Chapter Three: Crystal Cave

If you were to ask Nex what his thought were about an infant, it would be: “Babies are pathetically weak without help. ”

Never in his life would Nex would believe that he would be in the situation he would be right now. Sitting in a dark alley that stank of trash, was a baby with strangely sharp eyes.

Trying to organize his thoughts he recapped them in his head. “So first... I saw a man? And he said I’m a half-breed. Then blank huh.”

Confusion swirled in his eyes, trying to find a viable option for the situation that he was in. “Fate said, this place has magic.... Let me try that out.” He tried to do any type of chuuni chant had ever heard before or yell out magic names. However, he was an infant, and everything that was coming out was just useless mumbing.

A flash of cold frustration flickered in Nex’s eyes before he gave up. He decided to actually observe the area around him. All around him was rotten wooden walls, that obviously have been there for tens of year, and were in desperate need of repair. A shining moving object caught his eye.

It was a knight. The knight was wearing shiny silver armor and was lazily swaggered down the corridor. He caught sight of the bundle of blankets and a savage smile creeped on his face. He walked up to the blankets and vulgarly punted it across the corridor.

Nex, who had a sliver of hope in humanity’s good nature had it suddenly shattered. “You goddamned bastard.” He thought as he few a good distance away.

Nex rolled and rolled, until suddenly he fell into one of the city aqueducts. Luckily he did not land on his face, as he struggled to breath.

After a long time of struggling to stay aloft, the wet, cold and miserable infant finally started to maintain balance on the stream. Nex helplessly watched as he was swept across the city and was soon carried into the woods.

Nex’s infant was screaming for rest, and as his vision began to vanish he swore “I’ll get my revenge.”

*Drip* *Drip* *Drip*

Ned awoke to the sound of dripping water. He seemed to be in some sort of cave. As Nex looked around, he saw numerous ancient stalactite, and their equivalent stalagmites.

The cave was made of some sort of waxy crystal rock. It was light purple in color. The scene was actually quite pleasant to look at, despite the sharp spikes everywhere threatening to impale you./

While Nex was looking around in wonder someone had creeped up on him, without noticing. The person picked him up, with surprising roughness not expected of someone carrying a baby.

Nex surprised the sudden rising velocity, turned his lethargic head towards the person. The person was a young girl with intelligence in her eyes that didn’t suit her childish disposition.

She took a glance at Nex, opened her mouth, and said. “Who the hell are you?”
