One moment, he just walked down the street, and the next moment, Daniel Dew stood in a clearing of some sort of forest. "What?", he said.

The clearing is half a dozen across and it located amidst tall trees with bluish-purple flowers between them. The flowers is also in the clearing and there is a few of them near his leg. The trees have brown trunks and dense green treetops. The branch is long and gnarled.

"Am i hallucinating?", he wondered. But, this feel real, Daniel thinks. He pinched his arm and he can felt that and then he bend down to touch the grass beneath his feet and he can felt that too.

The air felt different too. It's like the air in a place where there's not many pollution. And there's all sort of wildlife's noise, bug buzzing, leaf rustling, and bird singing.

Daniel stood straighter and took a deep breath and a moment to take his bearing. He wore a brown pants, a white shirt, a leather belt, a black hoodie and a white and black shoe. He have messy black hair, black eyes, straight nose, and a somewhat handsome face.

"Hello?", Daniel cupped his mouth and said with a loud voice. "Is there anyone out there?". Nobody answered him except the usual wildlife's noise.

He become a bit panicked because he never alone in a forest before and this doesn't feel like a prank. So, he took a deep breath again. And then, a few more.

Maybe there is a civilization nearby, Daniel thinks. So, he pick a random direction and start walking.

Meanwhile, a Slime has just been appeared out of nowhere. It, for lack of a better word, blinking. It's doesn't have eyes. Or any other organ, for that matter. It's an amorphous, shapeless, gooey creature, that made of of green... thingy, and a core. But, it did have some kind of sensory system supplied by it's core and a bit of magic. Which it used for seeing, hearing, and... blinking.

If it's have an ability to think, maybe it'ill be wondering why it's surrounding suddenly different. But, it didn't, it's simply relied on it's instinct, which had been honed through peril all throughout it's life.

The Slime is in the process of hunting for food when it was suddenly transfered over, and if it have the ability to, it gonna be slightly annoyed. But, it didn't, so it's simply resolved to try again in this new place. Maybe it'ill have more luck this time.

So, it's listening to it's instinct and hearing to pick up a possible source of food, again. And it did pick up a sound. Without further ado, it's started oozed toward the sound.

As it happen, the sound that the Slime heard is the sound that Daniel made as he slowly walked through the forest.

Where am i?. He thought. He took the sight as he walk, the flowers, the trees, it's quite beuatiful, except for the green sludge- wait, what?

Indeed, when he take a second look, there is indeed a green sludge slowly oozed it's way to him. It came from ahead of him and slightly to the right.

What is that? Daniel wondered. Some kind of animal?. It reminded him of a slime, actually. He got a bit curios, so he decided to poke it with a stick. He looked around and find a fallen branch, he took it and shove it inside the green slime. The part that went in immediatly started to sizzling and melt while have no noticable effect on the slime. And it just keep moving toward him. Good thing i'm not using my finger he thought.

At first, he decided to just ignore it and continue on his quest to find civilization, but when he look behind him, he noticed that the slime following him. He stop, turn around, and took a few step to the left, and the slime changed direction to face toward him. He took a few step to the right, and the slime changed direction again to face toward him.

If he is uncertain before, now he definitly certain that the slime is following him.

The slime is slow, so Daniel can easily outpaced it. But he didn't really want to have to worry about it following him and melted his face off when he wasn't looking either.

So, with the branch that he still hold in his hand, he started beating the slime while still maintain a healthy distance from it himself.

Like before, it didn't have any noticable effect on it. That is, except for a bit of it's body flying off and didn't came back.

Noticed it, Daniel started to swing the branch from left to right, and vice versa, instead. He see bit by bit of it's body flying and it's started getting smaller. A bit of it flying toward him and it make his skin sizzled.

Despite this, it still keep moving toward him, and Daniel keep swinging. When he exposed it's core, it's suddenly rear back and it's looked like it's hurt and screaming. Except there is no sound.

Enraged, it lunged toward Daniel and took him by surprise. It succesfully engulfed his right hand, which started to sizzling and hurt.

"Fuck!" Daniel swear. He immediatly took a few step back and looked at his right hand which have an angry red rash on it.

Enraged himself, Daniel started to beating and swinging his branch where he saw the core last time with raged fervor.

The Slime, suddenly feared for it's life started to flee.

"Oh no, you don't." Daniel said. He keep beating the slime 'till it's stopped moving.

When it did, Daniel sagged with relief.

And then, the adrenaline leaved his body, which started to realized that it hurt and exhausted from the activity.

Daniel sit down to rest and released his hold on the tree branch which have hole and melted part on it. The tip of the branch just outright disappear.

While he rested his body, two things happened simultaneously.

A flash of light.

And a message appeared in his vision.

[Congratulations! You have got a new Class!]

[Warrior! Level 1!]
