CHAPTER 2492 HUMAN SUMMIT
"Your Majesty, His Highness has just submitted a report that he's…'borrowing Ieyasu' on the battlefield as remuneration for a project that he is working on."
Emperor Rael heaved a sigh of resignation.
He had absolutely no idea what that was supposed to mean, but he didn't bother even contacting Rui about it. He knew that Rui did as he pleased, especially since he possessed an extraordinary amount of power and influence within the Kandrian Empire. On top of that, he knew that Rui had contributed priceless treasures to the Kandrian Empire in a remarkably selfless way.
And yet, his son could also be exceptionally selfish in other times, causing immense problems for others and using his contributions to the Kandrian Empire as an excuse to make other people's lives harder for his own personal gains.
"Find another peak Master to lead the Master-level battlefront for the next shift. Compensate them with heavy incentives," Emperor Rael replied his Royal Secretary with a composed tone.
"Understood, Your Majesty."
He had more important things to look into.
"Any word from the Adventurer's Guild on when it will be holding its Human Summit?"
"Not yet, Your Majesty," his Royal Secretary replied. "The Kandrian Intelligence Bureau projects that it will still take some more time for the Adventurer's Guild to prepare a thorough briefing for all of human civilization on the calamity of the Beast Incursion."
The Adventurer's Guild was the most knowledgeable organization when it came to the Beast Domain. No organization or nation in the world had a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the Beast Domain than the Adventurer's Guild. Thus, when it announced a human summit where it would produce an analytical and prescriptive report on the Beast Incursion and what the most optimal strategic approach was, the surviving nations of humanity had been desperately waiting for it. Most of them still had absolutely no idea why the Beast Incursion was happening or what the best short-term strategy and long-term solution were. Emperor Rael was especially keen on hearing their detailed and analysis and policy prescription report as the experts of the Beast Domain who were most equipped to understand the Beast Incursion and understand how human civilization could adaptively evolve to this devastating apocalypse that had already killed billions of humans in less than two days and destroyed trillions of gold coins worth of capital.
This was especially so because he had lost his own Beast Domain expert, the Elder Tree. Without the tree's sagely guidance on how to deal with the influx of beasts and monsters, the Kandrian Empire was nowhere near as well-equipped to tackle such a horrifying apocalypse in the long run. The worst part of all of this was the fact that Emperor Rael was outside of his comfort zone this time. He was outside of his field of expertise and mastery, compared to the war.
With the war, he knew exactly what he was dealing with three years ahead of time. He knew how politics, economics, and geopolitics worked better than any other human alive. He knew how to read people like books, how to manipulate them and their nations by exploiting fault lines that nobody else saw.
This was not the case with the Beast Incursion. He was not an expert on beasts and monsters, at all. That made him extremely cautious and anxious compared to the third Great East Panamic War.
And unlike his greatest rival, Prime Minister Edward, he had no ego that stopped him from seeking help or admitting when was out of his depth.
That was why he was looking forward to the Adventurer's Guild's summit where it would produce a report and a presentation to the leaders of the Martial world and the leaders of the political sphere on what were the facts of the matter and what was the best way to handle this matter.
"The Intelligence Bureau has managed to gather some pieces of important intelligence on the upcoming human summit, Your Majesty," his Royal Security informed him. "According to them, the Human Summit will have massive implications for the future of human civilization. They believe that the Adventurer's Guild's solution will be as extreme as it is revolutionary."
Emperor Rael frowned. "What is the basis for this judgment? The Adventurer's Guild is not the most competent organization. It was founded by a Martial Sage who has no background in bureaucracy, administration, or management."
"According to the Intelligence Bureau's most recent update, they believe that Adventurer's Guild's analysis and solution to the Beast Incursion for all of human civilization will be pioneered by four human sages," she calmly replied with a composed tone.
And yet, her words were stunning.
Emperor Rael stirred where he sat as his powerful gaze shifted to his secretary.
"Which ones?"
"So far, the intelligence points towards the Ecologer, the Esoterist, and the Beggar Sage."
Emperor Rael fell into deep thought as he considered the sheer magnitude of these revelations.
After working with the Divine Doctor, he understood just how extraordinary human sages were. They were the most accomplished prodigious geniuses and the highest authorities in their fields. On top of that, he worked with the Esoterist before, securing his alliance in the third Great East Panamic Treaty War to incapacitate the Sekigahara Confederate as an external threat. The Esoterist was so brilliant that he had managed to create a Sage-level powerhouse, albeit the weakest one so far, without the active utility of a single Martial Artist.
Emperor Rael recalled how he had apparently been considered as a candidate for becoming a human sage due to his absolute loyalty to a single nation as opposed to all of humanity. "Four human sages working on the solution is extremely promising." Emperor Rael nodded. "The Ecologer is an obvious choice as the greatest genius and expert in the field of ecology and zoology. I'm assuming the Beggar Sage is contributing to intelligence supply, allowing them to get both a microscopic and macroscopic view of human civilization and the Beast Incursion. As for the Esoterist… it can be surmised that the prescription that they have prepared will make use of utility."
He turned towards his secretary with a raised eyebrow. "And just who is the fourth one?"
"There is no intelligence on that just yet, Your Majesty."
"Hm, update me the moment there is," Emperor Rael remarked as he fell into thought.
He wondered who the final sage could be.
