Chapter 452

At Opulent Club, Rachel sat across a man in his 30s in a private room on the second floor. His name was Daniel Hardy, and he was the owner of a pharmaceutical company.

After some small talk, Rachel got down to business. "We've covered most of the details of our partnership. Can we move forward with the contract?"

Daniel glanced at his phone to check the time. It was way past the agreed time, but where did he go? Just then, the door opened, and Isaac walked inside.

Seeing Isaac made Rachel frown right away. The only person she wanted to avoid showed up, but she still greeted him.

"What are you doing here?"

Isaac replied with a smile, "I heard you were working on a deal, so I came over to show my support."

Rachel couldn't shake off the bad feeling she had about it and forced a smile. "Thanks, but I've already wrapped things up. We're signing the deal today, so you didn't need to come all this way."

Isaac picked up on the rejection and sneered. "Are you saying you can sign the deal without me?" Rachel nodded. "Everything is set. We're just about to sign the contract."

Isaac turned to Daniel and snapped, "Is that true?"

Daniel was startled. "I've never agreed to anything with her, Mr. Wood. I wouldn't dare say yes without your word."

Isaac looked over at Rachel as if to imply, "See? Without my approval, you can't close this deal."

Rachel sported a troubled look. Daniel knew Isaac and listened to him without question. Her lie had been exposed.

However, it wasn't a big deal, and she just blushed a little. But she still had this uneasy gut feeling.

Rachel steered the topic back to the contract and asked, "Since you're here, can we go ahead and sign it?"

Daniel was at a loss for words and turned to Isaac. He needed to know what Isaac felt about it. However, Isaac simply fixed his gaze on Rachel's gorgeous face and chuckled.

"If you want to grow your business,

I'm here to help you out, Rachel. One word from me, and the Carter family's business will skyrocket, but you can't keep acting so indifferent toward me."

Rachel looked a little flustered. "But we had a deal, right? We'd discuss marriage after three years."noveldrama

Isaac grinned coldly. "Look. I don't

wait around for the woman I like, and I've been patient enough for you already. You can't just brush me off with the same excuse to wait for three years. en

"We can talk about marriage in three years, but you need to come back to my place tonight."

Rachel's face immediately drained of color. The reason she feared the Wood family was their influence and military strength. They were downright too formidable for her to take on.

Rachel was a businesswoman. No matter wealth how wealthy she was, she felt completely helpless in front of the authority. It just felt like fighting a losing battle.

So, Rachel broke up with Matthew and then decided on a three-year timeline. But at this moment, Isaac couldn't care less about the three-year agreement anymore.

She bit her lower lip and iterated, "Three years was the deal."

Isaac scoffed. "Three years? Yeah, right. I'll wait three years if I feel like it, but I'm losing my patience now, so you're becoming my woman this instant."

As Isaac spoke, he made his way over to Rachel. The latter was startled. "What are you trying to do? It's still light out, you know?"

Isaac flashed her a lecherous smile. "That just means that I can see everything clearly. Doesn't that make it better?"

Rachel retreated in fear. "We're at Opulent Club. Aren't you worried about upsetting the club owner?"

Isaac coldly grunted. "He's just a club owner. Please, he's nothing. You damn well better behave today, or I'll make sure the Carter family is done for. The Grant family will go down with them too."

Isaac knew what mattered most to Rachel, so he brought up these two things to threaten her. With that,

Isaac lunged at Rachel and grabbed her shirt.
