Rose had left her new wards and pets back in her apartment, afraid that in a panic one of her fellow teammates would end up harming them. But if her summoned companion could be seen as a ‘friendly’ that would probably be okay, right? Rose selected [YES] and a list appeared.
Choose from available options to assign companion:
* Zen - Feline – [AMERICAN SHORTHAIR] – [LEVEL 1]
* Oras - Demon/Greenskin – [IMP GOBLIN] – [LEVEL 3]
* Toby - Canine – [BLOODFANG WOLFHOUND] – [LEVEL 2]
* Urgle - Greenskin – [GOBLIN] – [LEVEL 0]
Um… since when had Zen gained a level. Had he killed something while she was gone? That was worrying. Thinking it over Rose made the obvious choice. Zen wasn’t exactly an attack cat, even with the confusing level. Oras and Urgle would disturb the others and keep them from focusing on the real enemies. Toby though, everybody loved dogs, right? And he was one big wolf that could definitely take care of himself. Decision made she selected Toby.
Summon Toby - Canine – [BLOODFANG WOLFHOUND] – [LEVEL 2]?
Dismissing the question from her vision Rose made the smart decision to inform her raid group that they would be getting an extra member.
Heading back towards where the crowd had been she noticed that most people had gone back to their own rooms to calm down and rest. There were only thirty or so remaining people that had stayed to talk things over and discuss their next move. Apparently, quite a lot had happened while she had been resting. It had been decided that the people from the hotel would form one raid team to join them and two teams to guard the hotel. Someone had been sent to gather everyone in the lobby once it had been cleaned up and more raid groups would probably form after they left. Martin had already discussed all this with Larry over the telepathic link and it turned out Larry had had a similar situation to theirs. Three raid groups would be joining his after defeating two [MURDERER]’s. Larry’s group had gone for a much larger ten story apartment building and had ended up losing one of their members in the fight. Two had been injured and were heading back to home base with their respective parties. Larry had to replace his losses by having others from the building he had rescued join his raid group, meaning he could stay a raid team leader.
Tyler had volunteered to coordinate with both the raid group leaders as he was now the raid team leader of the group that would be accompanying them. This filled out the final clan member spot meaning that the groups staying to guard the hotel and the three extra raid teams with Larry would have to form their own clans to communicate. While Rose watched, Jason spoke up suggesting there might be a group above even clans that might help link them all together. After some more conversation, the leaders succeeded in linking everyone. During this time more groups had formed. Between Peacehome apartments four raid teams, the three fighter and two guard raid groups from the building Larry saved called Crescent View Apartments, and the now one fighter and three guard raid teams from the hotel which was called Blue Sky, each building formed their own clan. Then the three clan leaders, Larry, Tyler and some woman named Janelle formed what was apparently called a ‘tribe’. This now meant that if anything happened all members could send their troubles up the line if they needed help.

Afterwards, another hour passed where all the leaders of the fighting raid groups discussed the routes they would take to help out others. Finally, they all dispersed for last minutes preparations. “Martin, a word” she called as he passed by her.
“Rose, what can I help you with?”
“My reward for helping to clear this safe zone was the ability to summon a companion. I’ve chosen to assign the ability to a wolf I tamed while clearing Peacehome. I’d like to make sure everyone’s aware before I summon him.”
Martin nodded in understanding, then his face once again entered distant stare mode while communicating to all the party leaders and of course the other raid team leaders that would be joining them. A moment later, his gaze returned to hers, “All set, you summon him and then we’ll head out.”
Sounding an acknowledgement Rose focused to do just that.
Summon Toby - Canine – [BLOODFANG WOLFHOUND] – [LEVEL 2]?
[Y/N]
Selecting [YES] there was a green flash and then the nearly five foot tall canine was before her. Everyone, even Martin, stared in surprise and fear. Thinking back, she probably should have mentioned her companion wasn’t just some regular old wolf. All well. What’s done was done. Shaking off their shock, the rest of the members resumed the last of their preparations and then began their trek down the stairwell. For some reason everyone insisted that Rose and Toby should take the lead. Weird. So Weird.
The sun was falling towards the horizon as they all exited the hotel. They would all head back home in an hour or so but for now they would continue on. Despite a number of tall buildings and a few shopping centres in the area, there was mostly just house blocks in their suburb. Spreading out the parties began to search the houses one by one. It turns out that whether or not it was occupied, every residence had a single challenger inside. Goblins, Imps and slimes were common. There were also a few wolves and hobgoblins sprinkled throughout the house blocks. That was why everyone had been so shocked to see how big Toby was. His kind were considered a slightly tougher challenger and were therefore uncommon. Toby had been the only wolf before searching all the houses and Rose had kept him hidden away in her apartment.
Each house her party came across had been an easy victory. Mostly due to Toby. Around ninety percent of the foes they came across instantly surrendered in fear. The really good boy would just give a little growl and the opponent crouched to their knees in fear, hands covering their heads. The only exceptions were the slimes but that was because they were simple creatures that didn’t understand the situation.
The return trip was a sight to see. As the setting sun painted the sky in oranges, pinks and purples, Peacehome’s second scouting team was trailed by two wolves, three imps, five goblins, two imp goblins and two hobgoblins. All had their heads down in defeat as they followed their new alpha. A determined, blood splattered mother with two kids, an enthusiastic older teen who had gone on the killing spree of a lifetime, four elderly who had barely survived their own fights, and eleven middle aged people also trailed behind. They had all been home when the nexus hit. Now they would join the Stafford Tribe. What’s a tribe you ask? Well according to the conversation she’d had with Martin as they travelled, a tribe is made of up to five clans. Why Stafford? Because that was the name of their suburb. The surrounding suburbs in the region were of course Gordon Park, Lutwyche, Kalinga and Kedron as they were all in the city of Brisbane.
