I looked up the ramp into the cargo bay I counted the women standing in the cargo bay exploring it there was only twelve there I turned and looked around the hanger trying to figure out what happened to the other three, I spotted them at the ramp to the other ship the woman leading them was the one that had suggested everyone follow her as they ran up their ships ramp she looked over at me and raised her left hand giving me the finger.
"fuck you bitch I'll never follow you" she screamed across the hanger and then disappeared inside the cargo bay of her ship the ramp already starting to raise.
I quickly hurryed up the ramp of my new ship.
"Alright we better get out of here we only have seventeen minutes left" I said to the group.
I found the hatch door on the far wall of the cargo bay right in the middle I opened it and passed through into a hallway that had twenty hatches they where lined up five on each side angled from the floor to the wall in a fortyfive degree angle all place to not block the flow of traffic the other ten was place from roof to wall in a fortyfive degree angle with a ladder leading to them from the floor.
"I guess this is the crew quarters" I mumbled as I spotted the hatch on the far side of the hallway and hurryed over to it.
I was opening this hatch when the brunette with a pixie cut walked up to me.
“Clan elder I have decided I will be called Danielle, i would like to apply for the position of bridge crew aboard your new ship to please” she said to me.
I pushed the hatch door open and as we stepped into the next room I saw the ten tables with benches on either side of them, on the left side of the room and a counter on the right past the counter I could see only what I could describe as a kitchen from heaven all of it looked brand new and expensive something I would expect to see in the most fanciest restaurant back on earth. I then looked at the girl next to me and for some reason, I decided to use my appraise skill on her and was rewarded with a blue box above her head that read.
Name: Danielle
Clan: Unknown
Gender: Female
Age: 18
I smiled softly as I read it then as I mentally dismissed it a new one appeared in front of my face
*Appraisal Level 2*
I laughed softly I walked through the restaurant as I reached the hatch on the other side, I pulled it open to see a spiral staircase leading up. Following it I came out into the middle of a hallway towards the rear of the ship was a hatch labelled Engineering. I turned my head to the front of the ship to see a hatch that was labelled Officers Quarters + Bridge. I headed for this hatch. I opened it as I reached it looking at another hallway that looked like the crew quarters except for this one only had hatches along the floor three on the left and four on the right and these hatches where labelled. The two closest was labelled gunner the next two was labelled pilot on the left and navigator on the right the final two was labelled communications on the left and Trade on the right the last one on the right was labeled captain. I slowly walked past them as I glanced at Danielle.
“what skill do you have?” I asked curiously.
She paused for a few seconds her eyes turning a slight shade of blue before returning to normal I noticed that she had hazel eyes.
“It says under skills I have navigation 1” she said to me.
I smiled happily as I nodded to the hatch labelled navigation.
“I do need a navigator, you are hired!” we both laughed as I walked over to the hatch that read captain.
As I stood in front of it the hatch disintegrated revealing a staircase down into a room. I decided I didn't have time to explore it so I turned away but before I managed to move on I noticed out of the corner of my eye what looked like nanobots rebuilding the hatch.
“Amazing” I mumbled.
I opened the hatch to the bridge, stepping onto the bridge. I saw a room with an open window to the hanger and three floors. On the first, was the captain's chair dominating the middle of the room on either side of it was five steps down to the second floor. The steps came down behind two glass bubbles over the floor, both were open. Inside was a seat in each of them with ten monitors in each bubble. I turned to spot a seat at a desk on the left facing the wall the back of the seat had Trade on it.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
My head then turned to the right to see a chair at a desk on the other side with Communications on the back of that chair.
In the middle of this floor between the two pods was another five step staircase down to the third floor. Where two pods was located on each side of the steps but the pod on the left did not have a bubble over it or any monitors it was instead exposed to the glass and had controls for flight the pod on the right did have a bubble over it and did have all the ten monitors with the word Navigation curved around the bubble. I pointed at it and turned to Danielle.
“I think that one is yours” I said to her.
She nodded to me and descended to it as she approached the half bubble of glass. It slid open at the back enough for her to climb down into the seat before closing. I turned to look behind me to see if the others had followed us to the bridge, they had.
“Anyone have the pilot skill?” I asked them.
As I looked from face to face. It was the blond with hair down to her shoulders with blue eyes in the back of the group that raised her hand.
“I have the pilot skill” she said.
I nodded and used the appraisal skill on her the blue box appeared just above her.

Space Pilot: 1
I smiled softly and then indicated the open chair for her to climb into.
“Get us out of here now.” I told her.
I then turned my attention back to the group.
“Any gunners, communication or Trade skills amongst you?” I asked them.
My eyes moving from one to the next. Their eyes all went a shade of blue for a few seconds as they checked then three hands shot up the girl in front of me a ginger-haired girl with long flowing hair down her back and brown eyes. Her hand dropped from being raised back to her side.
“I am Wendy, I have Communications skill level 1” she said.
I nodded and raised my hand indicating the correct seat for her to take as I then turned to the next girl with her raised hand she was brunette with hair down to her waist and brown eyes. She smiled to me as she lowered her hand.
“I am Rachael, I have the space gunner skill."
It occurred to me that there might be different types of gunners so I decided to appraise her.
Name: Rachael
Clan: Unknown
Vampiric Rank: newborn
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Skills:
Vampiric Bite: 1
Space Gunner: 1
I smiled as I read it with an increase in the skill level of appraisal. It looked like I could now see more information.
“I also have space gunner, I’m candy by the way” the girl standing behind Rachael said.
As she moved to stand next to Rachael. I glanced at her, noting her brunette curly hair and green eyes. I smiled at her then focussed on space gunner skill and tried to appraise it the blue box changed to a description of the skill.
*Space gunner is a skill that allows the user to operate space ship guns. At level one the user may operate basic small ship guns from the gunner station*
I nodded my head then pointed to the gunner pods.
“pick one” I told her as my eyes moved to the last girl with her hand raised.
Her hair was short, bright red and looked like a mess with brown eyes, her hand lowered.
“I am Jessica, I’m not sure what it means but I have the Trade skill.”
I was curious to see if I continued appraising people would my skill level increase again so I appraised her as well.
Name: Jessica
Clan: Unknown
Vampiric Rank: newborn
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Skills:
Vampiric Bite: 1
Trade: 1
I mentally dismissed the window as my eyes focussed on her again. I nodded my head.
"Take your station" I said to her as my attention moved to the others.
"If you have an engineering or chef or any other skill that can be used aboard this ship, then please find your station if you don't then feel free to wander around the lower deck of the ship until we are safe and can relax" I said.
They turned and walked out of the bridge hatch after it closed I quickly took the captains seat, a screen slid out of the end of the armrest and came up just in front of where my hand comfortably rested on it. I pushed the login button it took a few seconds to register my fingerprint then it unlocked displaying a systems menu for the ship I looked up out of the glass windows to see the other ship leaving the hanger. My ship was rising off the hanger floor and starting to follow that ship out of the hanger.
