Chapter 900: 281. “Where is Death?”_2
So in some ways, the laws of the Ulnas Ring were not entirely without merit.
At the very least, the Ulnas Ring Law helped him to shield from a great deal of malice from the wizards of the Ulnas Ring.
Noland Lee was particularly concerned about the title “Transcendent-level.”
In the magic teaching materials, the wizards had differentiated a “Transcendent-level” between “Saint Tier” and “Star-level,” specifically used to refer to special Saint Tier Wizards who could become Star Witches at any moment and were much stronger than ordinary Saint Tier Wizards.
In a way, Noland Lee’s practice of maintaining a First-level water standard was somewhat similar to that of a Transcendent Wizard.
Both deliberately suppressed their own wizard tier for some reason, focusing instead on enhancing their combat capabilities.
...
Generally speaking, it was not uncommon for a Transcendent Wizard to take on three ordinary Saint Level Combat Wizards in a duel.
This was what the books claimed.
From this, it wasn’t hard to imagine just how formidable a Transcendent Wizard named Clint “Windhawk” could be. noveldrama
Noland Lee swept the panel information to one side and turned to look at the memory fragments of the Magic Avatar.
The first memory fragment Noland Lee opened was related to the exchange process with Lonco and the other two.
Throughout the exchange, the Magic Avatar named Benjamin Jelani spoke the most, followed by Selena’s older brother, Lonco Pomida, and Clint “Windhawk’s” Duplicate spoke the least.
It was also fortunate that Lonco, a non-Transcendent Wizard, was there; in answering questions for him, Benjamin Jelani revealed many things that even Noland Lee didn’t know.
The first thing was:
Ascension Fortress tames Wild Magic, transforming it into Local Magic.
It wasn’t hard to tell from Benjamin Jelani’s words that the existence of Ascension Fortress was no secret among the group of Transcendent Wizards.
More than that, they were aware of concepts like Wild Magic and Local Magic.
What Benjamin Jelani meant was,
The more Noland Lee used Wild Magic, the sooner it would be tamed by “Ascension Fortress.”
But here was the problem.
Why hadn’t Noland Lee himself felt his “Thundercloud Technique,” “Elemental Reactor Summoning Technique,” and other Wild Magics being tamed by “Ascension Fortress?”
Every time he used these spells, the System, apart from sending Process of Shaping information, never mentioned “Ascension Fortress.”
Checking the Magic Panel again, there was not a single Wild Magic on it marked as “being tamed.”
“I actually think my Deconstruction Core System is even more awesome than ‘Ascension Fortress,'” Noland mused, stroking his chin.
Noland tapped his chin lightly, a glint appearing in his eyes:
“Benjamin Jelani said there were many things that recorded Wild Magic in the Spinning Continent. After learning from Lonco that I had traveled back and forth above the Starfall Sea several times, he immediately determined that my Wild Magic came from the Dragon Clan Treasure.
“This indicates that in the eyes of Star-level Wizards, the consensus that Wild Magic comes from Dragon Clan Treasure has already formed, and the Dragon Clan Treasure is very likely the only source of Wild Magic.
“Conversely, any spell that can be shaped by shaping wizards should have already been included in ‘Ascension Fortress.’
“My Deconstruction Core System bypassed the Dragon Clan Treasure as a carrier, circumvented the restrictions of ‘Ascension Fortress,’ and directly shaped Wild Magic. Therefore, it’s only natural that the spells created by the System would be immune to the influence of ‘Ascension Fortress.’
Noland tapped his chin, his eyes sparkling:
“By this deduction, not only is my System more advanced than ‘Ascension Fortress,’ but there are also many aspects in which the two could complement each other.
“‘Ascension Fortress’ can record spells, and my System can do that too;
“My System can create Wild Magic, and ‘Ascension Fortress’ can tame Wild Magic;
“My System can access the Operating Interface of the Mind Array from the Metal Creation Group, while ‘Ascension Fortress’ seems to only affect magical spells on the magic side.”
Noland Lee’s eyes narrowed slightly, his mind churning with thoughts:
“Interesting…
“‘Ascension Fortress’ is a lot like a database. Taming Wild Magic is similar to standardizing the format of data. Moreover, this kind of database also comes with an access mechanism, allowing only wizards with access rights to cast corresponding spells.
“‘Deconstruction Core System’ is like a tool responsible for data collection and editing. When I consume Energy Points to activate Deconstruction, I am collecting data. As I shape spells according to the predicted scheme provided by the System, create Alchemy and magical creations, I am editing data, verifying the accuracy of the data.”
Noland Lee raised an eyebrow, feeling as though he had stumbled upon something significant.
He raised his right arm and pressed his palm against the top of his head, asking himself:
“So what would happen if my ‘Deconstruction Core System’ encountered ‘Ascension Fortress’?
“And in this, what role and function do I play?
“Could it be that I am the medium through which the Deconstruction Core System interacts with the outside world?
“Is this part of the truth of why I have crossed worlds?
“But why did the System choose me?”
Noland Lee ruffled his own hair, feeling somewhat troubled.
To tell the truth, he had contemplated his crossing of worlds more than once.
This time, his thoughts were the most abundant and convincing so far.
He had a premonition deep down:
At the moment when the “Deconstruction Core System” encountered “Ascension Fortress,” something earth-shattering was likely to happen for him.
