Airis Vanixi and Julius Adaemus are reunited with the refugees and divisional army under the command of Hailey Brooks.

Facing supply shortages and the unknown threat of coup d'état forces remaining in Axio; surviving in the wilderness of the Commonlands was not an option. Airis lays out a plan which, according to her second-in-command, was just crazy enough to work: Lay siege to the old fortress city of Tolin.

Shortly after arriving, the divisional army is attacked by demons. Airis and her party secure a narrow victory against the enormous Ettin, Gigas. That night the camp is plagued with dreadful nightmares.

The divisionals form a raiding party to attack the demon directly. One-hundred and seventy-two brave souls enter the looming fortress of Tolin, the Citadel. Assaulted by void magick and waves of undead warriors, the raid pushed further into to the heart of the demonic stronghold, reaching the Archdemon.

Asteryith holds the divisional army back, until it damages the Citadel in a wild rage. Airis and her forces regroup and put the demon on the defensive—or so they thought.

Ultimately, victory was achieved… But at what cost?
