Chapter 6: Controlling the Limit

Chapter 6: Controlling the Limit

Iris was on her hands and knees, in shock that she had taken the life of this girl’s mother in a misunderstanding. “No, no, no… that can’t be it, I would never…” as much as she tried to deny it, she couldn’t find a leg to stand on, even if the way she killed her was an accident she did come at her with the intent to hit her, and knowing what her fists are capable of…

She glanced over to the broken and shattered tree and shivered. She needed a way to hold back, she couldn’t just keep fumbling about and causing wanton destruction, her whole goal out here was to gather followers to worship her, she couldn’t do that if she kept accidentally killing people and causing those who survive to fear her…

“Unless…”

She shook her head “No, no, I couldn’t possibly.” After all, she already felt horrible for this one incident, she could not see herself forcing worship through fear. She wanted to be a proper goddess, getting worship because she deserved it and to do that she needed to stop accidentally killing people.

“But how…”

She looked at her status…

“Huh, no health loss?” She did slam face first into a cliff face, was that not enough to injure her or did she already heal it? Regardless, this highlighted the problem, she was too strong. She was starting to regret maxing out all her stats for more reasons other than the loss of CP, but… considering how she got flung from white space and crashed into multiple planets on the way here…

“Speaking of which.” She looked up, looking for the broken remains of a large planet but saw nothing but the sun in the middle of the sky “Huh… anyways, I need a way to control my power, especially if I want to do anything with this girl.” She glanced over to the collapsed young arachne, still soundly passed out. She had considered shaking her awake, but the all to real possibility of her head going flying stopped her.

“Now that I think about it… it is impressive that Leviathan is still alive… it was huge…Ah!” She shook her head rapidly “Enough distractions! I just want to hold back so I won’t kill anyone!” She shouted in frustration, clutching her head. Why wasn’t there an easy solution to this?! She’s the creation goddess, right? Why cant she just force herself to hold back!?

“Eh? I can do that?” She let go of her head, looking up in stark surprise “Of course! I AM the Creation Goddess after all! I can just create stuff, right?” She laughed to herself “Alright, what is this skill…”

[Skill: Absolute Limiter: The ability to perfectly and absolutely limit the user’s abilities. Usually obtained by monks who have undergone decades of training to perfectly fine tune the control over their own bodies.]

“Perfect!” And she had more than enough CP to do it.

“There.” She nodded to herself, taking a quick look at her accomplishment.

She smiled, a fuzzy feeling rising from her gut “The first thing I created…” The smile grew into a wide grin. She trotted over to a nearby tree, already giggling like an insane person because she did not get there immediately “Alright Mr. Tree, it is your lucky day!” She slapped her hand on it, not leaving so much as a scratch.

“Heheheehehehueee~” she then gripped it as hard as she could, finding that the tree did not yield to her strength, finally she attempted to lift the tree, but it didn’t budge.

“Yes! Perfect!” She gave the tree a hug “With this no more slamming into cliff sides, destroying innocent creatures, or going so fast I cannot even keep up with myself!” A single tear fell from her eye, the vision of a tiny saluting crab who had finally gotten its justice filling her mind for a brief moment “I did it…Mr. Crab…I did it…”

“Well then.” She let go of the tree, trotting over to the remains of the larger arachne, the remaining half of the abdomen and giving it a little poke “Since I am a creation goddess, and since I can create life and skills, maybe I can fix this little mistake and bring her back to life?” Her eyes shifted over to the unconscious girl, it wasn’t clear what was going on between them, but it shouldn’t warrant losing her mother over it, right?

“Now, with the power of me, Iris, the creation goddess, who is awesome now that she, I, can control my amazing power I resurrect your mother!”

“Fucking expensive!” She shouted into the sky, the sound of fleeing birds soon heard shortly after “Creating life was only, what, ten thousand? Why is it over a million?!” She could create so much life with that amount of CP, not like she had that to begin with, but still “Aaaaah…why…” She fell back onto her bare butt, defeated.

She only had little over one thousand left, she was getting more from…somewhere… but it with how costly that was it really showed how abysmal the amount she had was, all she could do was laugh pitifully, thinking back to just a short while ago when she got so full of herself just because she managed to create one simple skill.

Even the birds now seemed to mock her, now settled down and singing a mocking tune in this lush…forest… “Birds?” She sat up, there was previously nothing in this forest except these two Arachne and herself, but no, now she was hearing birds.

She rapidly looked around, hearing the rustling in a bush a few meters away, catching a glimpse of something furry rapidly climbing a tree, and something else ducking behind cover “What in the, this place was empty?!” Indeed, it was, but now it was flourishing with life, but why now? What had changed…

She wacked her brain over it, but couldn’t come to a conclusion “still…it is beautiful…” She stood there, lost in the subtle sounds of the forest. She didn’t know how all this appeared overnight in the endless ocean, but she was glad it did. Creation points and gathering worship aside this little moment was thousands of times better than the loneliness she had experienced in the white space. “Calming…” She warmly smiled to herself.

“A naked women!!!”

An unfamiliar voice screamed, interrupting her from her serenity. Turning towards the source she saw the young Arachne had woken up and was pointing towards her while covering her eyes the best she could with one hand. ‘Naked?’ she thought to herself, quickly glancing around the clearing to see who this girl was talking about, before freezing in place.

Slowly, ever so slowly, she looked down at her bare form, naked as the day she was born.

“Ah.”
