I am currently sitting behind the reception counter of the guild with a glass of green juice in my hand. After realizing I wished to join the guild Jeanette, the guild leader, practically dragged me inside. She then she had to get some papers from her office and told the mn standing behind the counter, Owen, to keep an eye on my until she came back. He doesn't sy anything but he seems like a nice guy.
There are a lot of people inside the guild building. They eat, drink, laugh and sometimes tell stories that happened on their quests. The mood is light and everyone seems at ease. Weirdly enough no one seems to talk about how just for a little while ago one of the walls disappeared in a blast. Is it regular?
I sip on the juice. It's sweet.
After a while Jeanette returns to the counter. In her arms she carries a stack of papers.
"Sorry to keep you waiting dear" she says, smiling at me.
"I-it's ok". While she is smiling I remember how scary she acted a while ago, with the same type of smile on her face. She really really reminds me of Julia-sama... That's why I don't dare using Appraisal on her. If she's got any ability like mine that detects when someone uses it on you, I'm screwed.
She gives Owen a nick and leads me into an enclosed room. I am still holding onto my juice.
The room she leads me into is an ordinary room, with only just two chairs and a tiny round table in it. In the ceiling hangs a lamp made out of the same glowing crystals I saw in the city. Jeanette points me towards one of the chairs and I sit down. She place the papers in her arm on the round tble nd sits down on the opposite chair. When she does she just stares at me. I can feel her gaze wandering across me. It gives me the chills.
"Can you please remove your hood, I have a hard time seeing your face".
I do as she say and pulls down my hoodie. Jeanette raises her eyebrow when she sees my appearence.
"I have met many people wanting to become adventurers, but I gotta say, I have never seen anyone of your kind. Also, you have to be one of the youngest ones. You didn't run away from home did you?" Jeanette asks.
"N-no, I simply wish to make a living". That is half true. While I do want to earn money so that I can travel without restraint I actually did run away from home.
"I see... Well then let me ask you of your name and age".
"My name is Ruth and I am... 10 years old". That's a complete lie but it's better than saying I was born a few months ago. Also there appears to be no laws against child labour, so I guess my age doesn't really matter.
"Only Ruth?" Jeanette asks.
"Only Ruth" I confirm.

"I understand" she says, looking sad for moment before she continues. "Ok, what about profession".
"Profession?"
"What you specialize in for example close combat, magic, archery and the like".
Oh, kinda like classes in games. What is my profession? I have healing, sealing and buff spells so I guess it should be supporter? But do they have that kind of profession in this world?
"I have support magic and healing spells" I decide to answer.
Jeanette writes something down.
"Ok, anything more I should know of?"
... Should I tell her about Rowan and the others?
"Mistress, I see no harm in doing so. Creating golems is nothing unusual, it's just that our progress rate is different from normal ones" Rowan comments.
Ok, that's good to know, guess I should tell her.
"I can create golems too".
"What element do they belong to?"
"Earth".
Jeanette writes something down again.
"Well then; everything seems in order. The last thing I need you to do is pour your mana into this". From a pocket Jeanette pulls out a metal plate.
"Why?" I can't help but ask.
"The plate will get inscribed with your name, level and adventurer rank. The ranks go from E till A and even above with ranks such as S and SS. When you do this you will become a fullfledged adventurer and have permission to accept quests, which enables you to rank up and take on even more difficult quests. You can use this badge in every guild there is" Jeanette explains.
"Ohhh! I get it!" I exclaim. Jeanette, pleased with my reaction, gives me the metal plate. I take it in my hand and concentrate my mana on it. After a while it starts to get hot and I stop to look at it. On it have appeared my name, level and rank, E.
Jeanette claps her hands.
"Congratulation Ruth dear! You are now a fullfledged adventurer!"
"... Yes! I did it!" I start smiling like crazy.
"Congratulation mistress!"
"Knew you could handle it boss".
"Mama is the best!"
I am extremely happy right now and can't help but jump at Jeanette and hug her. For a while she just stands there, confused, but then she starts to laugh and hugs me back. After that she leads me back into the guild hall where Owen still stands behind the counter. She slams her hand onto the desk, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.
"As a form of celebration for our newest and youngest adventurer, tonight all drinks are on me!"
Everybody ahouts of yjoy and in that moment I can't help but feel everything is gonna be alright.
