"We are finally home...if we can call this cave a home" Niraya sighed as she whispered to herself, her pack and she finally arrived at their nest after taking a long time avoiding and sometimes fighting off the other predators that wanted to take away their prey.

The ghouls from her pack were cheerful as they dragged the dead wolves to their side of the lair they wanted to eat their hard-earned meal quickly but they would never dare do that because they knew their instincts screamed that they shouldn't touch anything before their alpha does.

Niraya was pleased with this development as it meant that she could control them rather easily as she is the strongest, for the time being, she also knew that sometimes the alpha's would be challenged for the right to lead she just prayed that it doesn't happen soon.

While Niraya was deep in her thoughts the little crazy female ghoul that has taken an extreme liking to Niraya after she saved it happily clung to her back like a little child while she waged her little tail around. But that happiness was crashed by a not so unexpected guest who snapped back Niraya out of her thoughts.

"Grrr!" the little ghoul on Niraya's back growled at the intruder, Niraya calmly patted her head which in return greatly calmed her down so much that she licked her arm like a dog which made Niraya think that she isn't a ghoul at all but a rare or rather mutated breed of a dog.

"Good you hunt, you bring food, now give all!" the intruder non-other than the nest alpha and a couple of more larger than the average ghouls, most likely his guards.

The nest alpha was grinning ear to ear as he reached for the closest dire wolf body he saw, he loved taking the food that the young ghouls bring back as he made them fear him, it was easier to control them when they feard him simple enough that even he understood that.

"Not yours!" Niraya hit his hand that was about to grab the body of the dire wolf, she has gotten good at using her tail to attack with.

"U..!!! Dare hit!!" the nest alpha was enraged as he still couldn't process how a female ghoul had the courage to defy him and even hit him, his guard ghouls were also enraged as the readied to pounce at the youngling pack lead by Niraya.

The ghouls behind Niraya were scared but at the same time, they were angry at the nest alpha so they also let out their shouts in order to intimidate the older ghouls.

Niraya smirked at this as she knew that the nest alpha must be very confused because of this development, and indeed he was he knew that he was stronger than any of the young ghouls as were his guards but he only brought a couple of them which he regretted now, with this many ghouls even if they were still young he would suffer an injury for sure he couldn't afford that as the older ghouls are just waiting for the moment to challenge him for the right to be the nest alpha.

As the stalemate continued the nest alpha looked at Niraya he knew she was the leader of the young ghouls this time, he made a vicious smile and pointed at Niraya and spoke in his ghoulish sound "You I challenge fight for the food!" he challenged her for their food, he was going to take it anyway but if he managed to kill Niraya he would gain her youngling pack which would greatly reinforce his personal pack.

He was the nest alpha but there are many ghouls that oppose him as they all form their little packs within the nest, so if the pack alpha of the younlings wont listen to him why should she keep him simple he will just kill him and assimilate the pack to his own.

"Very well we will fight!" Niraya was little uneasy about the fight because she knew that the nest alpha was a dangerous foe to defeat but this was also a chance to remove him and take over his position as the nest alpha which would greatly be in her favor as she is a female ghoul.

"Good we fight soon!" the nest alpha spoke as he turned around and led his group away from their little nest the little ghoul hissed at him as he left.

"Sigh" "damn muscleheads they only know how to fight, if he just asked nicely I would have shared with him....or not" Niraya corrected herself as she did feel the hate when the nest alpha tried to take their hard earned prey that why she lashed out without thinking it was pure instinct of a ghoul.

Niraya walked out of their side of the nest and towards the center of the nest where the fight with alpha was going to take place, she brought half of her pack with her just in case and the rest were left to guard their food against the other hungry wandering ghouls.

"You come! Now we fight!" the nest alpha had a vicious smile on his face as he yelled out toward Niraya. She dismissed her escort including the little ghoul that refused to let go but eventually she was removed forcefully by Niraya.

The ghouls from other packs all gathered together as they wanted to witness the death of another fool that tried to seize the nest for themselves or perhaps the birth of a new nest alpha.

"Now I kill and eat you!" the nest alpha roared as he charged at Niraya who swiftly jumped to the side and avoided the sharp claws of the alpha, but she didn't just dodge she also counterattacked with her tail she hit the head of the alpha with her full strength.

"Damn still so little damage" she cursed as the alpha was only dazed for a short time from her counter-attack if anything he was just enraged even more. He charged again with his claws and again Niraya dodged and attacked with her tail but this time the alpha anticipated that and actually managed to catch her tail.

"Dam...!" before she could say anything the alpha savagely bashed her against the dirt-covered rocks he swung her around like a child playing with a new toy.

After swinging her around for some time he sent her flying into the wall of the cave "oouf!" Niraya let out a pained voice as she slumped against the wall of the cave.

"Hahaha now see I stronger you weak, I eat weak!" the nest alpha was laughing joyously as he enjoyed his strength. He was little worried because he was slower than Niraya but he knew that the inexperienced her would try the same attack again.

He licked his lips as he slowly approached Niraya who desperately holding back the pain that assaulted she knew that the nest alpha was strong but she thought that she at least had a chance against him.

The pain assaulted her more and more with each passing second, flashbacks of the day she died as a human came back like a storm inside her head the pain kept growing stronger and stronger she heard her human side scream for it to stop, but it didn't it only kept growing.

"Snap!" something snapped inside Niraya she could feel her body changing her body felt like it was being stabbed by countless blades all over she started to scream which made the nest alpha stop and cautiously eye her as she wouldn't stop screaming.

But something else started happening her body started to twist and turn she grew in size her claws got longer and sharper the top of her head was slowly filled with black long hair like the darkness itself the tail that looked like an oily snake now grew spikes all over.

She screamed and rolled around for a few more moments before it all stopped the pain and the screaming, she stood up she huffed heavily but she felt strange she felt stronger she raised her hands and looked at them they were more humanlike but still same old ghoulish color and skin but with longer and sharper claws, she looked at the nearby puddle of water she now had hair her face didn't look so ghoulish anymore but the razor-sharp teeth were still present alongside two stripe markings near her eyes and lastly her tail which she could now control even better than before.

Niraya turned around and looked at the nest alpha with her yellow eyes and slowly approached him. The alpha was scared he knew that Niraya changed he could feel it his instincts scream for him to run away and not turn around which he did.

But as soon as he turned around he was left speechless Niraya was already behind him he couldn't understand how but before he could even start thinking again he felt a sharp pain near his right arm when he moved his gaze towards the source of the pain he saw something missing and that something was his arm.

He fell down on his knees and screamed in pain as he looked towards Niraya in absolute terror, he saw her holding his arm and like a little child playing with it tossing it from one side to another."So weak, why are you so weak now? What happened to me?" Niraya didn't question the alpha she just spoke to herself.

"Oh never mind, well now as I have defeated the nest alpha I guess I am the new alpha?"Niraya yelled as she looked around the terrified ghouls they could all feel the power she possessed no one dared oppose her.

"Good now the first order as the new alpha is.....eat the old alpha!" she yelled out as she smiled before her change she would never give out an order like that if she won she would have exiled him most likely but now the part that stopped her was gone she knew she felt nothing for the nest alpha.

The ghouls were confused at first because originally the victor would eat the losing ghoul to stop him from challenging the ruler again but now they were allowed to eat the loser?

"I said eat!!" she didn't wear her smile anymore but yelled out angrily just as she did the ghouls like possessed jump at the old alpha and torn him limb from limb as they ate him up.

"Good now I am truly the alpha" she whispered to herself as she sat down on a nearby rock and enjoyed the feast.
