Chapter 25 - Hunting the Grimgoat (2)

In the dark heart of Ashenwood, the atmosphere had turned into a nightmare. Before the incredulous eyes of Marshmallow and the Goat Horse, the zombie goats began a terrifying metamorphosis. Their bodies twisted unnaturally, swelling and deforming under the corrupt influence of the Grimgoat.

"What the hell is going on?" the Goat Horse exclaimed, as the goats grew in size and ferocity. Their claws elongated, transforming into sharp blades, and their fangs menacingly extended. The transformation was a horror to behold: their skin tore and reformed, and the creatures' eyes glowed with even deeper darkness.

Marshmallow, with the Titan Hammer firmly in hand, surveyed the creatures with a mix of horror and determination. "They’re turning into something… bad. The Grimgoat is infusing them with some of his dark power."

The Goat Horse, shaking his head in defiance, got into position. "No matter how much they transform, we have to stop them. And him."

The mutated goats stabilized, adapting to their new forms. They moved more coordinated and menacingly as if the transformation had enhanced their physical strength and ability to act as a single, terrifying entity.

"Get ready, Marshmallow," the Goat Horse said, his voice charged with a mix of anxiety and courage. "This changes the game, but not our goal. We need to adapt and react."

Marshmallow nodded, tightening his grip on the hammer. The two locked eyes momentarily, finding mutual strength in their determined gazes. As the mutated goats approached, menacing like hell's guards, Marshmallow and the Goat Horse quickly assessed the situation. The forest, with its darkness and hiding spots, offered them both advantages and disadvantages.

"Okay, here's the plan," Marshmallow said, his gaze fixed on the advancing creatures. "Let's use the forest and trees to our advantage. If we can split the group, we can manage them better."

The Goat Horse nodded. "Good idea. I'll draw some of the goats' attention. You try to hit the Grimgoat hard!"

Marshmallow lifted the Titan Hammer, ready for action. "Be careful!"

With a swift movement, the Goat Horse transformed into his equine form, gaining speed and agility. He dashed into a wild run, drawing the attention of part of the goats. His move created a gap among the creatures, allowing Marshmallow to approach the Grimgoat.

The Grimgoat, who had been watching the scene with eyes burning with rage, seemed to realize the plan. However, it was too late to react. Marshmallow, taking advantage of the opening, lunged towards the beast with his hammer ready to strike.

"Die, you bastard!"

WHOSH!

The blow missed, as the Grimgoat dodged with a backstep. With a roar that seemed to shake the forest itself, the Grimgoat charged at Marshmallow. Its sharp fangs gleamed in the dim light filtering through the trees. Marshmallow, his heart pounding like a war drum, braced for the impact.

The Grimgoat was a storm of fury, it strikes fast and brutal. Marshmallow, leveraging his mastery of the Titan Hammer, parried the first attack, feeling the weight and power of the weapon in his hands.

"Damn, it's faster than I thought!" he muttered to himself, dodging another violent blow. The Grimgoat was relentless, each attack a challenge to Marshmallow's survival.

The Goat Horse, observing from a safe distance, shouted, "Use your strength, Marshmallow! You can't beat him in speed, but you can crush him with power! You chose the path of power, right?!"

Marshmallow nodded, focusing on the rhythm of the fight. He had to exploit every opening, every moment the Grimgoat left its guard down. With a battle cry, Marshmallow counterattacked, swinging the Titan Hammer at the Grimgoat's flank.

The impact was like thunder, and the Grimgoat was forced to retreat. For a moment, the beast seemed surprised, perhaps unaccustomed to an opponent who could actually inflict pain.

"Hold on, Marshmallow!" the Goat Horse encouraged, his voice a mix of excitement and apprehension.

The Grimgoat, now more furious than ever, resumed its assault with sudden violence. Blow after blow, bites, and claws, Marshmallow found himself defending, trying to find a strategy to turn the tide.

"I need to find its weak spot..." Marshmallow said, parrying another fierce blow. "Something that gives me an advantage."

Meanwhile, the Grimgoat seemed an unstoppable entity, a being of pure destruction. But Marshmallow didn't give up. With every blow he parried, every attack he dodged, his determination grew.

This was the moment he had prepared for, the reason he had faced unimaginable challenges. Marshmallow knew that his victory was not just for himself but for the salvation of his family. He was the Jolly Rank; he couldn't die in this situation.

I won't die now!

With a roar echoing through the trees, Marshmallow counterattacked, launching into a furious assault. With his heart full of courage and his hands firmly on the Titan Hammer, he prepared to respond with all the power he had. It was time to face his destiny.

WHOSH!

Another backstep from the Grimgoat. It had dodged his attack again. And the Grimgoat was back on the offensive. The situation was a stalemate where Marshmallow attacked, and the Grimgoat dodged and counterattacked.

But something seemed different now. In the midst of the clash, as Marshmallow dodged another brutal attack from the Grimgoat, a detail caught his attention. Each time the Grimgoat attacked furiously, a spot on its right flank seemed to contract strangely, almost indicating a weakness.

"Goat Horse, did you see that?" Marshmallow yelled, dodging another blow and pointing at the Grimgoat's flank.

The Goat Horse, nodding with a look of realization, replied, "Yeah, looks like a weak spot! Aim there with your hammer!"

Marshmallow, with this new plan in mind, began to look for the perfect opportunity to strike. He needed to be precise; a single hit in the right place could make all the difference.

Unaware of their discovery, the Grimgoat continued its blind fury, attacking with a violence that seemed to shake the air itself. Marshmallow, taking advantage of his new understanding of the weapon and his growing confidence, began to move more assuredly, setting the stage for the decisive blow.

Waiting for the right moment, Marshmallow positioned himself, his breathing heavy but controlled. With a burst of energy, he lunged forward, the Titan Hammer ready to strike.

The Grimgoat, caught off guard by the sudden attack, tried to parry, but Marshmallow was too fast. With a shout of strength and determination, he brought the hammer down directly on the revealed weak spot.

"AHHHHHH! Suffer!"

The blow was tremendous, a boom that echoed through the forest. The Grimgoat staggered backward, a cry of pain and surprise escaping its bestial throat.

"I did it!" Marshmallow exclaimed, his heart pounding with adrenaline. "I hit the weak spot! It's the right flank!"

The Goat Horse, while continuing to keep the zombie goats at bay, shouted excitedly. "Awesome, Marshmallow! Now keep it up, don't give him a break!"

Marshmallow, feeling the wind of victory in his sails, prepared for another attack. The Grimgoat, now clearly weakened and more cautious, looked at Marshmallow with eyes full of rage and desperation.

The ground trembled under the impact of blows exchanged by Marshmallow and the Grimgoat in the dark forest, turning the area into a chaotic battlefield. The Grimgoat's imposing and menacing figure advanced with blind fury, while Marshmallow, firmly wielding the Titan Hammer, responded with powerful and decisive strikes.

"I won't give up!" Marshmallow shouted, dodging a particularly aggressive attack from the Grimgoat. Every movement of the creature was a mix of raw power and unnatural speed, making the fight a series of rapid attacks and desperate dodges.

The Goat Horse, for his part, kept at a strategic distance, ready to intervene at any moment. "Marshmallow, watch out on your left!" he shouted, pointing to an imminent bite from the Grimgoat.

The forest had become a labyrinth of broken branches and uprooted trunks, silent witnesses to the titanic struggle. Marshmallow, breathing heavily, tried to anticipate each move of the Grimgoat, looking for a breach in its indomitable ferocity.

A particularly heavy blow from the Grimgoat sent Marshmallow rolling to the ground, leaving him momentarily disoriented. "Damn, it's strong!" he muttered, quickly getting up and regaining control of the hammer.

The Grimgoat, taking advantage of the moment of weakness, lunged at Marshmallow with a roar that resonated like thunder among the trees. Marshmallow, with surprising agility, managed to dodge at the last second, allowing the creature to crash into a massive tree.

"Now!" the Goat Horse exclaimed, pointing to the momentarily disoriented Grimgoat. Marshmallow didn't waste any time and, with a battle cry, launched an attack, hitting the Grimgoat with a series of rapid and heavy blows.
