* Chapter 13 – Bingo

A month later, Izo sits in front of the T.V. watching a famous thief and his crew, a swordsman, a gunslinger and his lover/rival steal fabulous items, all the while being chased by an Interpol inspector. Just as the thief is about to save the girl, the T.V. goes dark.

The chip in her mouth suddenly falls out as Izo twists in horror. Dolores solemnly holds the remote control in her hand. “Miss, I understand that construction is currently still under way, but I would appreciate it if you got out of the house,” Dolores pointedly said as Izo opens her mouth to protest.

Dolores mercilessly cuts her off as she taps her foot impatiently against the floor. “I appreciate the fact that you are studying and even going as far as exercising every day. However, Miss promised that you would begin the hiring process two weeks ago. The construction of the auction house will be finished in the next two months and there needs to be hired personnel. Not to mention, that Miss needs to gather more items to be held in the auction house,” Dolores pointedly said.

“Yes, Dolores,” Izo meekly said as she climbs off the couch and sullenly goes to change her clothing. Though Dolores had a point, couldn’t she have waited until the episode was done?

Presentable, Dolores shoos Izo out of the condo and towards the waiting taxi. She hands Izo a brown paper bag packed lunch and says, “I packed you a sandwich, an apple juice, cookies and some sour gummy bears.”

Izo takes the lunch through the open door as Dolores adds, “I’ll be playing bingo with some of my friends if you need anything, Miss.”

Izo glares at the real reason for Dolores getting her out of the house. Dolores cheerfully slams the door shut as the taxi car sets off and waves goodbye at the disappearing yellow cab. With a cheerful spring in her step, Dolores hurries upstairs to get ready. According to Sally, there were going to be several handsome bachelors attending the bingo game. She couldn’t allow such an opportunity to pass her by.

Izo happily eats her lunch in the cab, after asking the cabby driver if she could. He agreed to her request if she handed over a cookie and half of her sandwich. Izo agreed to the terms of the trade and they both enjoyed an excellent lunch on the way to her destination.

Though tall, an all too thin woman in a dark blue, long sleeve shirt, black trousers, and pointed high heeled boots exits a yellow cab. The cabbie speeds off with his large tip in search of his next meal ticket. The woman doesn’t gather much attention though the guards do take a second glance at her. Her face was chilling and made them unconsciously reach for the weapons at their waist.

The woman glances at her watch for the time. The manager was supposed to meet her and show her current available employees for hire. A warm bell-like laugh causes her to halt and glance up. Lo and behold, an angel-like woman with golden hair, sun kissed lips and rosy cheeks prettily giggles as she flutters her long golden eyelashes majestically.

In the woman’s eyes resignation and annoyance flicker in their depths. The thin woman hastily moves to the counter and asks for the manager as she had an appointment. The employee hastily apologizes, that the manager is running late, but will arrive no later than five minutes.

The woman lets out an exasperated sigh but accepts the answer. She turns to go and sit down in the lobby, where the attendant pointed too. Her heels click against the floor as she passes by a group loitering in the lobby and towards the waiting area.

A suave man with dark red hair and bright green eyes moves away from the gorgeous damsel. He roughly reaches to grab the woman by the arm but is surprised to find his hand is easily slapped away. The woman coldly eyes the man and says, “Sir, you are being all too familiar with an unknown stranger.”

“Don’t act so indignant Izo Lee. I had heard you were dead, but seeing you here, you must have fled or paid off the killer to let you go. You always were an arrogant bitch getting everything your own way,” the suave man bitterly said.

The woman narrows her eyes as the gorgeous damsel rushes forward and interjects herself between the two. “Kellan, it’s not her! This is not Izo Lee,” the lovely woman desperately said.

Kellan makes a gentle expression and says, “You can’t dissuade me so easily, Mary. I’ve known Izo Lee since we were small and I know this is Izo Lee. She needs to pay for everything that she did to you.”

Before Mary can respond, Kellan moves around Mary and glares down his nose at the arrogant woman before him. “You can’t fool me, Izo Lee, I know it’s you. We were all shocked when Classroom 13 disappeared even if I did think you deserved it, but the rest of your classmates didn’t. I even felt pity, when I heard that the corpses of everyone in Classroom 13 had been found dead. Yet here you stand, so how did you do it?” Kellan harshly asked.

Looks of contempt and scorn cross the faces of the group especially that of the females. The tall woman raises her eyebrow and frostily says, “Sir, this is the second time, that I have been confused with someone else. I pointedly explained the last time that I was not who they thought I was. I greatly dislike the fact that there will be a third such incident. Therefore, allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Izo Reed.

Now that you are aware of who I am, allow me to make something clear. Should you confuse me again, with this Izo Lee, I will react most poorly. Is that understood, Mr. Kendall?”

Kendall’s face contorts with anger as he takes a threatening step forward. “I know it’s you, Izo Lee. You still have that arrogant face and that will always give you away!” Kendall angrily hissed as a handsome solemn dark-haired man and a golden haired, blue eyes man move to stop him from acting even more rashly.

The females of the group glare darkly at the woman in front of them. Before they can move, an excited manager with a neat mustache appears before them. The manager cheerfully says, “My apologies, mon Cherie. But I was caught up, in a teensy fiasco. Now, Miss Reed, it is an honor to meet the latest auction owner. I’m Mr. Debonair, but feel free to call me Pierre. Please allow me to escort you this way.”

“Yes, lets,” Miss Reed grumbled and follows the cheerful manager.

Kendall’s eyes widen in shock. The Izo that he knew would have yelled and screamed for an apology at being kept waiting. This Izo did not. She couldn’t be, could she? But the two shared the same first name, that was too much of a coincidence to be ignored.

The handsome young man with golden hair and blue eyes worriedly says, “Are you alright, Mary?”

Mary adoringly blinks up at him and says, “Yes, I’m Alexander. But Kendall doesn’t seem fine.”

Alexander smiles warmly charming the female members of the group and replies, “He’s just shocked by the similarity as we were. Give him time, he’ll be alright.”

Kendal indignantly stutters as the solemn man at his side with gray eyes and dark hair says, “They’re right, Kendall. From everything, I’ve seen today, that only approves that that Izo Lee and the woman before us are not the one and the same person. Izo Lee would have screamed for an array of apologies for having been made to wait. This woman comported herself calmly even when faced with your rude actions. Though Both women may share the same first name and similar appearances, but there is a doppelganger for everyone in the world. She is not to be confused with Izo Lee. You should apologize the next time you see her.”

“But Eric,” Kendall unhappily whined but became silent and sullen in acceptance.

Mary shows her enchanting dimples to Kendall and says, “I’m certain that Miss Reed will forgive you, once you explain the situation.”

Kendall nods sagely and says, “You’re absolutely right, Mary.” With that, all grievances are forgotten as the group discusses lunch plans. But for a moment, Mary pointedly turns to glance behind her as her eyes darken for a mere instant, fading away so swiftly that one would one question if they ever saw it.

Mary turns her face up and smiles at Alexander as she intertwines her arm around his. Alexander lovingly takes advantage of the movement and twines his hand around her. The two walked out hand in hand as the startled group follows in their wake. Love was certainly in the air as the two lead the group to a nearby restaurant.  The group drew glances as they were all well to do, but especially their looks. No member of the group would be considered unattractive. But mostly the eyes were drawn to the perfect golden couple as hearts were full of sighs and envy. It’s not every day a dreamboat and the dream girl ended up together.
