. Izo adjusts her thinking to save some money, she clears the 2nd floor of everything to reuse on another floor. Izo only pauses to purchase a self-regenerating, giant mud/stone golem that blocks the passage to the next floor. The golem asks 10 very personal questions that must be answered truthfully or else the golem will start the painful question process all over. Sadly, the golem can’t be destroyed as it regenerates endlessly.

(Izo had the nagging feeling that this seemingly innocent golem would destroy the hearts and minds of many while destroying countless friendships and ruthlessly tear apart countless lovers. After all, Izo is merely applying modern psychology to dungeon warfare. If one defeats the mind, the battle is won. After having your deepest darkest secrets revealed to your party, how could that adventurer party continue to work together and continue to defeat the rest of the dungeon levels?)

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Izo decides to leave the 3rd level and 7th level dungeon floors the same as they had enough creatures to pose a threat to adventures. But just to be on the safe side, Izo added just a few more reinforcements to their groups by moving the battle golem to the 7th floor and the trolls to the 6th floor and rearranged the power structure that way.

Upon reaching the 8th level Izo pauses to think. What she needed to earn is God coins, but how to do so? Besides, it would be even better if she could earn some real-world cash as well.

Izo glances at the administrative tab for more details and reads carefully the fine print. “God Coins can easily be earned by having enough followers. Their devotion will naturally give power to thy god and ensure a healthy revenue of GC’s. So good luck on spreading your faith!”

Izo narrows her eyes in thought. If that was the case, then she could kill two birds with one stone. Izo would exploit the adventures by constructing a large town on the 8th floor. Izo darts for the Market tab and glances through the available creatures for purchase before at last finding what she needed. With a grin, Izo purchases several scores of magical brownies and other cute woodland creatures to serve as tenants/employees.

Izo proceeded to build a nice town filled with housing for her tenants and other useful buildings for the adventurers seeking refuge. Izo purchases several stores, several inns's including a spa, and builds a large temple with a cute brownie priestess to spread the word. (Not forgetting guards, Izo fills the area with semi-intelligent plants to choke/disable unruly adventurers, before tossing the foolish adventures out of the dungeon.)

Izo pauses at this point and glances at the administrative tab for more guidance on this part. “Each God has his or her own laws. To check yours say, “Oh, the great god, grant me thy word.” Izo sighs and embarrassedly murmurs those very words as a familiar screen pops up.

Congratulations on receiving thy God’s Holy Writ!

1. Thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart.

2. Thou shalt cuddle with thy God with all thy heart.

3. Thou shalt be sweet those that are sweet to you.

4. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

5. Thou shalt not rob nor covet that which is not yours.

6. Thou shalt not kill except in self-defense.

7. Madness is not a crime, it is a way of life.

Izo narrows her eyes at the simplicity of the 7 commandments. In fact, she strangely agrees with all of them to her great surprise. Musing, Izo places the commandments in the temple where her tenants are already worshiping before the pink jelly’s statue. The cute furry priestess bows at Izo’s entrance and says, “Your holiness, what shall you have us do?”

Izo hides a grin and importantly says, “You have been gathered from the ends of the earth to spread the faith of our god. Soon there will be many who shall enter in search of answers and rest.” Izo majestically points to the wall where the 7 commandments appear. The tenants all bow and gape as they solemnly read the holy word.

Izo conveniently takes the time to study the administrative rights. Finding the right option, Izo buys 10,000 pendants for 1 GC each. Izo places the pendants in the holy temple and turns towards the joyful priestess. “A pendant may be given to those that convert or to those that pay a tithe to the temple for 10 gold coins. Each pendant can only be used once, but if in danger, the pendant can be broken to return anyone back to the 8th floor. And do not worry about their running out, Cthulhu will always provide with more for those that follow him.”

“It shall be as thy Excellency decrees,” the petite priestess solemnly said as she handed out the holy pendants to the devotees, before carefully taking one for herself as well.

Izo keeps her face poker face lest she grins at the scam. Coughing, self-importantly, Izo darts away before she begins to grin evilly. Remembering the time, Izo swiftly returns to her work and heads to the 9th floor.

Izo renovates the 9th dungeon floor into a forest filled with werewolves and so forth. The 10th floor is a sand level filled with giant insect monsters that tunnel under the sands. The 11th floor is a graveyard filled with zombies and vampires. The 12th floor is filled with a moving maze and ghosts and evil shades. The 13th floor is a lake filled with shark monsters and the like. The 14th floor is turned into a lava floor with lava salamanders and bats. The final floor, the 15th floor houses the guardian and dungeon core. To keep Squishy tame and happy, Izo fills the 15th floor with giant electric snakes that soar through the air and mana sunflowers that produce mana spores. However, not finished, Izo buys a fake core for Squishy to protect and hides the real dungeon/temple core within the 15th  floor of the dungeon.

Exhausted Izo glances wearily at the dungeon cost of the upkeep per month $20,000 GC’s. The total GC’s left after everything including the upkeep for the first month is $116,000 GC’s. Izo had used slightly over half of her GC’s coins investing in the dungeon. It hurt her very soul to see all that was left because her life and very future would know depend on those remaining GC’s.

Izo glances at the final card left and decided to give it a rest for a day. Putting the final summoning card away, Izo glances at the functions to make certain she can teleport out. Thankfully, only the proprietor of the property, the current administrator which is herself can teleport directly inside and out of the dungeon. Tired and exhausted, Izo teleports out of the dungeon and directly into her room. Kicking off her clothes, Izo falls into bed in a tired sleep. She knew she was forgetting something, but she was too tired to care. Within a minute Izo is sound asleep in her bed.
