Chapter 27 - Snow Spring Valley
Snow, spring valley, usually just called as ''Snow Spring'' is a place where crystal waters flow even with the harsh snowy weather. Despite even winter, the stream which the valley is named from never freezes. Some say that the reason why so is mainly because of the water of the spring being warm.
After arriving in this valley, Stian have obviously have touched the water and roughly guess that why the stream/spring is warm, which probably because of an active volcano in the vicinity. According to one of the books in Stian's possession, the area is also considered dangerous not just because of the sudden avalanches but also due to the existence of the Nivis Trolls which, according to the locals are said to be the minions of Snaer the personification of snow.
Also One of the warnings given by the locals around here is to never ever stray from the carved paths and the sign boards placed along the valley. And if possible if they can see some of the members of the tribe of black snow, then it would be best to call out to them and ask for assistance.
Right now Stian has already passed the seventh sign board and is currently on what they call the snow hall. The whole place is basically a long system of cave tunnels that has stalagmites acting as its support beams and creating such wonderful tunnel. Within the snow hall, were also frozen water being dangerous objects that may poke your head and drain the blood in your head until you die.
Passing the snow hall, what greets Stian next is a field of snow that stretches for yards apart and on the fields are the corners of the valley facing each other. This place is known by the locals as the snow waves due to the giant waves of avalanches that usually kill traveler's that are not careful.
Also one of the most basic manners in passing the area is to be quiet as possible and follow the goddamn signs. After all, those signs have been planted here just to ensure the clueless ones not to be lost or prevent them from acting stupid.
Slowly Stian took his steps as sweats of ice beads flow from his foreheads as he carefully took one step to another carefully praying that his luck would hold out and make him pass without trouble. Before long, Stian saw the end of the fields and read the signboard.
According to the signboard , it seems that this signboard is the 8th one and written on the signboard was how Stian just needs to pass the 9th and 10th are then not die on the 11th are to reach the 12th area which the camping grounds of the black now tribe are established at.
The Black Snow Tribe are the absolute territory rulers of this area and has been ruling the snow spring valley for decades while also being as an honorable clan by the town Snow Crest. By the way even though it's called a town, Snow Crest according to the books is considered a city for some reason.
It's called a town but actually not because it's actually a city, kind of logic. It's pretty confusing why, but since Stian really doesn't care about it so he decided to just let brush it off as a relevant question. Eventually, after a bit of walking Stian finally saw the 9th area called Snowy Woods which is like it's name a very wood infested area.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
No one knows why these trees are very abundant on this area and no one really questions it other than the woodcutters who seems to be camping here. Though they look at Stian with a few curious glances, they did not inquire further and just smoke sort of tobacco and continued about their business. Maybe because it was just his own instincts that he feel the urged to tell the woodcutter's he passed by to stop smoking on a dense woody area.
But eventually, Stian stopped himself when he notices the watery ground and the cold winds and conclude that since they are familiar with the area, then they should know their own business and their own taboos, so Stian leave them alone and continued to move on further.
The tenth area, the area that has the highest percentage of travelers being lost or falling to underground cave systems. This area in particular is now named Snow Winds, because as usual like what the area is, it's a land where violent cold wind from the south end of the valley blows more harshly.
To endure the blowing winds, Stian had to use all the strength on his legs and abdomen while following the carved road in order not lose his way. But even with the gust of wind, Stian was doing fine due to having most of his body strengthen by the wanderer's hand.
And finally the last area, the 11th area which consists of fragile blocks of ice that may break when you're not careful. Though it's probably the safest of the are mostly because you can actually see the thin ices and the right paths to step into because of the signs. But then, the only problem with the area is how freakishly vast the area is and how you need 2 hours at most, to reach the 12th area which is the black snow tribe's camping grounds...
..... And at some point, Stian have arrived at the end of the area as he sighs in thanks for safely arriving. So why did he have to travel the eleven area's of danger? It's simple, because the way Stian came from being through towards the south, which Wodfel is, so therefore in order to reach the point of interest which is Snow Crest. Stian has to travel towards Woodrock village, then follow the main routes towards the blue oak camp grounds and then follow a straighten road route that splits between the way towards Dredl City and enter snow spring valley.
Though, if for example Stian started on the west part of the continent, Stian would have no problems reaching the town of Snow Crest if he follows the trade routes that the town use. And since that Stian doesn't really wanna retraced his steps and go back towards mist forest, the barren lands and then passed again by the world tree, so he decided to take the risk of passing through the snow spring valley instead.
Now that Stian have safely arrive, He didn't waste any time and entered the camping grounds of the black snow tribe in order to take a rest.
