Inside a room, what looked like an 18-year-old man/teenage boy was sitting on one of the only objects in the room; the bed.
His blonde hair was short and swept to the side with both the back and sides shaved incredibly short. He was currently leaning on his hands, his crimson red eyes gleaming with excited lights, but overall his mind was obviously somewhere else.
This man's name was Jason, his last name didn't really matter, and on Earth, he was a fighter/killer for Hire. He worked with many, many gangs, being used to fight for each gang because of his 'talents'. Since Jason could walk, all he'd ever known was fighting, fighting and even more fighting.
He didn't have many social skills and his skills with money were even worse, he wasn't too bright neither. But the last part was because of his lack of education, generally, he was pretty perceptive, picking up on things quite easily.
Anyone who really knew him wrote it down as him relying on his instincts like the animal he was. Jason didn't mind it, it was only a joke and frankly, he agreed, he was relying on his instincts.
Because of these instincts he developed, his lack of social and monetary skills was not too detrimental to him in modern society because his talent in fighting allowed him to get known by many gangs and their money continued to flow into his bank account.
Despite this, he wasn't invincible, as proven right now as he was dead, sprayed down by one of his previous employer's death squads in his own house. When he next opened his eyes he was greeted by a giant figure and was surrounded by a lot of people like him; confused people.
The figure introduced itself as a representative of the Gods and honestly, most people believed it. With the number of stories of this manner on the internet, most people were open to this kind of announcement as long as it seemed probable.
And there was no more proof needed than being killed and waking up in front of a 4m tall pure white figure, and before you knew it you'd believe in Gods as well. It wasn't that much of a stretch when you experienced it first-hand.
He and the 99 other people in front of that Gods Representative were informed that he would gain 3 powers/abilities and have to play a part in the Gods Game for their entertainment.
At first, the teen wasn't too happy but as soon as he thought about getting powers and being able to sate his appetite for violence, he didn't care about it anymore. What would he do if he didn't take the chance? Die and give up his second shot at life?
After having the bestowal of powers explained, which were pretty much randomly picked and distributed, everyone was sent to a room and told to wait until their powers were given to them.
They were told that once their powers were bestowed to them, they would be instantly transported to their new world which would serve as a battleground for their fights. Their future fights were part of the 'game', you had to fight when the Gods organized a match for you but you could still kill another player outside of an organized fight if you really wished to.
Back to Jason sitting in his room, he had closed his eyes and lay back on the bed a while ago, feeling pretty tired after experiencing his death and then meeting a representative of God all in one(?) day.
But his eyes sprang open as he felt a flash in front of his face. Opening his eyes, he let out an excited sound as he shot up to read the screen's information.

Before Jason could say anything, his vision went black.
By the time Jason opened his eyes again, he felt his body morphing. Twisting and turning into something new, something better. Jason tossed and turned as he felt his body changing but didn't cry out despite the pain.
The pain mainly came from what he suspected were his Bases awakening.
He knew the show they came from; Terraformars. A pretty serious anime filled with gore and death where Cockroaches, sent to Mars in order to Terraform the planet for Human use, evolved into humanoid creatures of inhuman strength and speed and just like how most humans held inherent disgust for cockroaches, these Roaches held the same inherent hatred for all Humans.
A few missions went to Mars with the first one being BUGS I, who didn't know about the Roaches who were called Terraformars. They were all killed because they were normal humans against 2m tall, roach men who could rip humans in half with their bare hands.
The way Human's countered this was by splicing Human DNA and Insect DNA, this resulted in Bases and men and women who could hold the abilities of Insects but scaled up to Human Size.
Jason always liked the manga/anime and found the abilities fascinating. A human with the strength of a common ant would be able to lift 50 times his own weight. A Human-sized ant couldn't do this because it'd collapse under its own weight and it wouldn't be able to get enough oxygen to its lungs but we're talking about a human here, not an Ant. Plus it's a manga. Jason had just found out Gods exist, so why couldn't this little bit of weird 'science' just work for now?
Currently, Jason discovered that having this permanent transformation wasn't going to be easy. In either the short term or the long term.
The short-term because; Goddamn, the pain hurt as the transformation was much more in-depth compared to the Operation in the Show, down to his very genetics, changing them and introducing his Human DNA's new playmates.
( Author Note: Long Term problems will be discussed next chapter~ )
Jason felt his muscles change. Weirdly he could feel the different muscle types being introduced to his body. He felt the weaker muscles which were his original human ones, these muscles only had one thing going for them; Endurance. Then he felt a type of muscle which were incredibly dense and seemed to hold herculean strength.
After they set in, he felt another type spring up. This type seemed focused on extreme speed and explosive power.
All these three muscles started to tangle together which was an excruciating experience for Jason but he could still feel each individual type. Slowly, however, they started to merge their best traits together. Endurance from his Human Muscles, the massive strength from the dense muscles and then the extreme potential for speed and explosive power from the last type.
In the end, Jason was left with a muscular system of what could be seen as perfection from an evolution standpoint.
Jason would also see it that way if it weren't for the rest of the changes happening.
His bones and skin seemed to be getting reinforced and compacted, increasing their density and therefore the durability of both of them. Then his Organs were reinforced - which felt like a rabbit had been let loose in his body.
After this long and painful process, Jason could finally open his eyes.
He was momentarily shocked by the clearness of his vision and his other sense that weren't clouded by pain anymore. He was only momentarily shocked because he saw a screen in front of him and dropped his shock for excitement as he wanted to know what Bases he got.
Congratulations, you survived the Chimera M.O. Operation Physiology awakening!
You awakened the Arthropod Base Heteropoda venatoria, otherwise known as the Huntsman Spider (i)
You awakened the Insect Base Paraponera clavata, otherwise known as the Bullet Ant (i)
You awakened the Insect Base Pachyrhynchus Infernalis, Part of the Weevil Family (i)
Accelerated System Development Trait has been added successfully! (i)
Aerokinesis Ability Added to Player (i)
Looking at his bases, Jason could help but shake in excitement. He went to click on the (i) for each of the bases and additional abilities he'd gained but a screen popped up in front of him before he got the chance.
Each of your powers has been given to you now, train with them, fight with them, entertain with them. Your powers can go past the limits they have in the shows, you just need to put in the effort and you'll break through the limits. It would be wise to know that you don't have your powers at full capacity either, you have about half of the power that they had in their first seen appearance whether it be in Anime or in a TV show and some of you may even have less depending on your powers' peak level.
In 3 months, dungeons will be opened for you Players to train in. For now, train the forests we've given to you. Each of you has a personal forest fit with enemies meant to push you to your limits. Good Luck, Players.
Signed, Job, representative of the Gods.
Jason's earlier excitement about his powers waned a bit when he realized he didn't have his full, 100% capacity but he soon shrugged it off when he remembered he loved to train anyway.
Standing up, Jason did a few stretches with his new body, feeling the power coursing through it, seemingly unending. His flexibility was much higher than what he remembered and thanked the Gods that they'd given him powers.
Jason then turned to the (i)'s next to his powers.
