Chapter 12.5 - Interim I

A woman dressed in extravagant yellow flowing robes speed-walks down a brightly lit hallway followed by her associates. Her face is agitated. She walks up to a set of heavy gilded doors. She placed her hands on them, sighs, composes herself, and pushes them open.

"Summer. Took you long enough." The agitator is a young girl clad in green, mossy clothing. At the table also sits a man with attire commonly seen on nobility, only it is all orange. The woman in yellow sits down at the large round table the other two are gathered at.

"Shut up Spring. Autumn, contact them." The man in orange nods in compliance. He chants sacred words, and spectral images of several other people appear, also sitting at the table.

"Contact has been established. Thank you all for coming. As some of you know, Winter has been killed." There are several gasps and shocked expressions around the table.

"How is this possible? Did your shit-eating dragon go on another rampage?" One of the phantoms. Summer pauses for a moment.

"He’s dead too." The room goes dead quiet. One of the phantoms stands up in his chair. He is wearing plate armor, and his face is obscured.

"Would the perpetrator happen to be a mysterious man clad in purple?" The man asks.

"Yes. Don’t tell me…" Summer is horrified at the possibility of such an entity being able to cross dimensions.

"Yes. He killed one of the Royal Knights I appointed to protect the divine king I chose with a single punch." When he says this, the room erupts into panicked argument. People shout over each other in anger and fear. "We must find this creature!" "What terrifying power…"

"QUIET." The voice of the standing man booms over all others. "As you all know, mortals can normally only cast spells powerful enough to pull dead souls to their realm. The existence of an entity capable of transporting himself across creation is unheard of. Even us gods have issues with that." The room is filled with concerned glances. "As the representative head god of my dimension, I will find and kill this man as vengeance for everyone. For Winter, for your guardian dragon, and for my Royal Knight. On my name as Tetrax, God of Destruction, this man shall die."

"How do you intend to find him? Even we can’t." Autumn asks.

Tetrax chuckles. "Fortunately for us, he left a device in the neck of one of my followers. It has been nearly impossible to remove while she was alive, so I killed her and extracted it. With this, I can trace the origin dimension and open a gateway to it." He holds up the small, wine-opener shaped device. The room begins to stir with newfound confidence. "Surely nobody can beat Tetrax in combat!" One god shouts.

Summer speaks again. "Very well. If you need assistance, we will be here to help you. Aside from that, I believe our meeting is over." The countless phantom gods disappear from the room as Autumn ends the communication spell.
