Chapter 65
“Finally, you’ve arrived.” Jack
“Can we get our gear back? These leaves are a little breezy.” Troll
I notice that the leafs the troll is using to cover himself is a little inadequate.
“Of course, but you have to answer my questions or I will kill you again.” Jack
The Orc snorts at this.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever, if you really wanted to kill us I doubt you would waste time like this.” Orc
“Seems someone has a high int.” jack
“Lets get this over with, what questions could you possibly have for us?” hobgoblin
After observing them for I bit I realize that they don’t have any true leader, they all seem to trust each others strengths enough to rely on them without a leader, which in itself is strength.
“Do you remember a life before this one? Or maybe a life that runs parallel to this one?” jack
“How did you...” Orc
“Old souls, rather common in this world, is it safe to assume that you all came from the same world? Possibly even go back when you die?” jack
“Yeah, that is right, we can go back to our old life” pink slime
Her response elicits a glare from some of her party members.
“What? It’s not like there is any point to lying to him” pink slime
That is true; I already know all the answers, having dug them out from their memories. I was rather intrigued by the nuclear bomb, seems wasteful, why destroy land that you were trying to take? Anyway it seems they came from another world and can go back there at will, there are supposedly hundreds or more creatures just like them, soon to be more, a lot more, all connected to a very powerful communication network. At least that is what I got from their memories, I only really looked at the stuff that is important right now, and it would take too long for everything else.
The questions are just a formality, to lead the conversation in a certain direction. things like this aren't unheard of, especially for gods and titans, who travel around different worlds a lot, and with me being friends with several I've heard of it.
“Do you possibly have a way of communicating with a large number of creatures like yourselves there?” jack
“We do” slime
“Great, I want you to send a message to everyone you can.” Jack
I spent the next half an hour describing not only the message, which was basically advertisement to sign up for my army, but also the benefits of putting the advertisement up. The payment for new recruits would receive necessities like food, water, and shelter, and would be given training and good gear. This party would receive monetary benefits for every person referred by them as well as start with a decent standing in my army if they chose to join it.
“This sounds like a wonderful opportunity; I think we should take it.” Troll

After a round of agreement I let them leave, a couple of them disappearing completely in front of me, even their souls and minds were instantly transported.
I decided to continue to walk, while doing something similar to what I was doing earlier while meditating, only to a lesser extent. My arm doesn’t feel nearly as itchy this way, and I can continue to move towards my target, albeit a little slower due to the missing limb.
After walking for a day and a half I decide to start running, which makes it harder to concentrate on moving the mana around my body. But this should be good training, I’ve heard of creatures who practice something called dynamic meditation becoming incredibly powerful, unfortunately never having the pleasure of fighting one, the biggest downside is it is extremely difficult to figure out how to do, and much more difficult to figure out how to do well.
As I run all other creatures avoid me as I am getting close to a city, more intelligent creatures gather at cities and drive away the strongest of the unintelligent ones making cities an ideal place to live. As I am starting to get tiered I stop by an inn to sleep, I am not hungry as food is easy to obtain while traveling if you’re fast enough to catch it.
I leave the city mostly without incident, a merchant tried to accuse me of theft, he never realized his mistake, nor will he continue to live for much longer after what I did to his mind and soul. I hope the guards don’t have too much trouble putting him down, mostly because it is a nice town and I wouldn’t want it to be destroyed because their public security is so weak.
The country I am currently in is a democracy, it also is rather chaotic with the government not having much power, and how can a democracy have the power to rule it’s people if the people don’t give it that power? I don’t think it will remain a democracy for more than 5 years.
This country is also rather small, I could go from one end to the other in a week if I wanted to, and I’m cutting though it at the skinniest part, so about 3 days. It passes pretty uneventfully, if you call getting ambushed by bandits every 4 hours to be uneventful, which I do, as they were weak.
end chapter 65
it's been a while, regretfully. i don't know when the next chapter will be, hopefully by the end of this month but maybe not. that chapter will feature lucy. i am kind of reminded of how i was at the begining of this story, excited to write a chapter and get it out every day, if i had kept up with that pace i would have been done with the whole story by now, anyone still here from that time, back when i first started this story?
