Chapter 4 - First Day Of School POVs

Tokyo, Japan 2019

Tokyo International High School, one of Japan's most prestigious learning establishments, is a place where elite children from across the world come to study. The students enrolled here are mostly rich scions of a family or geniuses accepted by the school. Of course, there are also students sponsored by rich families or organizations with worldwide influence. This school, with its 100-year history, has never seen a student who has been able to transfer in, that was true until today…

"Ugh! I am late on my first day! Rose will not let me hear the end of it if she finds out" He was supposed to report to the teacher's lounge 30 minutes ago but got too caught up in his training and forgot the time and date.

He knocks on the teacher's lounge door and slides it open. "Excuse me, I apologize for my tardiness, but I was supposed to report here to get my class schedule, I am referred to as Acheron Belau". As he looked in, he noticed only one teacher inside. "Being late is a violation of school policy, be sure to not let it happen again" the teacher said before even looking up at him. He cocked his head to the side, he could tell she was half Japanese, half European, by the contours of her face, one of her parents must hail from Britain. In seconds Acheron had recognized her ancestry, most people would've thought she was fully Japanese. "I apologize, I got lost on the way here" Acheron confidently lied straight to her face, knowing full well no one would believe such a cliched line. The teacher didn't push the issue and handed him his schedule.

"Here's your schedule," she says, " there is still another 30 minutes left in homeroom, please head up to the 3rd floor and introduce yourself to your classmates, I won't be seeing you out" Acheron grabbed the piece a paper and says " Thank you, sensei" Acheron waves goodbye and closes the door behind him.

Acheron sighs in relief and starts to talk to himself "Was my act authentic? I have no idea how a high schooler is supposed to behave! Oh well, I don't think there were any mistakes" Acheron, feeling confident in his high school student act, begins his ascent towards his classroom.

Teacher's POV

Back inside the teacher's lounge, the teacher is looking over Acheron's student file. "What a weird student…" she says, "Just who is he? His student file shows nothing" she gives another look through the file and just puts it down "There's nothing here! Just the most basic info and that's it! Just a name, age and a picture"

She had never seen such a ridiculous student file, she understands some high-profile students attend here, given the kind of institution that it is, but even the U.S president's daughter has more info than what is shown here.

She couldn't figure out anything from the file, nothing explained why he had come in speaking English then switched into French mid-sentence. Luckily for her, she could speak French fluently, so she didn't notice at first, it wasn't till he left that she realized they weren't even speaking Japanese the whole time. "I better keep an eye on him, the pressure he gives off, and the way he dresses might attract some trouble. Oh well, I got a class to teach in 60 minutes, I better get back to work".

Acheron's POV

As Acheron walked up the stairs, he appeared to be deep in thought. 'How should I act around these children? Should I reinvent myself and create a new identity? No, that wouldn't seem like the right choice, I transferred in as a 2nd year, there is only one more year after this one, and then ill never see them again.

Wait! Rose had mentioned something about going to a university after I'm done here, I guess I'll go there too, and by how distinguished this school appears to be, there is a high chance of seeing these students again, unless I go the opposite direction and choose one of the lower-tier universities' I smiled at my thoughts,

'Humanity sure has advanced in the last thousand years, to think knowledge is so easily available now, I remember a time when it was treated as a treasure, and only available to a select few.' I start to laugh realizing how maybe he would be unable to connect with these students. 'Look at me here, an old monster acting as a child, I wonder if I had met their ancestors before, it's possible, the last time I was in Japan, it was barely a country.'

I shake my head trying to get rid of these useless thoughts. 'Rose had me watch some of the most mainstream anime this country had to offer, she wanted me to get some ideas on how high schoolers act but…. Should I be trying to build a harem of high school girls? Though I've had harems before, nowadays, it's kind of frowned upon in most parts of the world.'

I shrug my shoulders in indifference 'Even if people wanted to stop me from doing that, I wouldn't care, there's no one alive capable of telling me what to do!' As Acheron let these domineering thoughts run through his head, he accidentally let escape a wisp of his killing intent. He panicked slightly and admonished himself a little bit hoping it didn't cause any trouble.

'Shit! I got careless, luckily there wasn't anyone in my immediate vicinity, or people would wonder how they passed out for no reason' Acheron had woken up from his internal monologue, and realized he had arrived in front of his classroom door, he reached for the door, slid it open and took his first step inside.
