Things were much busier now that the dungeon was open to adventurers again. Elora and Eldrin also seemed more than happy to return to work and kept excitedly talking about how nice it was to sleep in such a comfortable bed again. Veronica still hadn't set up a proper room for herself on the second floor, so they were using their old arrangements for the time being. It would have to be sorted out in the future, but it was just one of many things on her to-do list.
Apparently, the time the dungeon had been closed to the public had only made everyone more eager to return when it reopened, so it didn't take long to restock the tavern's kitchen with the fresh food supplies once more. Of course, Veronica didn't want to keep things closed for any longer than necessary, so she did a soft opening right away with a limited menu. She already had things like flour or the yuzu soda since they wouldn't go bad without a significant amount of time passing by.
Elora and Eldrin, thankfully, helped her out with directing adventurers to the list of tributes she had placed in the tavern, so it made it easier to get many of the supplies she needed to build things on the second floor. It did still take a few days for anyone to bring in anything she needed, but that was fine since she had to wait until things were sorted out on the first floor anyway. However, now she was officially ready to start working on the second floor!
Over the last two weeks, she had received 2,450 DP from room rentals, 2,485 DP from tavern sales, and 304 DP from repeat tributes, which had made it so that her new total was 28,942 dungeon points. She had received plenty of new tributes, of course, but all of them had been used for room rentals or payment at the tavern, so she didn't have a separate number for those. The new tributes included: bamboo shoots, rattan basket, potted bamboo palm, coconuts, shea nuts, Chinese mesona, anko red beans, black tea, and jasmine flowers. Some of these [Items]weren't ones she particularly needed right now, but it wasn't like she was going to complain either.
Veronica cracked her neck and hands as she readied herself to get to work on the second floor. There was a lot to do today and she didn't want to waste time. Thankfully, no one was on the second floor right now, but she doubted that would last very long. She needed to work on things while she could still work unhindered from their presence.
Today's focus was the second-floor inn side of the dungeon. As she had already been thinking over the matter of what to do about the inn costs versus diminishing tributes for people to pay with for a while, she had come up with a suitable solution for the second floor, at least. The plan was to use 18-Units by 18-Units rooms, which she began the process of making twelve of. Not that it mattered much now that she had more than enough mana to spend, but these each cost 36 MP to create, which was just under half of her new mana cap of 100 MP. Since she could easily earn 1 MP per minute per non-dungeon entity in her dungeon, though, and she had several people currently on the first floor, it only took her a matter of minutes to make all of the rooms.
From there, each room was divided into four sections with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a main living area. This was all accomplished with the wooden partition walls she had unlocked for the first floor, of course, so the dungeon still considered the whole space as one room, even if her patrons wouldn't perceive it that way. She planned to charge 75 DP per night for each of these rooms, which was 25 DP more than the 9-Units by 11-Units inn rooms on the first floor. However, the larger size as well as the fact that they could accommodate two people made it so that the raise in price seemed fitting.
Before she could furnish the rooms, though, she had to do a lot of research into new furniture to fit the theme she was going for. Veronica was hardly an expert in other countries, but she had studied different furniture styles by watching home renovation shows and reading magazines on the subject before she transmigrated. From her impressions on the subject, furniture made with materials like bamboo, teak, and rattan was the most fitting for a country like Indonesia, so that is what she decided to go with.

The padded mattress and duck feather pillows could be reused from the first floor, but Veronica felt a change of color scheme was in order on top of the change in furniture style. This part was enough for the beds, but she still needed other furniture just for the bedroom to be completed, much less everything else.

An end table was placed on either side of the bed while a desk and chair were placed along the wall opposite the bed. There were wooden doors connecting the room to the hallways, which meant the only remaining space for the armoires was beside the bed opposite the doorways. Feeling something was still missing, she added the new potted bamboo palms on either side of the desks to add some greenery to tie the bedrooms together.
Next up were the bathrooms, which were largely the same as the first-floor ones, but a tad smaller. There was still a separate section for the toilets, which she decided to just use the same porcelain ones for. However, for the rest of it, she went ahead and researched new designs.

Veronica would actually have to find an opportunity to add in the bathroom wall mirrors downstairs as well in the future. Why she hadn't bothered to research them before, she wasn't sure, but it wasn't like it was ever too late to improve the quality of the rooms. The tubs were actually closer to the Japanese bamboo barrel tubs with the way they looked, but they still worked the same as the porcelain version from the first floor. As for the copper faucets, she just wanted it to match with the sink.
She had added a cupboard full of toiletries to the first floor bathrooms, but that had to wait to be added until after she did the research for the kitchen. Might as well have everything match and be on theme, after all. She quickly added a bamboo palm to the bathrooms and then the hallway outside of the bedrooms as well. More greenery couldn't hurt, right? Finally, it was time to complete the research for the kitchens.

Where most kitchen counters tended to involve a decorative stone or stainless steel top, these ones were all bamboo. There were pros and cons to all materials one could make their kitchen counters with, but it wasn't like most of them mattered in the dungeon. Any damage to the wood would be reset by the dungeon whenever the room wasn't in use so there was no need to worry.
The fridge and stove from the first floor worked just fine here as well while the sink design from the bathrooms was multipurpose enough to be used here as well. So, that completed the inn room designs. There wasn't much else Veronica needed to work on for the inn side now. She just wanted to make another cleaning closet, public baths, and a reception area so that the inn would feel more complete and be able to carry out the basic functions from day to day.
The cleaning closet on the second floor was almost identical to the one on the first floor. The main difference was that she added a 100 MP limit spawner to the room and summoned two brownies to occupy the room when she was finished setting it up. They were quick to introduce themselves to her, more than eager to please.
"Greetings Dungeon Master, I am Aurelia!"
"And I'm Rosalind!"
She had ended up getting two females. Whether that was by the luck of the draw or because all brownies were female, she wasn't exactly sure. They were both rather pretty, but a bit hairy than a Human might be with pointy ears that made them look similar to goblins in appearance. Elf ears tended to be a bit smaller, even despite sharing the pointed tips. As for their size, it was about that of the Dwarves she had seen in the dungeon, but their frames were more scrawny rather than being as broad. Where Aurelia had more of a green complexion with yellow eyes and white hair, Rosalind had green eyes and a more blondish white hair. Neither looked particularly old, so she had to wonder if all brownies had white hair or if it was just a coincidence. They didn't exactly look related, but that didn't mean she wanted to make assumptions after only summoning two brownies either.
Veronica didn't ask any of the questions she had, but merely kept things more professional as she replied
"Yes, hello. You can refer to me as Lady Veronica, but you likely won't be seeing too much of me most of the time. As you can see, this is a cleaning closet, which it will be your job to maintain alongside cleaning the inn rooms on this side of the dungeon. I'll help you learn the ropes starting tomorrow morning, but we'll have to practice on the first floor as it's unlikely this floor will see any patrons for a while."
Veronica further explained the details to them and then left them to their own devices, there was still work to be done. The public baths were next on the docket, but they didn't require any research. Still, she did have to spend 20 dungeon points on enlarging two bamboo baths for the bathrooms. The rest was nearly identical to the first floor with toilets, towel racks, potted bamboo palms in place of the potted peace lilies, and sinks. They were just in the new bamboo style instead of the porcelain and basic wood she had used on the first floor.
Finally, she just had the reception room to worry about. As things coincidentally turned out, she had the same amount of space for the cleaning closet and public baths on the second floor as she did on the first floor. So, the new reception area ended up being the size of the room she had been using for her personal use on the first floor. It was a bit smaller than the 15-Units by 19-Units one, but 11-Units by 18-Units was still sufficient for what she was going to use it for.
As the inn side of the dungeon didn't have limitations on which [Monsters] she could use, so long as they were meant for the inn and not the dungeon side, she assigned another will-o'-wisp to the reception room behind yet another receptionist counter with shelving behind it. She hadn't used fireplaces in the bedrooms and she didn't bother with it here either. Instead, she spent 10 DP to research bamboo and rattan armchairs, 10 DP for bamboo and rattan coffee tables, and 10 DP to research woven bamboo mats. Then she threw some potted bamboo palms down and called it a day.
Overall, it had cost her 460 DP to research everything for her new setup, but that still left her with 28,482 dungeon points remaining. Veronica felt this really wasn't too bad and was quite happy with her hefty savings, which she was certain would only continue to grow in the future.
