CHAPTER: 6 "A world where you could live"
Frozen in place unable to move, I was there merely to exists. The already dilapidated amusement park was now in even worse state than before.
Pachu unlike her small build was 'strong', I guess. I don't know what was happening but the lost spirit seems to take damage every time they made some gesture or muttered something.
And here I was completely dazed unable to do anything except watching them from sidelines.
The lost spirit with the face of my grandma on its stomach had a pained expression, it's movement became slower and the strength it exuded decreased. But, it was still holding on and with every movement it muttered something softly. "Grey......why...dii-e.." it was a sad vice, a voice from a past long gone, a voice that I haven't heard for a long time.

Before entering the Amusement park Blue called me, explaining in a soft tone unlike her usual cheerfulness. "Grey, well I wanted to say..." She paused for some second contemplating what to say next before continuing. "Lost spirits aren't your run-of-the-mill ghosts. They're like the shadows of the soul they used to be, twisted and torn. Imagine this: souls stained by evil deeds maybe weighed down by regrets that cling to them like shackles or corrupted by forces beyond our imagination, and drowning in emotions so deep, they lose themselves. Each one's a tragic story of how things went wrong, they are then nothing more than a hollow shell forever repeating their last regret. And tonight, you're staring down one of the worst. It's not a fairy tale in which there is always a happily ever after, it maybe sad to know but, we're diving into the dark side of the spirit world." This time the pause was longer. "You see any spirit can become a lost one, one mistake and you are done for. You never know, maybe my companions are next in the line maybe you are next, so, Grey Wolff please be careful not to be the next."
*********
In the middle of the fight I was dazed and confused. All the info I had, all the conviction I mustered, it amounted to nothing. I couldn't possibly fight that thing in front of me, how can I exorcise her.
As emotions started to burst inside me, black smoke rose from my body slowly enveloping me, my life story started to dissipate character by character. As more and more story dissipated it got suffocating, but I wasn't feeling pain anymore, all my memories slowly started to fade....
That's when I heard a soft voice behind me. "Grey, I told you not to be next. What a bad girl you are."
A pair of hands covering my ears stopping the transformation. The smoke enveloping me started to scatter, I felt sick in the stomach as the dissipated Stories started to gather, though a bit jumbled up. As my thinking capability returned, a question bugging me escaped my mouth.
"Blue, what's that thing? Is it my grandma?" I asked turning my attention, trying to regain my calm. Looking around I realized that it was already midnight.
"It uses to be." That's the only reply I got, after which she continued this time with more energy. "Now get up Grey the spirit won't exorcise itself would it."
She helped me stand up. After calming myself, I took a clear view of what it was. A giant body with patterns all over its body the head situated in its tummy, skinny looking build and dark smoke constantly rising from its body consisting of regret and hatred making it look more intimidating, it was a whole nightmare material, and we had to exorcise it.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Holding gun in my hand I followed Blue's lead, waiting for her signal. The ground was unstable by now, but I was not an ameture since I practiced with my toy gun all the time. Pachu and Axel still muttering and gesturing something were constantly moving from their stops. The rusted iron ride were completely destroyed and the ground sunken, it was like a scene in a fantasy manga, but the difference was that I had to face this thing.
I was unsure if I could hit the bullseye but still remained in position constantly moving from stall to stall until I got the signal.....
BANG!!!!
The moment I got the signal I pulled the trigger releasing a satisfying click sound, but the shot that escaped the muzzle was what you would call a Kamehameha wave. Bright and large, the light almost blinded me.
The moment the shot hit the spirit everything in the radius was enveloped in the blast including us. I was sure I would die, but pain never came. It was more like I was cleansed completely, as if I have been standing my whole life and just now sat for the first time.
As the bright light faded I saw an old lady looking at an afterimage of a little girls running in the amusement park, the girl wore a hairband with the symbol of wolf. The old lady eye's were moist and her smile genuine, I slowly started approaching her.
"H-hey, Grandma. Haven't seen you for a while." I said almost choking on my words.
Grandma looked towards me and laughed. "Grey you grew up well, just... You didn't have to die early. I wanted to see my great grandchildren."
Though she laughed it off, I knew my death was the reason she became a lost spirit. Her body already started to crumble bit by bit turning into white ash.
Coming closer to her, trying to get her in my embrace. "Grandma, you will surely reincarnate, right? Y-yeah you were a good person of course you will reincarnate." I spoke to her, knowing very well what Golden Gate for a lost spirit meant.
"Grey, why are you crying, sit here, I want to spend my last moment talking with you." This was her reply, it was a warm reply, but the meaning behind it were cold.
Like Blue said 'Oblivion is the only Golden Gate for lost spirits'.
"Grey, are you doing well? You must have worked hard right?" Her voice was still mellow and soft as I remembered it to be. I sat beside her like I used to when I was younger.
"G-grandma.. I worked hard, I tried everything I could, just to live a happy life. I-i just couldn't live life to its end. I am sorry grandma." My voice cracked, tears welling up in my eyes. As tear trickled down my cheeks a pair of aged hands wiped my tears.
"Why are you apologizing for? You did great and since you still think, thus you still live, right?" She paused with a heavy gasp and continued. "It's sad I won't be able to watch over you. But Grey, since you still live, live this life to the en......" As her whole body turned to dust before she could finish her words, I couldn't even say a proper goodbye to her. I felt pathetic, sitting on the ground trying to grab a hold of whatever particles I could grab on to. But there was nothing left of her in this world.
"Hey Blue, you said there are multiple world right, is there a world where my grandma didn't become a lost soul." I asked in a low tone, the world for me now completely stopped in time.
Blue's reply was. "In this vast multiverse, of course there will be at least one world, or else how would we maintain our number of souls." That was the answer I was expecting. Slightly smiling I rose from the place. I know this place is no fairy tale, but it's still a magical place, a place where anything can happen.
