Evelyn wasn't holding back this time.
Despite Dahlia's frantic attempts to fight back as Evelyn forced her head down, she couldn't match Evelyn's fierce resolve. Her forehead hit the cold concrete floor with a sickening thud. Pain shot through her, tears cascading down her cheeks. Rage bubbled up inside her, and she lashed out at Evelyn with everything she had.
"Evelyn, are you out of your mind? I'm her elder! How dare you make me bow to this little brat? Does she even deserve it?"
Dahlia desperately tried to lift her head, glaring at Evelyn with a face twisted in anger. In her fury, she let slip the words she'd only ever whispered in the shadows.
"Slap! Slap!"
The words "little brat" only fueled the fire in Evelyn's eyes. She delivered two sharp slaps to Dahlia's face. Grabbing Dahlia's hair, she yanked it hard, her eyes red with rage as she stared her down.
"Charlie can't take it?"
Her voice dripped with malice, like a specter from the depths of hell, itching to turn Dahlia to dust. "Dahlia, you killed Charlie. Even if you died bowing at Charlie's grave today, she'd still deserve it!"
Evelyn's words struck Dahlia like a bolt, halting her struggles. Her eyes widened in shock, and she stared at Evelyn in disbelief.
What had Evelyn just said? Was she blaming her for Charlie's death? How did she find out?
But Evelyn didn't give Dahlia any time to process. Consumed by hatred, she forced Dahlia to bow before Charlie's grave, gripping her head and pressing her shoulder down.
"Bang!"
Dahlia's head hit the ground again. She didn't have the luxury to think anymore. Pain and shame drove her to struggle frantically. "Evelyn, you're crazy. Let me go!"
"You hurt me, and Charles won't let you get away with it!"
Dahlia's screams and curses fell on deaf ears. Evelyn was relentless, pinning Dahlia down, leaving her no room to escape.
"Bang!"noveldrama
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Each bow was as forceful as the last, right in front of Charlie's grave. Dahlia's strength waned, her head was bleeding, and dizziness was taking over. Blood trickled down her face, blurring her vision. But Evelyn wasn't stopping; she kept forcing her down.
Panic gripped Dahlia. What if Evelyn, in her madness, actually made her die here, at Charlie's grave? She
still had a future ahead of her. She didn't want to die at Evelyn's hands.
"Evelyn, murder is a crime. Don't do anything rash. Let's talk this over calmly..."
"I didn't mean it today. I just acted out of anger..."
From being defiant to now trying to soothe Evelyn, Dahlia's tone shifted as she tried to coax Evelyn into letting her go. But Evelyn wasn't hearing any of it.
Dahlia was terrified. She didn't want
to die! Driven by a fierce will to survive, Dahlia, despite being dizzy and weak, felt the shards of the
porcelain bowl she had brzy~
earlier. She grabbed a piece and slashed at Evelyn's hand as she was pulled up again.
The shard cut into Evelyn's hand. The sudden pain made Evelyn loosen her grip a bit. She didn't fet go completely, but it was enough for Dahlia. Mustering all her strength, she shoved Evelyn away.
