Chapter 48: Ceremony

"Reincarnation!"

Eli Shan's eyes widened in disbelief. He thought he might have misheard and asked again, "Sorry, I couldn't hear you clearly. Could you please repeat that again?"

The mysterious man nodded solemnly before repeating himself, "You are to reincarnate into one of the worlds within your universe. Through this process, you will gain a deeper understanding of your universe and integrate into it more efficiently."

Eli Shan nodded slowly, processing the information. It was indeed an efficient method to comprehend his universe better.

However...

"Wait, doesn't that mean I have to die to be reincarnated?"

The mysterious man reassured him, "Do not worry. Within this universe, you are a god. With my assistance, you can undergo reincarnation without any adverse effects. And when you depart this universe, your main body will remain unchanged."

Eli Shan gasped in amazement, "Is such a thing truly possible?"

The mysterious man simply nodded, his expression unreadable.

Eli Shan pondered the suggestion for a moment before responding, "I will consider about it."

With that, he vanished from the blank domain and returned back to the dragon.

Upon Eli Shan's return, the dragon, sensing his presence, inquired, "So, did you get your answer?"

Eli Shan nodded and then proceeded to recount everything he had discussed with the former master. However, to his surprise, the great dragon showed no astonishment. It seemed as though he had already anticipated this turn of events.

"So, what did you decide?" the dragon inquired.

"I will think about it later," Eli Shan replied calmly.

The dragon nodded in understanding and settled back down to rest.

Taking the opportunity, Eli Shan found a nearby rock and focused on his cultivation, immersing himself completely in the practice.

As he delved deeper, time slipped by unnoticed, and before he knew it, a day had passed in the blink of an eye.

Sensing the passage of time, Eli Shan rose from his spot and made his way back to his room. Inside, he found Xie Meng deeply engrossed in her cultivation. With a gentle scan of her realm, Eli Shan discovered that she had already reached the Xuan realm.

"She is truly a genius," Eli Shan whispered in awe, his astonishment evident in his voice.

Approaching her quietly, he gently interrupted, "Forgive the intrusion, but it's time for us to depart."

This was the day of the wedding, and the ceremony had already started. If he wanted to save the girl, he had to leave immediately.

Xie Meng opened her enchanting eyes, meeting Eli Shan's gaze and nodding in agreement. "Yes, let's go," she said, rising gracefully and smiling at Eli Shan.

Returning the nod, Eli Shan took her hand, leading her out of the room. However, upon reaching the guest hall, they found it eerily empty, devoid of any guests who had likely already gathered for the wedding ceremony.

"It seems everyone has already left for the wedding," Eli Shan muttered to himself.

With that, he closed his eyes, expanding his consciousness to navigate his way toward the grand hall. Once he located it, he proceeded towards the wedding venue. However, in the midway empty hall, he noticed two guards, their expressions stern, restraining a teenage boy, forcefully escorting him towards the prison.

Observing the boy closely, Eli Shan's gaze softened with recognition. It was the same young man from the village who had fervently pleaded for the girl's rescue. It became apparent to Eli Shan that the boy had likely come here with the intention of saving the girl. However, his lack of strength resulted in him being captured by the guards before he could take any action.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"Commitment without power is futile," he sighed.

The teenager continued to shout, utilizing his cultivation in a futile attempt to break free. "Let go of me! I'll kill all of you! I won't let you get away with this!"

The guards chuckled mockingly, unfazed by his threats. "You think you can kill us with your measly cultivation at the Qi Gathering Realm? You'll spend the rest of your days rotting in prison, and if you utter another word, we'll execute you on the spot!"

Undeterred, the boy persisted in his struggle against the guards.

Looking at him, Eli Shan shook his head in resignation, stepping closer to the guards and addressing the defiant teenager. "What you're doing is suicidal."

The teenager, recognizing Eli Shan, clenched his fists with a glimmer of hope. "Please, save her. I'll do anything you ask."

Eli Shan nodded solemnly. "Don't worry. I've already made a promise to your village elder to save her."

As Eli Shan spoke, the guards exchanged a bewildered glance. They regarded Eli Shan with cautious gazes, unable to detect even a speck of cultivation from him. It meant that either he was just an ordinary person, an unlikely possibility within the confines of the city lord's mansion, or... he was simply that much stronger than them! However, before they could react or call for assistance, Eli Shan disappeared from their view, reappearing behind them.

With swift precision, he delivered a decisive blow to the guards' necks, rendering them unconscious.

Witnessing the scene in disbelief, the teenager's eyes widened in shock. These guards were at least in the Xuan Realm, yet this man knocked them off as effortlessly as if they were mere children!

Filled with admiration and awe, the teenager knelt before Eli Shan, "I apologize for my actions in the village." He scratched his head with a silly smile, "Though you ignored me, Haha." Then, suddenly, he bowed down, slamming his head on the ground. "But, please, save Luo Xiao from him. I will do whatever you want for the rest of my life."

Eli Shan exchanged a glance with Xie Meng, his lips curling up into a smile. Then, he turned his gaze towards the boy, extending a hand to help him to his feet, a warmth emanating from his expression. "I am Eli Shan," he introduced himself, his voice gentle. "And you?"

The teenager stood up, his face dirtied but beaming with hope. "I am Chao Xen."

Eli Shan nodded reassuringly, "Don't worry about the girl. I never break my promises."

Chao Xen bowed again in gratitude, "Thank you so much, master."

"Just call me Eli Shan, no need to be so formal," Eli Shan replied with a warm smile.

Chao Xen nodded, a smile brightening his face. "Then I will be counting on you, brother Eli Shan."

Eli Shan patted his shoulder reassuringly. "Yes, let's go now."

Xie Meng, who had been observing silently, nodded in agreement as she joined them.

Chao Xen glanced at Xie Meng and abruptly shifted his gaze in another direction.

As the trio made their way toward the grand hall where the wedding ceremony was taking place, they encountered a formidable sight. Hundreds of strong guards were stationed around the venue, their vigilant presence guarding every corner of the mansion.

Approaching the guards with confidence, Eli Shan presented his golden badge. "I am a graduate of the Holy School."

The guards inspected the badge and, recognizing its significance, allowed them to pass. Normal students couldn't gain entry with just any badge, but this golden emblem signified something extraordinary – he was the king of his school! Even the city lords wanted to recruit such talents!

With their way cleared, together, they made their way to the front seats. As they advanced, all eyes fell upon Xie Meng, and spectators couldn't help but be entranced by her beauty.

They had encountered many beautiful girls before, but to think there was a girl as beautiful as her? They had never even imagined it!

As their eyes remained fixed on her, an inexplicable pressure descended upon them, as though the weight of a mountain had settled upon their shoulders! Struggling against this overwhelming sensation, many succumbed to its oppressive force, their bodies unable to bear the burden as they began to cough up blood.

"You guys better not look at other's women," Eli Shan's stern voice echoed through the hall.

The shocking command left everyone stunned.

This young man had caused grown men to vomit blood with just a glance!

From the front seat, the Headmaster sensed a familiar presence and stood up. "Ah, Eli Shan, you're here too?"

Eli Shan turned his attention to the Headmaster, bowing respectfully. "My apologies for arriving uninvited, Headmaster.

The Headmaster's smile widened as he gestured for Eli Shan to join him. "Come, come, sit with me."

The onlookers were left dumbfounded hearing his name. Was this the rumored Eli Shan? The renowned champion of the inter-city schools? The strongest young men in the whole city?

Unaware of his own fame, Eli Shan followed the Headmaster's invitation, accompanied by Xie Meng and Chao Xen.

The Headmaster's gaze briefly flickered to Chao Xen's worn attire before returning to Eli Shan with a curious expression. "You are here means you are up to something. Boy don't do something stupid here which could cost us our life."

Eli Shan chuckled lightly. "Why are you saying this, Headmaster? Do you think I am stupid?"

The Headmaster merely rolled his eyes in response. "You and your friends may sit here. I'll find another seat," he said, gesturing toward the available chairs.

Eli Shan nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Headmaster."
