In this world called Moris, mana is perceived as an mysterious thing in your soul that gives you powers to bend the force of nature at will. It gives us abilities that would make our lives easier or dangerous depending on your views. 

I wanted to find out more of this magic, since it seems entertaining finding out what makes magic ticks at times. For me, it's been a blast whenever I go on adventures with my childhood friends and find out through that way, but now it's just all paper work here and there. So, I have a plan to get out of this mess that I got myself stuck into but I have to wait a little bit till the afternoon before I start the plan.

My thoughts were going through the process of revising and editing before I opened my eyes and went to the wall holding my box. Getting everything that is needed I notify my butler that I was finished putting on all my clothes from the legs up to my shoulders and what other tools that are necessary.

"You can come inside now Erwin!"-Cordelia 

I shouted out loud so he can hear me from the outside of my room. I hear a pull sound from the other side of the cracked white door and it opens for me to see a Erwin wearing blindfolds as he bows with his head postured in facing down.

"Hmm Erwin what are you doing?"-Cordelia 

He gone to look straight at me through his blindfolded eyes and stared as his seriousness seem to take over him.

"Mistress! I must apologize for seeing your body and so as punishment I will wear these blindfolds for the rest of my life!"-Erwin

My jaw dropped as I realized that my childhood friend will have to be a bat from now on. Using only his ears to go around the manor and I can image him crashing through my place, while trying to get a drink.

"No, no Erwin don't do something so silly, after all I forgive you so please don't go around blindfolded!"-Cordelia 

I screamed out loud at my butler as we both stopped talking and we waited there for a couple of second. It felt like the longest seconds of my life as I waited for the reply back to my confession of guilt. Erwin looked at me through his blindfolds and started snickering at me with his hand on his mouth.

"Mistress do you really expect me to go walking around in a blindfold? Who do you think I am? Of course I'm not stupid enough to do that and if I actually did it, than I would ruin your reputation as the humiliating blind butler."-Erwin

I clapped my hands slowly, as I looked at Erwin who had thought he had triumph over me. Noticing my slow clapping and calm demeanor he started to become more cautious of my next action as he should because I'm going to show him what he gets for tricking me with his tricks.

"Now, Erwin do you know what happens when you trick your own master into announcing her own defeat?"-Cordelia 

Erwin made a gulping sound before I force my hands around his neck like showing a friendly gestures but there was no friendliness in my eyes. As my smile seems to cooled down the room's temperature into freezing state. 

"We are going to have a nice long conversation before we go off to the laboratory Erwin."-Cordelia 

Some time past after my lecture on how to not trick Erwin's master(me) into apologizing for something that he did, and after we were done with that his face was extremely pale as I stood up. Well, enough of this it's about time we get a move on as I don't want to wait here all day. My plans won't blossom if I just stay at my home for the entire day and it sure as hell wouldn't help me accomplish my goal of advancing my experiments in magic while having a some fun.

So, since I have time before I go off to the meeting I decided to go to the laboratory and do a couple of things before going to the palace. Me and the pale Erwin followed a narrow hallway towards my underground laboratory as I'm too lazy to build it somewhere faraway. We walked through multiple heavily heavily guarded doors that are protected by sentries with sharper and durable iron tools, as they took a glance at Erwin an me, specifically my chest area before closing their eyes.

Erwin stopped slumping over from my small lecture and looked at the sentries as if he was about to say something and stopped. He took a sigh before following me through the hallways until we reached a large facility that holds multiple reinforced glass squares. 

Each of them containing a prisoners that have done numerous atrocities that I dislike such as rapist, serial killers, bandits, and many more. The scientist here uses these vermin to test out some of the more dangerous spells for humans and let me tell you they don't usually live afterwards.

The ratio for living is about every 1 out of 500 people survive in this facility and you might call this inhumane but I call it progress. Well, this is the boring way of experimenting with magic, sure you are making faster progress but I want to do it by going on adventures, maybe try to snatch myself a dragon kill or something. 

I thought to myself as one of my automaton maid walked towards me with papers in her hand with closed eyes. Marielle is an ancient automaton with black long hair with blue eyes as I had found her in a ruin somewhere in the Lebion region. 

Everything about her screamed out beauty when I first found her own my adventures when I was still a child. She said something like a name in cryptic words before adjusting to our language, when I awoke her up from the slumber she had in a metal capsule.

"Marielle what's the status on experiment no.1. "-Cordelia

Marielle opened up her eyes to look at me and began to move her mouth.

"Prisoner no.1 is going through intense pain and surviving very well as his body is starting to change little by little into a more reptilian like."-Marielle

My eyes locked on to the papers she gave me and I sigh with relief as it seems like everything is going well. Also, no.1 is an serial killer that already lost his mind and kept on smashing on the glass as if trying to smash it open but that is made of much more than reinforced glass as well like adamantine.

"Marielle, I want you to give this letter to Leon and after that follow me."-Cordelia 

I gave out my orders and the obedient Marielle instantly disappeared in a matter of second before returning to my side. Well, let me talk about my apprentice Leon who is quite young just around my age as I am like 16. 

Anyway, he begged me to take him under my wing for at least 60 days before I finally accept and he basically became the vice head of the facility. The guy wears glasses and mostly a lab coat as he has long black hair that I remembered mistaking him for a girl last time I was in the lab. 

Finally, I accomplish everything that is needed to be finished and walked off with my 2 servants following me from behind. We went in a hallway that leads to a garage with a carriage in it. Erwin opened the white door so, I can go in the carriage with Marielle following right behind me. 

The carriage was first class as it had soft seats and a magic enchantment which was placed on it to make the passengers feel almost no tremor feeling when they moved around. Everything to pillows for sleeping and a cooler for drinks when the mouth of the passengers went dry along they way. The carriage itself has a magic spell to keep at a cozy warm temperature when it snows or if it's too hot. 

Marielle sat in front of me while I sat right behind her but the seats were facing each other as we are a couple of feet away from each other to give optimal space for the other sitting party. I relaxed my should after sitting down on the comfortable nice seats that made me feel great. 

Erwin sat in the front of the carriage to guide the well trained stallions that would put war horses to shame with how much stamina and speed they have on them. If you were to put these horses into a war than they would be smart enough to dodge spikes and at the same time keep the rider from falling off. The horses are practically some of the best I have but today will be a important day for me.

We started moving after Erwin guided the horses on the road to begin traveling towards the royal palace. Beginning to move, I decided to ask the automaton on what was life back then in the ancient times, but she would hardly answer some of my question. For some reason, she looked out of the reinforce window with curtains to cover the inside and sighed.

"Well, it was always quite fun back in those times when master would treat me like his equal and made everything seem brighter."-Marielle

I looked at her as she for the first time had made a extremely happy face for a long extended of time before going back to the poker face she wore.

"Is that so? Sorry that I had dragged away you from the place master put you at."-Cordelia

I apologize with my sincerest feeling as I felt guilty about what I had done to her.

"No, no it's fine you have been treating me like we are equal and you are someone that should deserve respect."-Marielle 

She said with quickness as if returning the apology back to me.

"Besides, I don't think my master is alive anymore."-Marielle 

Marielle said with a sadden face but quickly came back from it by slapping both of her cheeks.

"It has been 500 years since that time and I am pretty sure he wouldn't mind me finding a new master."-Marielle 

Marielle notices how sad the atmosphere was and tried to brighten up the mood a little bit.

"Anyway, what about you master? Do you have anyone that you like?"-Marielle 

Marielle started looking at me with eyes of curiosity as she looked at me. 

"You know me so well Marielle, but no there is not a single soul that has possibly made me go head over heels for the person as of yet."-Cordelia 

This devious girl started smile even more than when she began and started talking.

"What about Erwin?"-Marielle

I looked at her and blinked a couple of times before answering the girls question.

"You already know that I like him as a friend Marielle."-Cordelia 

I heard someone scream outside and thought maybe it was just my imagination as Marielle had the look of disappointment. I looked outside the curtains to see people enjoying themselves as I wait for us to arrive to the royal palace. That was when we suddenly came to a halt, as I saw Erwin stop the carriage and rushed to an group of people.

Well I thought this was going to be a quick trip but it seems like this is going to take a little bit longer, I sighed to myself and gone outside as well to help with Erwin with whatever he is doing.
