Chapter 2516 Era of Darkness

CHAPTER 2516  ERA OF DARKNESS

A historic resolution had been formed.

They would go ahead with the strategy of the Emperor of Harmony as long as the solutions  provided by the Dawnbringer and the Esoterist were viable enough, and as long as the rest of the Ecologer's briefing did not introduce any new variables or information that would affect their calculations.

"Quite the opposite." The Ecologer's voice was calm, even as she expressed a hint of admiration for the Emperor of Harmony. "I believe this strategy will become even more significant when I inform you of the final condition to end the Beast Incursion."

In an instant, her words firmly drew in the attention of all the leaders of human civilization. The final solution to ending the Beast Incursion and restoring things to how they used to be was an extremely important matter to all human leaders. Although defense and supply-chain disruptions were the short-term and most urgent priorities in their minds, all of them were deeply desperate to know how to end the Beast Incursion and restore things to how they used to be. "It is rather simple," she calmly informed them. "You must slay the inception of the Beast Incursion. You must slay the beast that roared. Doing so will undo the influence it has over  all the beasts and monsters that it has unleashed on human civilization. That is the conclusion to the Beast Incursion. If this does not happen, the Beast Incursion will never end."

Instantly, the air darkened.

The beast that roared.

They had each heard the horrifying roar that had emerged from the depths of the Beast Domain. It was the single most terrifying sound that they had ever heard in their entire lives. On top of that, the inferences of how powerful this creature was from the words of the Ecologer was despairing.

"We will overcome."

The powerful voice of Sage Jinryoung Namgung, the Reverend of Reckoning, weighed down on the atmosphere.

"If that is the tribulation we must overcome, then so be it," he declared.

The Martial Sage leaders present in the conference hall nodded.

"Amitabha, no hurdle may hold us back should we unify in harmony." Bodhisattva Maitreyi nodded with closed eyes.

"I approve of that sentiment." Sage Asmodeus's voice was dark. "I, too, am in favor of hunting the beast that dared to declare war against mankind."

"The Blood Cult is in agreement with that initiative."

"The Heaven Sect also approves." This belongs to .

"The Hive is in agreement."

One by one, the Sage-level powerhouses expressed their approval of this initiative.

"The Kandrian Empire approves." Emperor Rael smiled. "May we overcome this tribulation indeed."

The Ecologer smiled at a historic sight of human unity.

It was unfortunate that it took a hellish apocalypse that could spell the destruction of humanity to unite these nations, of course. Under ordinary circumstances, they would have never united so easily.

"I am pleased to see that the information that I have gathered and analyzed in the span of one month is yielding powerful outcomes," she remarked. "For now, that brings us to an end of my segment of this summit. I have done my duty and informed you of the most important elements of analysis. There are many more minor discoveries I have made such as the impacts of the Beast Incursion on the environment and ecology. This includes the disruption of communication technology, the esoterification of human territory caused by esoteric bacteria from the beasts commencing special chemical cycles that will alter the chemical composition of human territory, turning it more like that of the Beast Domain. There is not enough time to go over all these in this briefing. Thus, the Beggar's Sect will provide all of you with an information package that I have personally written, detailing all of these elaborately."

Their expressions soured at some of the less central issues that she mentioned.

It was no surprise that esoteric communication technology would be disrupted if the death of beasts and monsters caused the introduction of bacteria that would cause the alteration of the environment to make it more like that of the Beast Domain where communication was almost entirely jammed due the region's flux-inhibition properties.

This was yet another thing that they were grateful to the Ecologer for having informed them of this phenomenon ahead of time. "I conclude my presentation with a solemn declaration that I believe is true from the bottom of my heart." Her tone contained a hint of finality as her eyes narrowed. "The Age of Martial Art has come to an end."

The many Martial Artists among the leaders narrowed their eyes.

"This is not an insult to Martial Art, no," she explained. "The Age of Martial Art was dubbed the way it is because Martial Art was the most defining force in our era. However, the epoch of the Beast Incursion has dawned a new era. An era where the endless beast tides have become the most dominant force affecting our civilization. Thus, as the Ecologer and one of the sages of human civilization, I hereby declare the birth of a new era."

Her expression darkened.

"The Era of Darkness."

The leaders of human civilization had every right to decry her ominous declaration. But unfortunately, her reasoning was too sound. The Council of Human Affairs, an independent international body formed by the powerhouses of human civilization, would most likely find her reasoning to be sound and firm and follow through for an official calendar change reflecting the change in era, especially with the information that she had revealed in her presentation regarding how long the Beast Incursion would last.

"As leaders of human civilization, I hope that you will lead human civilization through this dark era characterized by a fractured civilization on the verge of destruction, shrouded in darkness," she spoke earnestly. "I hope that you will lead us to emerge from the Era of Darkness into one of light. May the name of this new era and the stain it is on human civilization remind all of you of your duty to all of human civilization."
