Chapter 6: The preparation for training.

Chapter 6: The preparation for training.

3 hours later and hard, we have finished the making of my room. It is nothing to special just a bed frame with no mattress yet but there should be a comfortable mattress somewhere in the stockpile of resources we have and they have gone overboard and surprized me even more with how much stuff they did stockpile in just a day.

“Arthor, come with me in the next half an hour” I hear from behind us while we were looking at my beauty of craftsmanship, we turn to face Jackson who is prepared to leave for war having a sniper that is different from the one I have from when I raided the military base.

I nod at him and look back at mark who is looking at me as well with questions wanting to be answered, I shrug as I don’t even know what he want so I grab my jacket and coat quickly put on the jacket and wrap my cloak around me before I could exit my room Jackson comes back and walks in and hands me a backpack that he has also has on his back “Grab your sniper as well we are heading past the base so we can pick up rounds along the way and mark go help you sister she has just gotten back from there and is currently wanting help to get some stuff from there” he says putting on his helmet.

“May I ask what we are going to be doing Jackson” He turns back to face me “Well you did say that you wanted to become a hunter like me did you not?” I look at him with surprise, we are going to do this now even though we need to finish this place but it is a liveable state at this moment.

“Go I can do the rest that needs to be done as I am better at building stuff then you” Mark says behind me with a little bit a jealousy being added in as well, I walk to where my helmet is grab it and put it on and walk down to grab the sniper and throw the sling over my shoulder and grab the holster with the pistol in it and strap it on to my thigh.

I meet Jackson at the front door “You got ready more faster than I has expected” he opens the door to a calm weather outside “Today is the perfect day for a hunter to be trained in until you have to learn how to snipe and maintain your weapon in weather where it freezes you bullets and gun” he says like someone who has had years of experience which he does but his normal way of tone is wise and knowledgeable and now it is a teacher who is passing techniques from a family line of professional’s, I need to find some documents about that or ask Jackson as I doubt Merry and Mark would know anything about their family line.

He walks out and towards the base I follow suit but close the door behind me, I turn my head to look behind and both Mark and Merry Following us which with what they’re doing is fair, one thing did surprise me though is how Merry with the description I gave her managed to find the place. I turn my head back to face forward and enjoy the walk that we are going to be on for a little while.

“Arthor, let me ask one question” I look over at him “What is the snipers worst enemy?” the snipers worst enemy? Weather, no because if a sniper is good enough they can snipe in any condition no matter what but gravity which has the bullet drop of a sniper for distance’s because velocity of the bullet need to be high in order to shoot long ranges.

“The velocity and bullet drop of the weapon the sniper is holding” I answer “Wrong any sniper with any sniper will do well with it but the one thing that gets all snipers except for a few is self-control on when to pull trigger” he really is all knowing “Now hunters are different with one weakness which is…” he pauses so that I can answer “the persons personality as from story’s you have told us and when at Wick a hunter is an elite sniper that does let any emotion or their personality get in the way but a few can have their emotions and personality get involved if they are at a level of knowing the what the world looks like the people who have that call it ‘The Seeing Eyes’ and from people who seen people with it say that there is nothing that is possible to get in there way” He nods with what I think he has a big grin for what I know “That is somewhat correct and wrong, it is the person and how they go about being a hunter that is that is there weakness for you I don’t think you will have either of these weaknesses” he states, he breaths out slowly then a deep breath in “But first I need to test you to see if you can handle becoming a hunter under one of the great family’s”

There is so much I don’t know at this point and it is interesting how much I don’t not know “So what is it that we are going to do to train me?” I ask curious about what we are going to do “We are going to head for a forest not far from the base for a month a least so I can train you in survival and maintaining your weapon in the cold as it is important to know and be a regular habit” he said as we reached the Armory and headed inside.

Me and Jackson both went to where I had found the sniper and went down an isle or something of the sort and grabbed some ammunition and dummies rounds as well as to not use up all the ammunition of real rounds while I train.

After we acquired a big quantity of ammunition to last us a while, Jackson walks to a door that leads somewhere, I look around to see if I can a sign to see what the room is called or where it leads to, after a short amount of time looking for a sign I find one saying ‘Uniforms and Armour’ so what he is trying to acquire is Plate carrier’s and armoured plates to be used along some other stuff that I do not of as I am not military but some stuff I do now is the more really known stuff that is used in the military.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

I walk over with him looking at the door handle “Someone has left it unlocked” he says with a sour face, I look at him and pull out my knife from its holster and hold in a ready position, Jackson does the same and places his hand on the doorknob and pushes down until a click was heard, he looked back at me, I nod my head to say I am ready to head in.

He swings open the door while I rush in finding the closest piece of cover to the door and look around to see a wolf not happy with us barging in on his home I quickly move from where I was and make cover behind a pillar making as much noise as I can to draw the wolf to me and away from the others, my task failed as another pounced out of the shadows on to me, knocking my knife out of my hand and barrelling away, about 4-5 meters from me.

With the mut on top of me trying to gnaw at my neck to where it no longer wants to exist, I try my best to keep its head away from said neck of mine. I hold the top and bottom of the wolfs jaws to keep it away, one of my hands slipped and ended up at the base of the neck just below where the skull should start with a wolf. I slowly move that hand up to the bottom of its head and slowly move to where my knife.

As I continued to slide my way back I feel a sharp point that is most likely my knife, I close the wolfs maw shout and have my other hand swing around to grab my knife feeling it I wrap my hand around it feel pain as it is sharp all over and cutting into my hand I bring it around and turn the mut’s head to where I can stab it in the eye with what I thought was my knife.

I turn its head with some struggle as it was trying to escape the hole I had it in, I turn its head to point where I have a straight shot to hit in its eye and swing the hand from behind my back to it eye piercing it with a piece of broken glass. It pulls back with yelps and whining shacking it head to deluge the object that I stuck in, with it doing that blood was being splat all over where the wolf was.

I get to feet and look around franticly to find my knife that had been lost, I find but it is near another wolf. How many can there be in here, out of the corner of my eye I see a bit a rebar laying there, unsure of where it came from I pick it up and ready it to fight.

The wolf I had stabbed stopped franticly flailing around as the sound of it struggling and yipping and yapping had stopped so I think it is dead, the wolf in front of me ponces to get on top of me I bring up the piece of rebar I am holding to let it impale itself on it, before it does though I feel a sharp pain in my leg like something is bitting into it, I ignore the pain for now and focus on the wolf jumping at me as it is getting closer, I find the spot that was best area to impale it from where I am.

When it started to come down I trusted forward to hit the area I was looking at which was where the sternum would be located in the skeletal system, it pierces through the sternum and continues I let go grab with both hands what feels like fur and brig hoist it up to where it could be hit by the rebar as well and move out of the way to not be pierced as well, I struggle to do so as what I think is a wolf is pinning me there, I look down to my leg where the pain is coming from and see a small but still big wolf biting my leg.

I then see the rebar come into view and time seems to slowdown as the rebar slowly impales the wolf, I see its eyes open wide as the pain of the rebar enter fills it mind most likely, it stops to gnaw at my leg and turns its head to nip at what dears hurt it.

Time begins to speed up to normal as the wolf falls back and is pinned by the rebar I used, the size of it starting to make me understand how I was able to handle it so effortlessly and somewhat hard to mauver around due to how long it was. I look down to my leg to where I was I being bitten, I see blood and nothing else, I look to my hand I see a cut which is just needing a bandage.

After looking at my body and seeing nothing serious injury wise I look around to find my knife, I find it at the bottom of a mound of a snow, I pick it up and head over to the door and look in inside to see if the others where good to find them running over to door with a body of a wolf behind them with what looks like a spear coming out of it, How did they get a spear or when did they create one “Arthor are you ok?” Mark yelled while trying to yank the spear out of the wolf “Yeah just a bite on my leg and a cut on my hand” I say calmly for some reason, why am I so calm about this?

Before I could even think another sentence my hand started to flair with pain, I look at where my was pulled to seeing Merry using some alcohol wipes to wipe away blood and see the cut, see looks at my hand little bit more before she starts to wrap it in bandages “Merry don’t wrap his wound that much with bandages it should heal over in a couple hours or so although the bite is a bit of concern” Jackson said walking over slowly from the uniform room “Yes uncle I will make sure to do so *Sigh* sit down and show me your leg” I do as ask from the aspersing medic of the group I roll up my pants to have her look at it “Only a few scratch’s and indents the layered pants must have taken most of the impact” I nod and stand back up and see mark walking out of the room looking at me “What did I do this time?” I ask, he rise’s his eyebrows and points to the door, I nod slowly.

I walk over to the room and enter it seeing the aftermath of my fight with the wolves, a wolf slowly descending down a piece of rebar towards another wolf impaled on the ground and in the corner a wolf with a shard of broken glass is laying down.

I look around a bit more to find the armour and plate carriers and magazines as we don’t have any for our newly acquired guns, Jackson comes around a corner holding two bags filled with stuff and two carriers, he is a ninja he was outside walking away now he is here, I walk to the area he walked from and find some plate carriers I grab one and walk to where some magazines should be located but if the sign is lying to me it is going to enjoy being a sign that tells the truth later on.

I find some for my pistol and some for my sniper located further down, I stash some in my bag and fill some, 1 mag each can hold 15 bullets and I fill 10 out of the 15 I had, I walk down to where the mags for the sniper are and fill 6 up each holding 7 bullets each and the rest I did the exact same with the pistol mags and stuffed the 6 left over in my bag.

At this point I can finally say we armed and safe but we need to train with these so that we can keep that safety.
