I landed on the floor hard, my elbow hurting from taking the blow of my landing. As I sat up, cupping my cheek with one hand, and my elbow with the other, I looked up at the elven woman.
"What the hell was that for!" I demanded.
"Shut up, you rude leering oppressor!" She shouted back at me before turning on her heel and storming out the door behind her.
I got to my feet intending to follow her and demand answers only there was an elven man standing in the doorway blocking me from doing just that.
“Please forgive her my Lord, it is rare for us to come across an oppressor at such a young age, I am certain you have not been influenced by your race yet but not all my people are so certain and blame you for their oppression, I also have no doubt you are wondering how you got to be in this bed.” he said calmly to me.
I nodded my head as I stared at him. He smiled and continued.
“the ship has a cloaking device built into its shield array it makes the ship look like an ancient derelict ship even though it mostly is” he let out a soft chuckle before continuing.
“You floated right into the cargo bay in the back of the ship where we found you and then brought you to the medical bay, you woke up and looked a little too longingly at an unmarried elf woman’s ears some of my people would believe this to be a marriage proposal but your not an elf so instead you got punished for leering.”
He then turned and made a follow me motion with his hand as he walked away, I moved across the room and out the door to follow him, my mind running with a hundred questions.
“We have disabled your implant, the damn thing was broadcasting our location so we are in the process of moving the ship to a new hidden location, hopefully, a better one this time.”
He told me as we walked. It was not long before we walked past a door that made me stop in my tracks and stare as I saw a room full of chambers with a range of people inside them suspended off the floor in rows like you would expect to see on a cryo ship from games. Thousand and thousands of cryo chambers were in this room, with what looked like humans. I did notice some of those humans had cat ears and tails!
“Ah those are humans and catsith that escaped from planet kalibuna after your people decided to cull the planet to extinction.” He told me before turning and continuing down the hallway.
Before I turned to follow him I noticed a few of the catsith with facial features like an elf.
“Perhaps they are half-elf and half catsith” I thought to myself as I hurried to catch up with my guide.
“If I remember correctly the catsith in that room are from the sluttykittens pride so aptly named because they were into the fertility thing pretty heavily” he let out a laugh as he turned into a doorway that opened to a mess hall complete with a kitchen and a few food dispensing machines.
I turned to look at the elf and asked.
“Why do you keep calling me oppressor?”
He looked into my eyes for a while as if searching for something before he finally said.
“Because that is what your race has done." he waved his hand at all the people sitting in the mess hall before continuing.
“Some time ago, generations for us, some of your common class vampires seized control of what was meant to be a system to help and make life easier but they took it and turned it into a system that limits our natural abilities preventing us from using them. That is the system you have been using, we came to call that system the limiter as it limits your abilities and power only letting you have trickles of it. Allowing those in control to keep all the power and shut not only the pureblood vampires who were once the nobility of your race but everyone else out of amassing too much power keeping us all weak."
He looked into my eyes meaningfully before continuing.
"You will find proof of this in the fact that none of the elders that rule clans are pureblood.”
I turned to look at him as I blurted out.
“I am, I am a pureblood that has been given a clan to name and rule.”
His hand shot out grabbing my upper arm, he pulled me out of the mess hall and into the hallway his face becoming very serious, he shook his head.
“That is not possible there are very strict guidelines in place for your people they can not simply declare a freshly born vampire an elder.”
As he was saying this he was guiding me to a door several feet further down the hall before pushing me into a conference room.
“But it is true, Lord Johnathan Ardinton, elder of the Ardinton clan used his authority to name me clan elder, he was in a battle defending the space station I was born on and I think he was losing the fight, so…” I trailed off as the elf began to shake his head again.
“That is not good, if what you say is true then in a moment of desperation a king was born.”
He looked at me then laughed as he shook his head.
“I am sorry but this is hard to believe, Nakiasha the lady who slapped you is currently running diagnostics on your implant she will have access to all your implants information and will be your judge and jury.”
He smiled softly before moving around the big table to sit at the head chair placing his hands on the table with his fingers interlocked as he watched me.
“What do you mean my judge and jury?” I asked him with a little bit of nervousness in my voice.
I did not like the sound of it, like I was on trial or something.
“I mean exactly that you are on trial for your crimes should any be found. We will carry out sentencing and punishment for said crimes however if what you claim is found to be true then we will help you with what little we have.” He calmly explained to me as he motioned with one of his hands for me to sit down on a chair.
I slowly walked over to a chair sinking into it as I tried to wrap my head around what was happening. While I was sitting there I noticed two big men with tusks coming out of there mouths, they looked like they would be at home in a bodybuilders gym, came into the room and took up guard positions by the door as I tried to come to terms with the fact that I might die here again.
"But die for what? I haven't even done anything yet, I am fine, I have broken no laws… but this guy calls me an oppressor, maybe I will be blamed for something my race has done and I will be punished in their place…wait are those ogres?"
Panicking in my head I watched everyone stare at me as I tried to keep a calm cool exterior, I nearly jumped out of my chair when the door opened to let Nakiasha into the room. She walked over and pushed a cylinder to the side of my head and pressed the button at the end of it I felt the liquid slide in between my skin and skull before she said.
“You are hereby punished king Michelle!” She then turned around and walked back out the room without saying anything more.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
I clasped my hand over my head where she had injected me with that stuff, as I let out a yelp.
“What the hell?” I complained as I stared angrily at the closed door.
The elf man sitting at the end of the table suddenly started to laugh as he waved the big guys to leave he smiled to me.
“My name is Respen Taako, I was born seven thousand nine hundred and forty-six galactic years ago, I am the last elf on this ship that was alive during the great oppression, would you like to hear how it came to pass?”
I nodded my head curiously as I watched Respen. He smiled at me then slowly slipped to an expression of deep sorrow.
"No one really knows when the vampire race was created, only that it began on a planet called sil'kroach. A mad scientist decided to splice the DNA of seventy-three humans with the DNA of animals to create a super soldier for their war efforts against the kobolds. However, in her insanity, she spliced together the DNA of the deadliest of creatures. Nine deadly creatures became a part of these humans' DNA. They received the healing and regenerative properties from the first, the speed and agility from the second, longevity and perfect health from the third, the strength and toughness from the fourth, the hunger and desire for blood from the sixth, intelligence and wisdom from the seventh, the charisma and charm from the eighth and lastly they received the patience and stealth of the ninth creature. Seven women and one man survived. They became known as the original vampires. From them, many women were born and many mutts were created.
When the war was won and it came time for them to become part of history, they proved very difficult to kill as in they couldn't die. The humans threw everything they had at the vampires, only the purebloods survived. They grew back from a single cell even a burnt ash one would do. The humans couldn't kill them, so they locked them away."
I frowned at him.
"This isn't about the revolution." I told him.
He instantly glared at me.
"To tell you how the revolution went I must first tell you how everything began! Now do not interrupt me again."
I closed my mouth quickly and nodded my head. He stared at me for a few more seconds before continuing his story.
"In that vault, the purebloods waited. Many have theories on how they could have escaped and why they didn't. What is known is the thirty-one vampires, thirty of them women. Was laying on the floor when the vault opened again. The woman that found them thought she had found some government dirty harem secret. She of course foolishly left the door open when she ran to tell whoever it was she told.
The vampires escaped. Only a woman remained sitting cross-legged in the middle of the room. She gave a message to the humans that came back to see what the young researcher had discovered. The last vampire simply said to them.
You created us, you used us, you sent us to war and when you were done you locked us away and forgot us. We are not happy so we have declared our independence. We have left and will not return. However, I have remained to deliver the following message to you.
The researchers seemed to go into a bit of detail on how scared the smile she gave them before she delivered the message."
The elf stopped here staring at me. Looking for something in my eyes. He then sighed and continued his story.
"You forgot to feed us. The woman then got up and left.
Over the following years, a lot of people were reported missing and nothing came off it until an entire town vanished overnight. On the town hall's front wall was written a message in blood that said you forgot to feed us and now we have fed ourselves but we are still hungry.
After this, the military was mobilized and many skirmishes and a war occurred. The humans of course lost every time. After the war, the vampires delivered a message to the humans that made them decide that they wanted off the entire planet."
Respen laughed as he lifted a device and looked at its screen he nodded his head before he continued his story.
"The message the humans received was. ‘Fun game, shall we play again?’ The humans of course didn't have the technology to leave the planet so they went underground becoming nomads digging and shifting trying to stay ahead of the vampires. They discovered the first vampire weakness down there in those holes. The closer to the planet core the vampires got the slower they became, they became more lethargic.
The humans built a large city down there in the bottom of their holes. The skirmishes became more even and after a while and many kidnappings the vampires pulled back to the surface. However, the humans did not remain still, they researched and expanded their technology creating the first deep sleep chambers allowing their leaders to sleep centuries without aging.
Like time stood still for them. From there they advanced until they reached the belief they had created a viable way to leave the planet on what they called arc ships. And they did it. Twenty-eight arc ships. They had drills on their noses to bring them to the surface, then discarded the drills and launched flying into the sky."
He paused here his hand in the air as if it was the rocket leaving the atmosphere. He grinned at me before his hand dropped back to the table.
"But sadly for the humans three arcs failed to reach space, two burned up in the atmosphere and one fell back to the ground. One of the arcs that managed to escape, made it to my homeworld.
At first, they were friendly and shared their technology with us for food and medicine and land, but generations passed and they forgot. Their memory's so short.
Soon they wanted more and a war between the humans and us elves began. This went on for a while.
As for the vampires well they swarmed over the wreck and pulled humans from deep sleep feeding on the useless or corralling them into food camps. The engineers though. There were six of them per arc to fix any problems that might occur.
Well, the vampires turned them into mutts and gave them long lives. They became half-vampire. They fixed the arc and launched it. But it never left the planet's orbit. There they built space stations and shipyards. They took ownership of the planet in its entirety.
Then they spread out into the Galaxy looking for what they claimed was their property. The humans. The entire time the seven women who called themselves the kings of sil'kroach, lead everything.
You see, the vampires were a matriarchal society and the men were treated barely better than the human slaves they owned. They expanded so fast. No one could stop them. Wherever they went. They claimed what they wanted or left only bloodless corpses in their wake.
We have alot of doubts that they ever managed to track down all the arcs before the revolution occurred. You see the male vampires got tired of being treated as disposable breeding stock for their women and they gathered together taking over several frigates and vanished into deep space with them. But this was of course unknown to king Lalaina. Who was the king that arrived on our planet.
The youngest of the kings. She was only seventeen when they experimented on her. She was kind and courteous to our people. Explained how the humans. Were escaped prisoners of her planet and requested permission from our government to round them up and take them back to her planet.
However, during the negotiations that my Grandfather hosted with our race's representatives and king Lalaina which included explanations on how their society worked. While this was going on the other six kings began to fight amongst themselves declaring they should be the ones to lead them all.
Of course, we didn't know this and remained blissfully unaware. The negotiations went well enough I suppose. We managed to save many of the humans' freedom while honoring the vampires' claims to them by offering to build a prison around the humans and keep them locked away on our planet.
We told the humans we were building them a refuge from the vampires. They didn't believe us at first but quickly got on board when they realised the crew of the vampire ship had been stealing humans to feed on during the negotiations.
This caused other arguments to crop up between all sides of course. But we managed to work them out. Peace returned to our planet and we began building our own space stations around our planet. Vampire ships would visit every now and then. We eventually started exploring out into deep space.
It was during this time the seven frigates came back. They brought with them the system. They spread this system to everyone. Claiming they had found it in a remote world. The natives of that world used it to teach themselves how to do all sorts of tasks and activities.
Once it had spread and become part of daily life for everyone. Those males then seized control and used this system to do so. They forced restrictions on the powers and ability of not just their woman but everyone else as well. This is what has led to what you see today."
He waved his hands around a bit to indicate all of space before glancing down at his device again.
"Ah good. The nanites have managed to eat away the little device in your skull. That device called the limiter is now gone."
He laughed and stood up from the table.
"You are now free from the oppression of your menfolk and can rise to be a true king of the vampire race."
He then walked around the table and stopped at the door.
"There is a shuttle waiting for you on the flight deck, it will take you to a frigate class ship that will drop you off at a shipyard on its way to deliver whatever cargo it's hauling. I suggest you get on it quickly, for the crew of this ship are starting to remember all the things your race has caused them to live through."
He turned and left the room letting the door close behind him. I jumped to my feet and ran to the door but when it opened no one was outside it. I made my decision and ran down the hall, following the signs to the hanger deck and raced across it to the only shuttle there.
