Chapter 20 - The Ice Princess

Let’s backtrack a little.

2 hours before the end of school...

Syndesi received a private message from Abigail.

“hey Syndesi! this may sound very weird but...did you send a message in the class group chat earlier?”

“Nope. Why?”

“wait! you didn’t send any message?!”

“Nope. Sorry Abigail but I don’t get where this is going.”

What came next was a screenshot and a forwarded message from Abigail.

“Wait a minute. You are saying that I sent this?”

“yeah, you sent it while you were in the toilet in the morning. at least that’s what it seemed to be.”

“This doesn’t make sense. I didn’t even bring my phone. And I went to the toilet to...”

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Syndesi was typing but she realised she couldn’t tell Abigail the real reason she went to the toilet was to...cry. How embarrassing would that be?

Syndesi quickly deleted the words and sent a different message. It was fortunate that Abigail couldn’t laugh at Syndesi’s blushed expression through the screen.

“This is weird. Someone must have used my phone and sent it.”

“my guess is Ruth. she’s acting weird today. and who else would know that you brought cookies to school?”

“Ruth?”

“by the way, please don’t tell Ruth I told you this! im only sending you this because Ruth went to talk to Ms Sophia.”

“Ruth? Help? Me?”

This time, Syndesi didn’t send any message.

As she was processing the information, Ruth re-entered the classroom.

It was as though a cold wind followed her trails. Her long black hair floated with the wind. A mysterious and luxurious letter in her hand.

The rowdy classroom became awfully silent.

An imposing presence.

Intelligent.

Beautiful.

Unreachable.

That was Ruth. “The Ice Princess”.

Syndesi thought that maybe her daily interactions melted the tip of the iceberg.

She glanced at Ruth.

But Ruth’s sharp gaze was like daggers. One could only take a step back in front of her sacred eyes.

Syndesi clearly made an impact.

But she wasn’t ready to confront the snow yet.
