New World Order - Chapter 30: Sisters

“The Emperor will not like this arrangement of yours.”

Timon said while laughing, and at the same time spurred his horse to run forward, crossing the Whispering forest path. Frankie still let his horse run in small steps without haste, asked:

"How come?"

“The Emperor has long targeted your daughter for Prince Abel. The fact that you let her inherit Ubberst is tantamount to an outright refusal to do so."

“After all, Beatrice is still an heir, not a lord. If the Emperor is harsh, it only takes one word for her to enter the palace," Frankie replied with a heavy heart.

"He won't," said Timon firmly. “He will not displease one of his great lords. Moreover…"

"What's more?", Frankie spurred his horse to run alongside Timon's horse, curious to hear Timon's reply.

Timon looked at Frankie for a moment, but didn't answer immediately, then looked away as if to avoid his gaze. Then he replied:

“No one wants to get involved with Prince Abel's maternal family. Queen Ymelda is not simple.”

“I heard that too,” Frankie nodded.

“She will not let her children marry anyone other than her family. Not far away, Prince Augustus must marry his own cousin," Timon sarcastically.

"Is it the eldest daughter of the Hand, Walter Blackmyre?" asked Frankie.

“Princess Andriandel. She is the granddaughter of the Queen's paternal cousin. That woman couldn't loosen her claws from the royal flesh."

“Apparently the late queen was also a member of her family…?”

“Yes, her biological sister. That's why there are dirty rumours about her…”

"What rumor?" Frankie was surprised. Dwelling on the very end of Gaversia deprived him of a valuable source of information.

Timon looked at Frankie with a slightly serious expression and said:

“That… it was she who orchestrated the queen's death!”
