As I leave my room with Winter to wake up the others, I see someone sitting in the hallway, bawling. "What’s the matter?" I ask
The girl looks up to me. "My magic won’t work," she says. "Nobody’s will." Again, my bad.
I knock hard on the door of Julius and Ican and yell for them to wake up. After about 8 minutes, they emerge, ready to go.
As we leave the hotel, I ask Ican, "Were magic and skills important to this world?" I ask.
"They were," Ican responds. "It’s how I protected my tribe, it’s how the Church of God communicated with the Voice of God, and it’s how everyone cast spells. Now everyone has to rely on sheer physical strength and technology."
"I see. What would you say if I were to tell you I could restore both?" Ican gives me a incredulous look.
"Hah! I knew you were powerful when you said you killed the Voice of God, but nobody is powerful enough to do that!"
"Very well. Feel free to explore the city for a while. I have to go do something back at the tower." I open a flux rift back to the tower and step through.

Back in my study, I mull over plan after plan for the device I have in mind. After hours in thought, I conceive a potentially functional prototype. The device is about as large as my forearm and spins like a centrifuge when activated. I have designed it to gradually bob and weave the vis in the air to an identical structure as what the god had it when I arrived. Although the Voice of God skill won’t return, even if I don’t understand why this works, there’s no reason it shouldn’t.

When I return to the city, I make sure to open the flux rift in a secluded area so nobody will see. As I emerge from the alley, I notice it’s about midday. I search for the group for a few minutes before finding them at a food stand. How did they even get money? I approach them with a triumphant aura.

"How are you even paying for that?" Julius pulls out a small coin with the word "fyle" written on it.
"I haggled my way up from a coin I found in the ground to about 200." She smiles. Neat.
"Anyways, I have something excellent to show you all. Ican, if I leave something in the care of your tribe, can you assure me it will stay safe?"
"Sure. What is it, though?" He asks.
"Proof that you were wrong. Heh."
----------------------------------------
I open a flux rift to the tribe’s land and we all step through. The tribespeople immediately recognize us and warmly greet us. I gather them around the wooden platform I first found Ican sitting on and place my creation. "It is vital you protect this with your lives," I say. "Observe."
I tinker with the device for a moment before it begins spinning. At first it’s slow, but then it spins so fast it’s almost impossible to see. As it spins, the goggles of revealing show that the vis in an expanding area is slowly taking on the pattern it did when I first arrived in this dimension.
"Ican," I say. "Try to use your skills."
"What? Alright, but we’ve already… what the hell!? I can use status! What did you do?" His voice is full of amazement and the tribespeople also try out their skills. I see one person jump about 20 feet in the air.
"Nothing that is created by a god exists that cannot be replicated by thaumaturgy. Also, your Voice of God is gone forever. I’m sure you can guess why. That means no Church of God coming back to harass this tribe." The tribe and Ican are so overjoyed they hold a large feast overnight. Unfortunately, since I can’t eat, I seclude myself in one of the tipis, tinkering and theorycrafting overnight.

At about midnight, past the celebration of Julius and Ican, I hear something in the distance. Something loud. I rush from my tent and tell Winter, who I had stand guard outside, to follow me. His eyes flash and he comes with me to the source of the sound.
Nobody else has seemed to notice it, but from the South something approaches. I recognize it as a long-dead species of reptilian from my home dimension at first. However, as it gets closer, I can tell this is no ordinary entity. Its soul appears to be wise, and the now-expanding vis network I have created bends around it. Are you fucking kidding me? Why do dragons hate me so much?
