"What in the world am I looking at?—!" I screamed loudly while looking at the screen in front of me. "Is this some kind of magic? Why did this screen appear?!—" I gathered up all my remaining thoughts to assess the situation I am in, reading all the content the magic screen showed to me, I began questioning myself even more as to why am I a botanist.
Remembering my knowledge in my world, a botanist is a scientist who studies and analyzes plants, my last 2 brain cells are wondering how did I end up with this class, I barely came out my room when I studied for 4 years, I even forgot what most plants looks like.
Now I am back to wondering how did I end up in this place, the toilets are made like it was created before electricity was invented, the mirrors are all held up by some rope, and there aren't even working sinks in this bathroom, all there is are some usable paper that seems like it was made by tearing cloth.
Suddenly there was a door opening at the end of the room, something came out of the cubicle, I grabbed the nearest stick that was on the floor and went to the corner of the room, the huge figure coming out of the cubicle was a towering orc, wearing a full set of silver plated armor that was covered in mud.
With the big steps he took, I was quivering in fear, with my mind telling me to run, my legs were shaking really fast and my arms were wiggly with all the fear I am feeling. Each step he took had an aura of emitting that I WAS DEAD IN SECONDS, when he was finally in front of me, he smelled me and yawned at my face, his bad breath made me want to pass out but I held on as long as I could.
"Are you going to use that my sir?—" said the towering orc, pointing at the paper roll stuck to my pants, I gestured the orc a nod of disapproval, "Don't you mind if I use it?—" said the orc as he tries to grab it with his hand, I nodded again to show that I don't mind, in reality I am near to passing out because of the fear I am experiencing.
"Aren't you from around here?—", he said while he went away from me and stood next to the mirror. "uhm, I don't know where I am to be honest, I was in a plane and suddenly I was teleported here—" I said while trying to stand up straight again after experiencing the horrors of his mouth."Plane? Is that some sort of transportation device I am not aware of?" the orc said while he glances at me with a questioning face. "Don't mind the details but can you tell me where are we exactly?" I said with great determination to finally answer the question I am still wondering about.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"Why we are here at Windfall, at the western port of The Great Warfainds, one of the 4 continents in the world of Egaria—" the orc said as he smiles genuinely, losing his ominous aura and looked more welcoming.
With the new information I gained, I began to look hopeless even more, knowing that this was not earth, this is not the vacation trip I planned for, this is not what I wanted, All I wanted was to enjoy the trip and reconcile with my parents, does my resentment still mean something in this new world?
As I snapped back to reality, the orc was gone, leaving the heavy wooden door swinging wide open, its hinges creaking from his brute force. Beyond the door, the warmth of a tavern spilled out, and the noise hit me all at once—a chaotic symphony of laughter, clinking mugs, and the low hum of conversation.
Inside, the dimly lit room was alive with energy. Creatures straight out of myth sat shoulder to shoulder at long wooden tables. Elves with delicate features and sharp eyes whispered secrets, dwarves bellowed with laughter, slamming their tankards on the tables, and at the far end, a pair of centaurs playing a lively tune from their instrument, the music mingling with the joyous laughter.
The smell of roasting meat, beer, and something vaguely herbal filled the air made my stomach growl, and the thick scent of smoke lingered from the hearth in the corner, where a roaring fire blazed, casting flickering shadows on the stone walls.
I stepped inside, my shoes sinking into the uneven floorboards and taking a glance at everything I could perceive logically until I hear the large wooden door behind me slammed and made a powerful sound that caught everyone's attention,
Everyone's head turned
I looked behind to check if it was something else and as soon as I looked back in front, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me like I did the slam.
My palms were sweating. What should I do? My mind raced. Should I apologize? Slip away? Act like nothing happened?
