The next few days, we did a one-day request each day. I was always accompanied by Mynie and Asger, the rest kinda come in shifts, usually only one of them. Asger took the role of the spear behind me, while Mynie just observed. I can feel the difference between Bern and Asger in that Asger gets way more in the way, he even whacks me with the spear on accident every so often, which is frustrating. Guess just as I am learning it, he is too, huh?
I also start to pick up throwables. I borrowed a knife from Bosir, a throwing axe from Mynie, a javelin from Bern and tried them out. The axe and javelin are way harder to aim. Larn, the self-proclaimed marksman has a weird stick, into which he loads a javelin, and sends it flying with impressive force. I tried borrowing it, but where his flew straight, mine spiralled all over the place and flew astray. It apparently take a lot of practice to master, so I am gonna pass for now. The axes and javelins do more damage, but I think I am going to stick with the knife that is easier to aim with, so I should have a set of throwing knives made sometime soon.
I have also settled somewhat and found a new routine. I get up before anyone else, guess they drink pretty much every night. Is being a hunter a stressing job? I recall my father from my previous life sometimes coming home late, because he needed to go "unwind" from the stress. He was a legal secretary. Wonder if laws and courtrooms exist here, or it's just kinda enforced by what people feel is right? Anyway, after the daily request, I swing my weighty training sword before turning in relatively early.
It is a day like any other this past week or so, but what makes it different is when we enter. There seems to be a full-blown party going on, much greater than the one held for me, but I guess that impression mostly stems from there being more people. One of them is a tall silvester, even for his kind. He is sitting down, but he is still taller than me and Mynie.
There is a pale young girl with blonde, almost white hair and light red, almost pink eyes. If I had ever heard the fairy tale of vampires or fairies in this world, she would definitely be suspected of being one. There is two look-alikes with brown hair and green eyes. They are of a rather normal stature and the only thing I can tell that separates them is that one has a scar on his right cheek. And lastly there is an old man, sitting quietly in the corner. He seems to be wearing a lighter armor than most, and has a cloak wrapped around him while enjoying a drink. He has quite the magnificient beard, going down in a neat isosceles to his stomach.

"Ah, there they are" Bosir yells accompanied by his trademark hearty laughter. "Come, come, everybody greet the little fellow."
The first to get here is the silvester. He is giant, must be 9 feet tall. The ceiling is tall here, but he would hit his head if he jumped.
"I am Kamas, nice to meet you little one" He says, extending one of his hands. I take and shake it, it is rather rugged. "Greetings, old Kamas, I am Yos"
The next to greet me are the two look-alikes but they approach me at the same time. "That one is Toben" one says, "That one is Caper" the one with the scar says. ""Nice to meet you"" they say and each extend one of their hands at the same time. What is this? Did they practice this weird introduction? I just shake it off and hold each of their hands with one of mine, they have extended one left and one right hand towards so it works out, even though I have to cross my arms to do so.
"Greetings Old Caper, Old Toben, pleased to meet you"
Next is the girl. "I'm Atna" She says curtly
I extend my hand and say "Pleased to meet you Atna, I am Yos", but she completely disregards it, in fact looks a little insulted and says:
"You will do well to address me as older sister" Whoops, maybe this is another custom. I don't want to necessarily offend people, and I have just been addressing Asger as an equal the entire time.
"Forgive me, my mistake older sister Atna" I say, still holding the hand out, but she merely emits a grunt a retreats to the central table. Oh well, at least I can probably make other amends here. "And forgive me if I have offended you, older brother Asger" I say, turning to the fellow apprentice who had entered together with me, but he just mutters "ah, no" and looks really uncomfortable. Maybe he is bad with formalities.
And lastly, I am lead to the old man. "Greetings, old man, I am Yos" I say.
He slowly moves his eyes up and looks me all over. "Greetings Yos, this old one is called Sirgut. I am awaiting your ascendance to hunter, so that I can retire in peace" He says and lets out a dry laugh. I then try to escape the inevitable drinking, but Toben, Caper and Mynie and latch on to me and get me to start drinking. Oh well, it isn't so bad having people insists you have some fun, so let's just surrender and drink a little. But I am watching you, Mynie.
