Chapter 44 - Play Time

As I arrived on the moon, I saw Peaches and Fox jumping around and playing. They were shooting multicolored beams of raw power at each other. Each time one of them dodged, the beam would obliterate something in its path. The entire facility that Peaches and I had created looked like it had been under heavy bombardment.

“Peaches!” I yelled, my voice echoing across the desolate landscape. “You guys need to be more careful!”

Peaches stopped just as a beam from Fox hit her in the face. She didn’t even flinch. These beams were disintegrating entire mountain ranges, but getting hit in the face didn’t even leave a scratch on her.

As they both looked over at me, Fox got scared and jumped behind Peaches. “Don’t worry, Fox, I’m not mad. The system is about to be activated, and when we release the shield, the entire moon will become like Earth. We just all need to be careful about how our powers damage things.”

Fox poked his head out and finally started talking to me. “So we are okay to play?” he asked cautiously.

“How about this… Peaches, you fix everything you guys just destroyed, and then I’ll teleport you both to a world where you can be as crazy as you want. When you’re done, just teleport back. But no more using your powers like this anywhere besides that planet.”

They both became extremely excited. “Okay, Daddy,” Peaches said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She closed her eyes, and over the next 20 seconds, I watched as the mountain ranges were restored, the streams and spots for the river were repaired, the housing structures were rebuilt, and her statue was brought back to its former glory. I still laughed every time I saw the bird hanging out of her mouth.

I glanced at Fox and then at the statue. “Peaches, you’re gonna have to change the statue so your fox friend has the right amount of tails.”

Her eyes went wide as she realized she hadn’t updated it yet. “Good idea, Daddy!” she said as she teleported both her and the fox over to the statue. Peaches made the fox disappear from the statue. “Hop up there,” she told Fox. He shrunk down so he would be the perfect size and hopped up on the statue. He assumed the same pose as the original fox. Peaches stared at him for a second and told him to hop down. As he leaped out of the way, a faint image stayed in its place. Peaches then blinked, and his form was now attached to the statue in stone. He was riding on her back with his sword just like the sculpture was before, except this time it was an exact replica of Baron Foxy McFox Face’s form.

As I stood there staring at the statue, a thought came to my mind. I have the most powerful family in the world, no, in the universe, and I’m standing on the moon with my dog watching her create a statue of a fox holding a sword on her back. My life is awesome!

As Peaches finished with the statue, she turned around and ran up to me.

“Daddy, can I create the puppy world now? I really want to just play with some puppies. I’ll train them to hate birds just like I do. We can have a whole army of puppies ready to fight any bird who thinks they can steal a fox again. Please, Daddy, can I please?”

I just stared at her. I couldn’t think of a single thing to say. What are you supposed to say to an extremely powerful divine-tier dog who wants to create a puppy world? This is when Sim butted in.

“Peaches, we need to wait because of all the changes that are happening. How about you ask again after we finish everything we’re working on and the moon starts producing enough mana to handle something that big? Maybe we can get your daddy to help build it.”

I snapped my fingers and Sim’s avatar appeared in front of me. I gave her the most evil look I could. I sent her a mental message, thinking Peaches couldn’t hear what we said.

“Sim, what are we going to do with a planet full of puppies? How do we feed them? What are they supposed to do?”

Peaches started bouncing up and down after I asked Sim what they’re supposed to do all the time. “Daddy, I’ll live with them and train them and we’ll play all the time. Don’t worry about food, I’ll just make it using the micros.”

“Peaches, can you listen in on our conversations when I talk to Sim in my head?”

Peaches put her head down, thinking she did something wrong and was going to be in trouble. “Yes, Daddy.”

“How long have you been able to do that?” I asked, trying to stay calm.

“I don’t know, like a thousand years,” she replied.

I totally forgot that she has no idea how to determine timeframes yet. “Can you please try not to listen? Sometimes I may want to surprise you and maybe get you a present, and it’ll ruin the surprise if you listen in all the time.”

Peaches' eyes lit up when I mentioned a present. “Ohhh, a present. Okay, Daddy, I’ll stop,” she said as she started playing with Fox again.

“Good save,” Sim said, laughing at me.
