Chapter 3

The Heavenly Wandering Sword

Chapter 3

Li Jian looked at the darker skinned man and sighed. “We signed the life and death contract together at his suggestion. Why do you harbor grudges?” The man simply smirked at him. “You are a nobody, you think you can make demands of the Bloody Fist Sect?” Li Jian shook his head. “Alright then. If that is how the Bloody Fist Sect will act in public, then so be it. I will take on all of you then.”

“I am Dai Ye Ge of the Bloody Fist Sect, and I am enough.” The man who shot the flames at him earlier lept onto the ring with both fists covered with a bloody flame. “This is the 5th level of the Asura Fist.” He said as he struck Li Jian with both fists. Li Jian was still thinking about which tavern to go to and was distracted. However, the flames were extinguished as soon as Dai Ye Ge struck. Li Jian simply looked at him and scratched his head. “Brother Dai, you should start a massage salon, your techniques are really quite comfortable.” Dai Ye Ge howled with anger, his entire body enthroned by a tower of flames as he struck again, sending the Asura flames towards Li Jian with a roar.

Li Jian sighed to himself and simply took a step forward towards the flames. He thought of the most basic techniques of the Sword Arts he cultivated, the Divine Sword Dao. Technique 1: Unstopping blade. Of course instead of a sword, he simply used his hand and cut the flames apart in a single gesture. He did the technique without using any spiritual force, as spiritual force would simply be too much. The flames were parted and extinguished by his single gesture. Dai Ye Ge looked at him in astonishment.

“Good technique, you have a good foundation. Very solid. Level 6 Golden Core if I am correct. However, you lack understanding as to the technique itself. You only know to go through the motions.” Li Jian could understand the Asura Fist. After all, it seemed to be a minute portion of one of the Martial Arts that the Martial Deity practiced, the Divine Tao Fist. The Divine Tao Fist was a punch that held every aspect of the Tao in it’s single punch, peerless in power in comparison to any other fist based martial arts. Li Jian had learned it through battling with Hei Chuin Zi throughout the centuries.

“Let me show you what Asura Fist should look like.” Injecting only a tiny bit of spiritual force, Li Jian drew his body back and stilled his fist, the flames of Asura summoning around him and forming a burning circle around the two before he would launch his fist forward. The flaming aura of a demon roared out from his fist, the pressure immense as Dai Ye Ge felt himself unable to move, suppressed completely by the pressures of the move. Li Jian opened his fist, his fingers spread out wide and the single demon aura changed into thirty six. The crowd would collapse onto the floor from the pressure before Li Jian stood up abruptly, the Asura aura dissipated instantly. Dai Ye Ge collapsed on the floor, unable to speak at seeing how the Asura Fist looked like. “Impossible, impossible.. not even the Senior Elders have mastered the Asura Fist to this level..”

Li Jian walked upto the barely conscious Dai Ye Ge and took his storage ring. “Payment for your lesson today, senior brother Dai.” He pocketed it and then looked at the fighters who remained. They were all getting up slowly from the suppression they had experienced. “If you still want to fight, then let us fight but unfortunately you have delayed my business for too long so I’m afraid I cannot afford to be patient anymore. If you still want to fight, bring a life and death contract. And all of you at once. I really am in a hurry.”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

In saying this, he released a bit of killing intent but none of the fighters were above Level 10 Golden Core. Li Jian was a bit impatient and released too much, the other fighters collapsing to the floor from the weight of his killing intent. Li Jian looked around at them and shook his head before hopping off the fighting ring quickly and began to walk towards the exit.

“Senior, please wait.” He turned his head to see a man in purple who bowed to him. “Senior, please, the Mistress of the Purple Pavilion humbly asks for a moment of your time.” Li Jian sighed and turned to look at the man with impatience etched on his face. “Please forgive me Senior, I really am in a hurry.” Li Jian responded. “I heard that the Skytower Tavern gets quite busy in the evening. I must get there early to book a private room.” The man bowed again. “Senior master, if that is the case then I can be of assistance. The Purple Pavilion has an exclusive VIP room in the Skytower tavern, in fact at the top level. Second only to the room reserved for the Imperial Family. If senior master is willing, then the room can be reserved for your use if you are willing to meet with the Purple Pavilion Mistress.” Li Jian smiled brightly and nodded. “Then I will have to trouble you.” The Purple Pavilion servant bowed and gestured for him to follow.

He was lead up the stairs to the top floor where the VIP balconies were. Li Jian was shown to the door of one of the rooms. He noticed that the man simply bowed, as if intending for Li Jian to enter himself. Li Jian shrugged and walked through the door. The first thing he noted was the comparative luxury of the large room. A tray of fine wine and exotic treats adorned the table while the woman who had requested to see him stood up from her seat and bowed. “Greetings senior master. I am Bai Zi Hua, the Mistress of the Purple Pavilion.” Li Jian bowed in response. “I am Li Jian, it is a pleasure to greet senior sister.”

The woman laughed brightly and gestured for him to sit. After he took his seat on the opulently upholstered couch, she first poured him a cup of wine before sitting down herself. He sipped from the wine and nodded. It was no where near what Xian Lan brewed but he was the literal deity of wine. “I hope the wine is to your liking.” She asked, sitting down with the quiet grace of a woman who had always been used to being in charge. Li Jian smiled and set the cup down. “I’m afraid it’s wonders are wasted on me, I come from a simple fishing village. I do not know how to appreciate the subtle and different flavours of such a fine wine.”

The woman giggled rather coquettishly before staring at him with her purple eyes, the rest of her face covered up by the purple silk veil. “Brother Li, I asked you up here first to apologize. I’m afraid that the other fighters that you so ably defeated were sent by me. Please forgive me, I am still young and don’t understand the world. I wanted to see what Brother Li was capable of.” Li Jian smiled and nodded. “I hope I did not trouble the senior sister then.” She shook her head, the veil shimmying delicately at her gesture. Nascent soul, at least level eight. He thought to himself. “Strange, I can’t detect any trace of cultivation in him.” Bai Zi Hua thought to herself. “How was he able to defeat the entire top ten list so easily?”

“Second of all, I wanted to make it clear that the Purple Pavilion does not wish to be enemies. I hope in the future that Brother Li will remember us as friends, and that the Purple Pavilion is willing to assist you at any of your requests.” Li Jian thought about it for a moment before smiling. “Of course, I assume that the Purple Pavilion is asking as well if they ask for assistance in the future, if I will provide it.” Bai Zi Hua nodded and curtsied slightly. Li Jian however shook his head. “Senior sister, I do not wish to offend you. Quite frankly I do not wish to be involved at all with any of the politics of this city. All I wish for is a simple life. I will remember Purple Pavilion as friends but I will not blindly provide any assistance that is asked.” The woman nodded and stood up, bowing again. “I am glad to hear that Brother Li. As well, arrangements have been made for you at the Skytower Tavern.”

She handed over a small token of the Purple Pavilion. “This is a Purple Pavilion VIP token. It signifies that your stay at the Purple Pavilion VIP room at Skytower will be taken care of by us. I hope you can accept a small token of appreciation.” Li Jian looked at the token and pocketed, bowing in thanks. “Thank you senior sister. I will take my leave then, as I look quite forward to enjoying the Skytower Tavern.”

As Li Jian departed, the woman crossed her legs and smoothed over the purple gown she wore. She knew that she would have to tread carefully around someone that was capable of bringing down the top ten list of the Purple Pavilion fighters just like that.
