*"Basic alchemy huh, if the book gave me only the basics, maybe the other volumes will give me something better"*
I started walking down the stone paths as my mind went into auto pilot. My thoughts were jumbling and confused, even recalling what Thorne said back there, I didn't have a single grasp of what could my class potentially do.
*"There must be a reason why there are less of us in this world...."*
*"Open"* The window showed up and began to display my information.
Before descending down the stone stairs, I was too busy looking at the window to actually notice anybody passing by.
*"I am still level 1— ah!"*
My body suddenly pushed back, somebody bumped into me, the person did not flinch but my body was in shock.
"Hey! Hey you!" I shouted while pointing at the person wearing a black cloak covering his entire body.
The person only stared at me, his cloak engraved with different symbols, his face was not visible even though we are not that far away.
I tried to stare back at him, my face swelling up with annoyance as I was already fatigued from the events earlier.
The mysterious person only gave me a weird smile, before all of a sudden the system window I was looking at went into static, my ear suddenly began ringing loudly, like I was about to lose my hearing.
*"What is this?!"* I covered my ears, kneeling on the ground as the sharp pain went into my head.
The pain was unbearable, I was losing strength each time the ringing went thru my head, my eyes tearing up while my arms were starting to weaken.
Until in a split second, it went blank, I could hear again but it was different from before. I couldn't understand a thing what the people around me was saying.
The noises became weirder, like they were talking in a different language. I couldn't comprehend anything anymore in my brain as the noise went louder.
"Weird.... Don't tell me you are like us...." The mysterious person said, the voice echoed in my head, like he was whispering directly into me.
All of a sudden the pain was gone, the ringing went blank and the head ache it caused went away also.
I regained my senses, standing back up, the noises around me were the same again before meeting him.
The hooded person was gone, I was only looking at a street that only had empty stalls nearby.
*"Who is he? What did he do?"* My first thoughts while trying to recuperate from the pain I experienced.
*"Did that actually happen, or... did I just snorted a lot of plants back in Olivia's place?"*
I began to overthink everything, the pain, the weird language I heard, the mysterious person.
The experience made me weaker mentally, the more I tried to interact with this world, the more it began to look more dangerous. I started walking again, going to the Adventurer's Society like nothing happened.
*"Okay let's just not overthink it, just focus on the goal and I'll get there"*
I repeated the same sentence over and over to gaslight myself into being fine, until I saw a huge house, built with stones and bricks. A large sword symbol hanging on the entrance.

I peeked thru the window, the building filled with different creatures wearing armor, armed with powerful weapons, the others were holding a piece of paper, maybe trying to invite others for their commission.
*"And what was I wearing? Of course a tattered brown cloak with only a single dagger, not even a single piece of armor"*
"Welp, here goes nothing!" I said while confidently opening the doors of the building.
I went inside the building, the first thing I felt was the ambiance felt familiar, it was filled with life and screamed anyone was welcome to enter, different races talking to each other while the rest was recruiting members for their party. I glanced at every corner of the room, trying to find where do I inquire about the society.
Until I finally saw what seems like 3 counters and a signage in front, a lady that seems like a normal human wearing a uniform.
*"Is that the front counter? Please let it be the front counter"*
I slowly started walking towards the counter, with my head held high, to make it look like I was confident and a strong person.
There was no line, making it easier to reach the front desk without waiting an extra hour.
"Welcome to The Adventurer's Society! You look like you are not a registered adventurer yet?, Do you want to register now!?" The kind worker said while I was looking at her, my hands on the counter.
*"I didn't think I would get this far, what the heck do I say?"*
"Ugh....Yes please?....." I said, choking the first word because of how nervous I was.
"So there is actually two ways to register to become an adventurer! But first I may ask, what is your name and do you already have a class?"
"ugh.... yes.... it's Jorr.... I mean my name is Jorr and yes, I already have a class"
I was already heavily sweating before the second question came, fumbling the answer to the question, my anxiety clouding up my thoughts, I was already overthinking that this lady thought of me as a weirdo.
"Great! So you only need to do an aptitude test using the spirit orb! The spirit orb tests out your spirit and mind, calculating how strong you are! It may not be accurate as the first test, where we test you in all aspect to help you gain a class and a badge at the same time!"
"Alright... so where do I go...."
"Come with me sir Jorr" the lady said while she called out a random adventurer in the crowd to accompany her.
She lead me thru a series of doors in the back of the building, with different symbols written on it, until we reached the last door at the end of the hallway, with a sign of a circle in the middle, indicating maybe this is the room we are suppose to enter.
The first thing I could see in the room was a glass orb on a metal table, sigils written on the floor, maybe to contain the raw power of the magic inside, she made the man wearing leather armor stand beside her and the orb.
"So this is our spirit orb sir Jorr!, to calculate the strength and power of a person, first, they must place their hand on top of the orb, focusing all their pure strength and spirit on the hand, making the orb glow depending on how potent and strong the output is!"
"This gentleman will demonstrate how to use it! so watch carefully"
"Here I go!"
The random adventurer placed their hand on the orb, he seemed like he was focusing everything on to his hand, all of a sudden the room went blank, no noise, no reaction, I was carefully watching what he was doing until something happened.
The orb glowed, red smoke spiking around the globe, until it disappeared, the orb returning back to its clear color.
The adventurer suddenly fell on the floor, sweating profusely.
"Yes! It became stronger than before!"
The man screamed while he stood back up and celebrating like he just won a national tournament.
"Great! The output was strong! The red smoke represented the power of a warrior class! But that kind of output is only placed at rank E! With the highest being X, and the lowest F." The lady followed up the celebration of the man, the smile on him disappeared, his face made a depressed expression as he slouched his back, until he completely exited the room.
"Now it's your turn sir Jorr!, please do exactly as the man did!"
I nodded, walking slowly towards the orb, my hand was already sweating before the test began.
*"Here goes nothing!*"
I placed my hand on the orb, doing the exact action I did when I tried to break a rune back on the tavern. The same image went in my head as I focused my spirit and strength in my hand.
A faint light made an image of an orb, like it did on the rune before.
The room was silent, my sweat already down on my shirt, until a light appeared on the orb.
The orb glowed a faint green on the center, not even covering a percentage of the orb like the man did. Until the smoke and light disappeared.
"What the...... Why didn't it work?"
The lady suddenly looked at me with amusement.
