Chapter 12 - The Black Cloak
Lura's park merchandise section is full of stalls that sell different kind of things. From charms, weapons, armor, staffs, potions and even miscellaneous stuff that can be used in different scenarios. The amount of crowd in this section is really thick. Though I do not know if it's just because there is a festival happening here or this is just a normal here.
Moving on, due to consideration, I have also bought a pair of iron bracer gloves and leg armor and a holding back for rations which can fit in my backpack in case I use all the rations from my world. Though I manage to bough them for 142 coins, I have now 390 coins left from 600 coins. Though it was a bit expensive and half the price of renting a room in an inn for a week. It should be worth it.
Also, there was one thing that bothered me during my walk here. Whenever i tried circulating the energy of my Wanderer's Hand i can feel more strength flow towards me as my hearing, vision and body gets even stronger. Coupled with the passive increase just by having the marking in my palm. It seems that whenever i try making use of it white energy threads would wrap around my veins, muscle and bones and even my eyes and ears. Due to that there would be glow of lines in my arms, face and my whole body to the extent that it kinda bothers me. Though i did see Ava, glow when she uses her power on that general draugr. I never thought that i would also have these kinds of side effects, now I understand why Ava wears a robe and a mask.
So what is the solution to the problem? Though I have my hooded cape coat on me and a goggle mask in my backpack, which I usually use when traversing desert and snow. I would love to have a cloak that can cover me and my whole body completely. I walk towards a stall of clothes, but it seems that though there were cloaks they were a bit too plain for my liking. So decided to head to a another store that looks a bit made for mages.
Entering the store called Runic. I wandered inside and is looking at the robes one by one. Then in the corner, I saw a black cloak. Seeing the black cloak I was mesmerized and inwardly thought about how fucking cool it is. Jet black and seems enchanted by runes that prevents the cloak from deteriorating. I then asked for the price and it was a whooping 200 coins. I saw the price and sweated bit, though buying this would only leave me 190 coins, the durability and effect seem great, and the greatest point is that it just looks cool..... sold!
I left the store as I donned my new black cloak and put the hood of my coat up to match it. Damn, I feel cool, though I would probably be laughed at and be treated as a weird person in my own if wear this, but since this isn't my world an there is a lot of people wearing even weirder things so its fine hopefully.
Having this cloak, I decided to channel energy threads and made myself invisible in the alleyway. Then, using the energy of the wanderer's hand and activated the increase strength as it enchants my passive strength even further. The White lines, then appeared in my body, but due to the black cloak and invisibility it was unnoticeable.
As a photographer there were times that we have to risk our lives and sometimes trespass or climb buildings to get a better view. During my years as a college student, I was dragged into the gym for Parkour and spend time there till I graduated. Though during my childhood years I have practiced with my uncle towards Wing Chun and learn some of the basic stances, postures, strikes and techniques. Though halfway during my high school days I started doing krav maga for self defense since it was a highly recommended self defense for aspiring photographers.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
And though in college, I was dragged into doing Parkour, it was a bit easy to study the principles due to my fitness, but practicing the art of escape was a bit of a handful and even it was easy to study the principles. The practical methods was not easy and have broken my bones for quite a time. But even so the martial arts I have learned have helped me deeply during my few years as a photographer.
So why am saying all these things? Because right now I'm gonna climb the tower and reach that vantage point! I started running a wall and then jump side to side and grabbed the edge of a platform and continued climbing until I pulled myself and look for a way to reach the vantage point. Though in my world this would have been tiring. But with my new enchanted strength things are rather easy. Though there were people in my world that was superhuman in a sense that they can jump off high buildings and feel nothing. I think I can honestly say that if went home with my current strength they would be left to dust and be awestruck.
Moving on, I then wall run upwards a building, then long jump towards the tower's edges which is the building that has the highest vantage point around here. Climbing steadily with my right foot and then using left leg to jump and grabbed the edges, I was like a monkey who steadily scales the building. Then, seeing that there is a bit of a gap between me and the thing edge I need to climb. I put strength in my legs as I jump and attempted to grab the edge!
Successfully grabbing the platform's edge. I then pulled myself up and look at the view. Feeling satisfied that I seem to have not lost my skills yet, or was is just the hidden strength? In any case, I'm currently on top of this building. Not wasting any time I took out my camera and started taking pictures of the scenery in front of me. The thing about the city of windfall is that even with this much building the city still is in harmony with nature and the canals that are clear as water and the flora's that grows on the buildings adds more charm to this city. Though even with the gigantic tree that is as wide as four football stadiums, the tree of wodfel doesn't lose in being amazing.
Sitting casually in this building I took out my canteen and drink some water. Though the walls are high you can still see the mist forest and the white mist that surrounds it. Though it feels endless when looking at it due to the mist. It still gives a strange feeling, like being trapped in a boat and you don't know what might come out of it.
Looking at my wrist watch I decided that it's time and decided to head back to the inn. I drop to cat as hang on the ledge and then let go and grab another ledge. Then slowly repeating the process I manage to descend down to a building as I then jump off back to the alleyway and made my way towards the inn.
