Carl hurriedly reached out his hand, helping Olivia climb onto the deck. As soon as she pulled herself up, Carl enveloped her in a tight embrace, heedless of her soaked clothing.
"You scared me to death, darling," he murmured, kissing her forehead tenderly. Olivia mustered a weak smile, her body shivering from the cold.
Meanwhile, Marcus, who had been watching Kalvin's struggle, rushed to the edge of the deck with Melvin. Together, they leaned down and extended their hands, pulling the exhausted Kalvin up and onto the safety of the solid ground.
Melvin fussed over Kalvin, checking on his condition and helping him to his feet. The relief on her face was palpable as she realized he had made it through the terrible experience.
Kalvin turned to Olivia, his voice tinged with a mix of humiliation and anger. "What were you thinking? Was it fun to just jump into the sea like that?" he complained. Olivia frowned, not even considering he had just saved her life.
"I didn't ask you to jump in!" she retorted. Kalvin smirked, his expression humiliating. "You're welcome," he said sarcastically, making Olivia feel uncomfortable and guilty.
Turning to Carl, Kalvin continued, "You'd better keep her chained up; I can't go through that again." His words dripped with condescension, further humiliating Olivia. Olivia opened her mouth, ready to respond, but before she could, Tara interjected with an important question, temporarily distracting the group.
Tara turned to Olivia, her expression filled with curiosity. "What happened, Liv? Did you fall off the ship? But I thought you were a good swimmer," she asked.
Even Kalvin, who was taking off his soaked shirt, paused and put his ear towards Olivia, eager to hear her explanation.
Olivia hesitated momentarily, her gaze darting from Tara to the others. Carl, sensing her discomfort, subtly signalled to Tara, using his eyes to communicate that she should not press for any further details. Tara, confused, glanced at Carl, wondering if there was some secret she was unaware of regarding her old friend.
Olivia took a deep breath and revealed, "I have a genetic disorder."
Her voice was tinged with frustration as she continued, "It sometimes causes me to shiver and pass out."
Tara, visibly concerned, wanted to know more details, but Carl subtly shook his head, indicating that she should not press Olivia further.
Sensing Olivia's discomfort, Carl quickly intervened, "Let's get you inside, Liv. You're catching a cold." He gently ushered her away from the group, understanding that Olivia didn't like to appear weak in front of others.
As they passed Kalvin, Carl turned to him and said, "Thank you a lot, Kalvin." His tone was sincere and friendly.
Kalvin, slightly taken aback by the gratitude, responded gently, "It's nothing to thank." He then turned and started walking inside to change into warmer clothes.
" That's weird I've never heard of such an illness" Marcus watching Carl and Olivia walking along the corridor, far away enough not to hear them.
" It looks like she has some rare genetic disorder although I can't be specific right now" Tara replied lost in thoughts.
Olivia was walking to the bridge. It was around 6 p.m.She wanted to speak with her mother before they entered the Bermuda Triangle in the coming hours. The uncertainty of what lay ahead weighed heavily on her mind.
However, as Olivia stepped into the room, she was met with an unwelcome surprise – Kalvin was standing at the control panel, his back turned towards her. Why the heck Kalvin has to be the one in the room every time she calls her mom? It felt like some cruel twist of fate. Kalvin turned around briefly to see who had entered, then quickly redirected his attention back to the control panel.

Olivia made her way to the communication system, her mind racing. She had hoped for a private moment to talk to her mother before they ventured into the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. But the constant Kalvin's presence was becoming a frustrating hindrance. If Clarance had been there instead of Kalvin, Olivia's experience would have been vastly different. It won't feel this much annoying. Kalvin was a part of the story that separated her from her mom. She dialled to the Octagon Verenda. As it took a few moments to connect she again looked at Kalvin. She knew he was simply doing his job, but his presence at this particular moment felt like a distraction from the personal conversation she desperately needed to have. At that moment Elsa's face appeared on the screen.
"Hey sweetheart" She said with a soft motherly smile on her face.
"Hey, Mom," Olivia replied, her voice filled with happiness. At that moment, the presence of Kalvin in the room seemed to fade into the background as Olivia's focus narrowed to the comforting image of her mother.
"Olivia, you're going to enter the Bermuda Triangle in just a few hours," Elsa said in a stressful voice. Olivia heaved a sigh."I know," she replied, her voice tinged with trepidation.
But then, Olivia's expression shifted, and she looked at her mother with a sorrowful gaze. "But that's not what I want to talk about," she said hesitantly.
"There's nothing we can do about that now."
Olivia paused for a moment, gathering her courage. Then, she leaned in, her eyes pleading.
"If there's anything you want to explain to me, anything at all, just do it," she said, the words almost tumbling out as if they had been stuck in her throat, desperate to be heard.
Elsa was puzzled at first. she couldn't understand what Olivia wanted her to say. The last time she tried to explain to her about Turner's death Olivia freaked out. Probably Olivia's asking about something else. Elsa hesitated for a moment. Has Olivia found out about that genetic disorder?
"Olivia, my dear," Elsa began, her voice laced with a tinge of guilt. "There's something I've been meaning to tell you, something that I should have shared with you long ago."
Olivia leaned in, her eyes filled with a mix of anticipation and wonder. What is it her mother going to tell her now? Whatever her mother was about to reveal, she doubted that it wasn't about Turner's death. she waited a moment to let Elsa speak first.
"You see, the genetic disorder you have," Elsa continued, pausing momentarily to gather her thoughts surprising Olivia.
"It's not something that simply happened by chance. There's a deeper story behind it, one that involves our family's past."
Olivia felt a chill run down her spine. She had always known her condition was extraordinary. Nothing she learned as a doctor matched with her symptoms.
"The day your father died I discovered that this disorder was passed down to you" Elsa explained, her voice wavering slightly. "It's a legacy that goes back generations, and it's something I've been trying to keep hidden to protect you."
Olivia's eyes widened as the gravity of her mother's words sank in. She had never suspected that the truth about her condition was so deeply rooted in her family's history.wHAT IS HER MOTHER TELLING NOW?
"But why?" Olivia asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why keep this from me all this time?"
Elsa's gaze shifted, her eyes reflecting the weight of the decision she had made. "I wanted to spare you the burden, the stigma, the fear that comes with this knowledge," she said.
"I thought I was protecting you, but now I realize that was a mistake. You deserve to know the truth."
Olivia could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she processed the revelation. The secrets her mother had kept, the burden they had carried alone – it all came crashing down on her, leaving her overwhelmed.
"Tell me everything, Mom," Olivia said, her voice resolute.
"I need to know the whole story"
Elsa nodded solemnly, knowing that there was no turning back now. She steeled herself to reveal the family's closely guarded secrets. Elsa took a deep breath, knowing that the information she was about to share was deeply personal and had been kept hidden from Olivia for years.
Elsa looked at Olivia with a serious expression. "Olivia, the genetic disorder you have is a secret in our family. It's just... a secret. You can't tell anyone about it, because if anyone finds out, we'll both be at risk. But the disorder itself doesn't actually cause any harm."
Olivia was left feeling puzzled. "What? Is it a council secret again?" she asked, her voice rising in complaint.
Elsa quickly shushed her. "No, no, it's not a council secret. It's just a family secret," she whispered cautiously.
Olivia's brow furrowed in confusion. "Am I some kind of medical experiment then?" she complained.
Elsa hesitated. "Kind of," she whispered.
"What!" Olivia exclaimed, her voice rising in shock.
Elsa hurried to explain. "No, no, it's not what you're thinking. Your great-grandmother was the experiment. We just have some side effects from it, but it doesn't actually make any difference," she said, trying to calm Olivia down.A family secret, a medical experiment? Olivia couldn't believe what her mother was telling her.
