Chapter 15: Can't Cultivate?

At the door where the child's cries echoed, stood the entrance to a humble clan, known as the Shan Clan.

Led by their current master, Huang Shan, the clan was respected for its strength and noble values.

Huang Shan, a middle-aged man, recently got married and was happily beginning a new chapter in his life.

At this moment, Huang Shan was seated in the grand hall, engaged in a discussion with some of the clan elders, when the guard hastily entered the room, his expression filled with urgency.

"Master," the guard said, bowing respectfully, "I have something important to report."

Huang Shan motioned for him to continue, his curiosity piqued. "Go ahead, what is it?"

With a sense of responsibility, the guard extended his hand, revealing a small child nestled in his arms. "Master, someone left this child at our clan's entrance. We found him abandoned and alone."

Huang Shan looked at the child and when he saw the tear-streaked face of the baby who had been abandoned by his parents, he couldn't help but feel overwhelming pity for him.

Even though he felt pity, he touched his hand on the child's forehead and began to check the child because he was not sure if this child was a trap who was sent to their entrance by some enemies with some kind of mark on him by which this child could explode or something...

After checking the child with his consciousness and finding nothing strange, Huang Shan thought, "It doesn't look like a trap. If someone was strong enough for me to not even detect his mark on this child, then he wouldn't even need to make a trap for me."

After considering for a while he decided to take the child and let someone adopt him. He was a soft-hearted person, he didn't want a child who was abandoned by his parents to die without food.

Huang Shan gently took the child in his arms from the guard's grasp and stood up, ending the discussion with a decisive action. He nodded to the elders, silently signaling his intention, then without saying a word, he left the grand hall.

Soon, he brought the child inside his room to talk with the closest person to him.

As he entered the room, he was met by a stunningly beautiful girl in a red dress who was immersed in her cultivation. Her face looked like that of a goddess, and her bright blue eyes sparkled with charm. Her long, flowing brown hair added to her elegant appearance. Huang Shan couldn't help but feel mesmerized by her celestial beauty no matter how many times he look at her.

Her initial expression seemed cold and distant, but the moment she sensed someone and opened her eyes, and looked at Huang Shan's face, her face blossomed into a warm and radiant smile as she nodded at him affectionately.

Returning her smile, Huang Shan approached Yui Shan, standing by her side as he gently said, "Little Yui, look at this child."

Just as he was about to explain, Yui's eyes narrowed as she glared at him "Because we haven't had a child yet, did you go and make one with another woman?"

Hearing her accusation, Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, and he hastily began to explain, "No, no, it's not like that at all!

Yui couldn't resist giggling at his reaction. "I was just teasing, silly," she said, playfully nudging him. "I trust you completely, I know you would never do such a thing."

Huang Shan replied by putting his hand on his heart "Please don't scare me like this, you know my heart is so weak right? What will happen if I will die?"

Yui's eyes filled with amusement as she retorted "You are someone who killed his way out of thousands of soldiers, and now you are saying you could die? Impossible."

Huang Shan shook his head with a smile and said nothing.

Yui Shan then took the baby from his hand with a smile, and as she looked at the baby, her heart melted as she gazed at the child's small innocent face, captivated by his beautiful big eyes. Her heart warmed even more as his tiny hand enveloped her finger, and his tear-streaked face transformed into a sweet smile as he looked up at her.

As Yui Shan continued to gaze at the child, her heart swelled with love and affection. It was as if the little one possessed a special charm that drew her in, making her want to shower him with all the love in the world.

As Yui Shan looked more at the child's adorable features, she couldn't help but be captivated by his cute cheeks, perfect face, and pure white skin. It was as if he embodied everything she had ever imagined in an ideal child.

Huang Shan could see the deep affection in Yui Shan's eyes as she held the child close. Looking at them he couldn't help but smile.

Suddenly, Yui looked at him with burning eyes and asked about the child's background. Huang Shan sighed and replied, "This child's parents abandoned him and left him at our clan's entrance. It seems he has been through a lot already."

Yui's heart filled with sadness upon hearing this, and she couldn't help but feel immense pity for the innocent child who had been abandoned by his own parents.

Suddenly an idea struck her mind as she coquettishly said to Huang Shan "Husband, can we adopt this child? He deserves a loving family, and I believe we can give him all the care and affection he needs."

Hearing Yui's heartfelt plea, Huang Shan was taken aback and shocked.

He felt pity for this child and wanted to train him but the idea of adopting him as his own son hadn't crossed his mind until now.

Seeing the hesitation on Huang Shan's face, Yui decided to playfully press her advantage. With a mischievous smile, she teasingly threatened, "If you don't agree to adopt this child, I will pack my bags and leave this house, hmph!"

Her playful threat caught Huang Shan off guard, and he couldn't help but chuckle at Yui's antics. "Sure, sure, we will adopt him, but what about our future child?" he asked, looking at Yui with a hint of concern.

Yui Shan thought for a while before replying, "We don't need any more children until this child grows up. He will be our priority for now."

Huang Shan sighed and could not say anything to her.

He looked at the child again with love and said "This child is so adorable and his eyes are confident, I wonder why will someone leave behind a child like this."

Yui shan guessed "Maybe there was a conflict with someone strong, and his parents left him at our doorstep to keep him safe before running away? Whatever the case may be, if his parents don't return by the time he reaches the age of five, we won't give him back."

Huang Shan couldn't help but chuckle, amused by Yui's firm resolve.

As he looked at the child, he suddenly thought of something "What do you think about his name?"

A gentle smile graced Yui Shan's lips as she replied, "You should give him a name, husband."

Deep in thought, Huang Shan kept looking at the child's appearance. "From the look in his eyes, the strength in his small body, and his ethereal beauty, it's as if he is a reincarnation of a god. Let's call him Eli, he will be known as Eli Shan."

5 years later...

Eli Shan had grown bigger and more handsome. He had small dark silver hair and a mixture of innocent, adorable, and handsome face. It was hard to believe just how could someone be this adorable. Even though he was just a 5 years old, girls around him could not help but want to go near him and the older girl kept waiting for him to grow.

During those five years, Eli Shan grew stronger with each passing day, impressing his father, Huang Shan, with his progress. As the leader of the Shan Clan, Huang Shan knew that he would have to pass on his position to a successor in the near future. He had high hopes for his son, Eli Shan, and wished for him to be the next leader of the clan.

However, not everyone in the clan was happy about this prospect. The other elders and the great elder harbored jealousy toward Eli Shan due to his remarkable growth.

They also had children older than Eli Shan, and the elders wished for their offspring to become the new successor of the Shan Clan. However, with Eli Shan in the competition, how could they stand a chance? His potential was so exceptional that none of the elders believed their children had any hope of surpassing him.

In the Shan clan, there was a rule that prohibited any children from cultivating their realm until they turned 7 years old. During this time, they were only allowed to focus on cultivating their bodies and laying a strong foundation.

Body cultivation displayed the potential of a child, and Eli Shan's progress in this aspect was nothing short of remarkable. His body had already surpassed even the Huang Shan's body when he was a teenager, and he showed no signs of slowing down. With each passing day, Eli's physical strength and abilities constantly continued to grow.

Everyone in the clan was jealous of him, they were fully aware that their own children wouldn't stand a chance against Eli Shan, but they couldn't say a thing.

Eli Shan's potential for learning any martial art and his fighting instincts were unparalleled. It didn't matter which technique Sect Master Huang Shan taught him; he grasped them almost instantly.

His fighting instincts were so refined that he could effortlessly dodge attacks from children much older than him who had already cultivated their realm, and counter them with the best possible moves, leaving no chance for them to retaliate.

Looking at his son's potential, Huang Shan felt immense happiness and pride. He was glad that Eli Shan was his own flesh and blood... Well... maybe he was not... but Huang Shan had no second thoughts about Eli Shan from the time of adoption.

Recognizing his potential, Huang Shan began to train Eli Shan more harder and taught him every technique he knew.

Like this another two years passed by...

At the age of seven, it was time for a child in the Shan clan to start their cultivation journey. On this significant day, the clan Master of the Shan clan, Huang Shan, led Eli Shan to the library where the sacred cultivation techniques were kept.

Looking at his potential till now, Huang Shan found the best technique of the clan and said with a pride "This technique could only be cultivated by the clan master, that mean me, this will be the first time in history that someone else except the clan master will inherit this technique".

Hearing his father, Eli Shan nodded and accepted the cultivation book with a smile and excitement on his face.

He was excited to start his cultivation journey and opened the cultivation book given by his father. Suddenly, a flood of cultivation memories surged into his mind, guiding him into the path of cultivation.

As Eli Shan immersed himself in cultivation, Huang Shan couldn't resist bragging about his own achievements, "Son, give it your best to learn this technique. I managed to grasp the basics in under 6 months and breathe qi, and later completely mastered it in just 5 years – that was the fastest in the history of our clan!"

However, Eli Shan was too focused on his cultivation, so his father's words barely reached his ears as he sat down, absorbing the energy around him.

Huang Shan was about to boast even more, but as he looked at his son, who had already started breathing qi effortlessly, he couldn't help but feel astonished.

After a while, Eli Shan opened his eyes with a bright and excited smile, "Dad, this technique is amazing! Now I can start cultivating and learning to fly in the sky. I want to become the strongest person ever!"

Huang Shan was left speechless, witnessing his son's remarkable ability to grasp the technique instantly. He knew Eli Shan was talented, but to think he could learn such advanced skills in an instant was beyond belief. With a nod, Huang Shan acknowledged his son's words, feeling both proud and amazed at Eli Shan's potential.

Eli Shan looked at his father's shocked expression and suddenly thought of something as his chest swelled up with pride.

He looked at his father with a proud expression and asked, "Dad, were you saying something earlier? I apologize for not paying attention; I was completely immersed in the cultivation technique."

Huang Shan hurriedly waved it off and replied, "Oh, it was nothing important. I was just mentioning that you might grasp it quickly considering your potential, and it seems your potential is quite impressive."

Eli Shan beamed with pride at his father's words.

Huang Shan smiled back and brought Eli Shan into his room. "Since this is your first time cultivating, I'll keep a close eye on you. You can start your cultivation now."

Eli Shan nodded and began to use the cultivation technique.

Suddenly, a wave of qi began to surge around him and was absorbed by him.

Huang Shan was once again taken aback. "Has this kid already mastered the technique to perfection?" he wondered.

Considering the speed at which Eli Shan was absorbing the qi, he should be able to achieve a breakthrough in under 1 hour. This left Huang Shan shocked, it was the fastest speed he had ever witnessed.

However, after some time, upon closer observation, Huang Shan realized that although Eli Shan was absorbing the qi, he couldn't make any progress at all. At first, he couldn't believe it, but soon it became apparent. His son couldn't cultivate his realm!

Huang Shan couldn't understand why his son's cultivation was at a standstill despite the immense amount of qi being absorbed.

No matter how much he cultivated, his cultivation didn't improve even a little bit. It was as if there was cultivation leakage in his body from which all qi was leaking out.

He kept cultivating but even after a long time of cultivation, there was not a single change in his cultivation realm.

Eli Shan also felt something was wrong and innocently looked towards his father with confusion in his eyes.

Even though he had never cultivated before but he knew that absorbing qi and containing it in his dantian was the process of cultivation, once he broke his current dantian limits with the help of qi, he could achieve a breakthrough to a new realm and contain many times more qi inside him.

But even after cultivating for hours, he felt as if the qi he absorbed was not being contained in his dantian; instead, it flowed through his entire body, preventing him from advancing to a higher realm.

Looking at Eli Shan, Huang Shan thought for a moment before sighing and saying, "Little Eli, maybe you have the null body."

Eli Shan looked at him in confusion, not understanding what the null body meant.

Huang Shan noticed his confusion and began to explain, "In the world of cultivation, there are various types of constitutions, such as the King's Body and the God's Body, each with different ranks. The King's Body is rare and can be found at least once every million years, but the God's Body is even more extraordinary and is said to appear only twice since the creation of this universe. And then, there is the null body."

Just the mention of the null body made Eli Shan nervous, as he knew it couldn't be a good sign.

"The null body is a type of body that can absorb qi, but it won't contribute to your cultivation progress. Your physical strength may continue to grow, but your cultivation realm will not advance a bit."

Listening to his father's explanation, Eli Shan's heart sank like a stone in the ocean.
