CHAPTER 10: TRAINING FOR MASTERY

What is a player?, A person who can travel to both the real world and the other world. What is their purpose? To clear dungeons and take commands from the system?

Last night, Kaito was getting ready to go to the other world to train his dagger techniques. He packed food and other necessities enough for 2 days because he was planning to enter a dungeon and he was trying to understand the system and he understood somethings, the system screen can be activated in 2 ways, the first is when it gives quests and rewards and the second is when the player thinks about it and it have a lot of things on the screen and most notably a shop, a map and a help function, the shop was for gears, weapons, mana potions and other things. The map records every place Kaito had been to and right now, it showed, the dungeon he conquered and some parts of the forest that he had explored while hunting monsters for the daily quest. Kaito understood that he didn't know a lot of things so, he decided to ask the help function about things he wanted to know about, like the players and the system. 'What is a player?' he asked and it replied, '[A chosen one by the system, to get ready for the great disaster]', Kaito was confused, what was the great disaster? and he asked it and it replied that it couldn't answer at this time. He was more confused, he wanted to know more about it and asked when the great disaster will happen, but the answer was the same. Kaito wondered when the right time would be and said he will forget it for now and ask it after some time and he decided to know other things that would help him in his training. He understood somethings about the dungeons and the other world after some questions, he had the knowledge that dungeons are portals for people who aren't players to go into the other world, but it only shows some part of the other world, not the whole as it does for players. He also discovered that players can enter dungeons if they want to discover a part of the other world, which would help them in the future as the dungeon they entered will be recorded on their map but will show them the area they only explored.

He also learned something the world hasn't discovered yet, there are 2 types of dungeons and they were, a normal dungeon and an infected dungeon. A normal dungeon is the normal dungeon used by hunters whereas, an infected dungeon is a dungeon that took a lot of mana from the surrounding and had become a dangerous, unstable gate where people cannot return from until they clear the dungeon fully, it is like an inside dungeon but the difference is that, an infected dungeon is not located in the other world that Kaito knows but, another world and the time passes ten times faster in the dungeon than in both the other world and in the real world and, if the dungeon isn't cleared in 7 days according to the time of the real world[approximately 70 days] monsters will break out from the dungeon causing something called a dungeon break. As so, Kaito decided to go into an Infected dungeon and he knew a way to make an Infected dungeon thanks to the systems help.

{Next day, In the morning}

Kaito went to a near dungeon and some guards were standing there and one of the guards said, "Good day sir, can I see your hunting license?". Kaito was confused by what the guard said because he wasn't a hunter and didn't know he needed a license and so he was about to apologize and leave and was thinking about how he missed that information and was going to train in the other world, one of the other guards came and whispered something to the guard Kaito was talking to.

Moments later, the guard turned back to Kaito and said, "Sorry Mr. Kaito for not recognizing you, you can enter now you don't need the license"

Kaito was confused again but didn't complain as things went his way. He asked the guard if there were any people that had entered the dungeon before him and is still there and the guard said that there were no people in the dungeon as Kaito had come very early in the morning. Kaito thanked the guard for the information and stood in front of the dungeon gate, it was blue and he felt some kind of energy coming from it. This was Kaito's real first dungeon experience in the real world and he was attempting something dangerous as well by trying to make an infected dungeon.

Kaito remembered the way to make a normal dungeon into an infected dungeon, it was, to release mana from the body in an inappropriate manner and the system called it a mana rage, and, if the person isn't careful enough he might be out cold for several days or even die. As so, he focused his mana and leaked it out of his body unevenly and inappropriately. The dungeon was taking in all the mana he was leaking and it was draining him but, he kept enough mana so he wouldn't get knocked out.

Black circles were appearing from the sides of the dungeon entrance and it looked like it was being infected and Kaito understood why it was called an infected dungeon. The dungeon entrance became gray with some traces of light blue from its original color aand it seemed like it was waiting for someone to enter and Kaito enterd moments later. As soon as he entered, the door like dungeon became fully black and seemed like it closed and a gust of wind came out from it as it changed colors.

Kaito had entered the dungeon and as he thought, the entrance closed behind him. The dungeon looked like a big desert and a big canyon combined and with a very clear sky, he was on top of one of the rocks in this landscape. He made his way down the rocks and looked around. He thought he would face monsters as he did in the inside dungeon back where he met Drakonos and Citrak but, no monsters were there, it was empty and moments later the system's screen popped up and it said, "[The player have entered an infected dungeon and it is out of Gorgoria and the player has 70 days to clear this dungeon which means 7 days in the real world]". Kaito knew that the infected dungeon was out of the other world or as the system called, 'Gorgoria' and time passed 10 times faster but he was a little happy knowing that the other world had a name, as he was awkward calling it the 'other world'. He also knew he didn't have 70 days to clear the dungeon but 20 days so he decided he should start looking for monsters.

Kaito went further into the dungeon looking for monsters and even though he did find some monsters like goblins and some wolfs, they were too low ranked for him at his level and they only gave small exp and they weren't enough for his weapon practice as he could kill them in one punch right now after all he has reached level 12 and also knew about stats and how to divide them and as so his stats were like this.

He was a little dissapointed by his stamina but he thought that his Gorgorian body was connected to his real world body and thats why his stamina was very low and his intelligence was very high. As for his strength stat, he used to lift some weights before and since he came to Gorgoria, he had been predominantly using his fists so, he thought that was why his strength stat was also high. AS for his mana, he didn't anything out of it because he just found what mana was only a week ago but, he decided to train his mana as well in this dungeon.

As he travelled further into the dungeon, he started finding more monsters and some were strong enough for dagger practice but still they died in a single slash and even if it took multiple slashes to kill them they didn't give him much expierence as he expected. As so, he travelled more into the inside of the dungeon until night and found a cave to sleep in and practiced to maintain his mana and try make it take form as he saw from the thief who broke into his house as he returned from the inside dungeon. He practiced some swings and moves he thought were cool and some body workouts before eating and going to sleep. He wasn't afraid of being attacked by monsters as he thought he could easily defeat them even if they attacked him in his sleep. At the end of the day he only managed to get to 2% in his dagger practice which was vey dissapointing for him.

2 weeks have passed since Kaito enterd the dungeon and he has travelled very far into the dungeon, except some monsters and some few attacks while he was sleeping, the two weeks were very easy. He managed to get his dagger mastery progression upto 45% and he got two new stats, reflex and sense. He also managed to level up by 3 putting him on level 15 and he added 5 points to his strength and stamina and 10 points to his mana while his intelligence increased by 3.

He fought thousands of monsters and survived and now finally, he arrived at a door which looked like the boss room and moments later the systems screen popped up and it read, "[You have arrived at the boss's room]" and that further strengthened his assumption. He warmed up a little with stretches and pushed open the door, it was a little heavy but it was easy for him. He walked into the room and looked for the monster but instead came a dozen of monsters but he dispatched them in mere moments. He looked around again and saw an object which looked like a turtles shell but it was very gigantic and was emitting a dark aura, he got closer to it and knocked on it and as soon as he did , he retreated back wards as he felt something dangerous, the shell was a big monster, a turtle.

It looked around and as soon as it saw Kaito, it rushed up to him very fastly and he couldn't even react. The turtle pushed Kaito away with her face and started preparing something in her mouth-- it was fire. Kaito knew he was in danger and tried to get away but the force he was pushed by cracked some bones and it wasn't easy to get up let alone get away, but he summond every ounce of strength he had to get up and he looked for a way to get away, he saw that the door was still open and tried to walk to it, but he was a second late as the turtle fired its fire at him, but he wasn't done, he took out his dagger and let it steal his mana and he tried to deflect the fire away from him, he succeded but the rebound force pushed him away and it seems like he calculated it because he was out of the room and at the entrance. He closed the door with what energy he had left and layed on his back saying, "What is that monster? Can I win against it" but instead of being teriffied he was smiling, "What is going on with me? What is this thrill I feel for a fight?" he wondered. He got up and leaned against a wall and tried healing his wounds and broken bones and he decide that he had to defeat that monster but he had 5 days so he had to do it fast as so he decided to challenge it every two hours, day and night.

"Phew, at last I defeated it, how many times did I attempt this 50 times? 60? I don't know but for now better go back to the real world and get ready for the event" said a beat up looking Kaito sitting on a big corpse and looking at a screen showing the following-
