Chapter 21 -Unveiling Potential

After the message was delivered, Sim created an obelisk in each city around the world. “Mike, I have completed the construction, and the requests for full stats began almost immediately. I believe this will greatly help with the understanding of someone’s true capabilities.”

“Good. I’m really hoping things start to get better before the shield fails. There are too many people who have no idea what to do with themselves. I’m hoping by allowing them to see…” Sim cut me off.

“Mike, a new bloodline has just been activated. Information has been unlocked, and I now have details of this particular bloodline. This is the Green/Earth/Foundation bloodline. It appears that by learning her true strengths and abilities from the obelisk, a young girl named Gabriella mentally reached within and created her core. She grew a forest of redwood trees just outside her village the instant before she fell unconscious. I once again need to introduce origin mana, or her pathways will not accept it at a later point. She is currently lying unconscious in front of the obelisk in Pérouges, France."

“Is she going to be unconscious forever too? Because Cookie and Alec still haven’t woken up, and I’m getting worried.”

“I assure you that they will awaken very soon, and Gabriella will experience the same thing. Would you like me to complete the process?”

“Yes, but you can’t just leave her there. Does she have anyone with her?”

“Her family is in the village, but no one is with her at this moment.”

“Okay, do your thing, but teleport her back into her bed. Project a message to her family that she is undergoing a bloodline activation and the admin will come speak to them soon. Explain that she will be unconscious during the process and it could take a month or so.”

“Done,” Sim said. “I will inform her family of her status when they awaken. It is currently 1:34 a.m. in their town, and I do not think waking her family just for them to worry at this time would have any positive effect.”

“Okay, that’s fine,” I said. “I need to create a different look for the admin role so no one knows who I am when I have to do stuff like this. I’ll just alter my appearance so I look like I’m in my 80s. It’ll be fine. Did you give everyone mana channels that are possible champions?”

“Yes. Would you like a list of the skills I granted?”

“Oh, sure. I totally forgot you were doing that. Just tell me the names of the most powerful or unique ones. I don’t want a full detailed list for each one. If I’m curious, I’ll ask for more, but give me the names and ranking.”

“Of course,” she replied. “The ones I think you will find most interesting are:

* Luck manipulation - Rare

* Molecular compounding - Epic

* Water purification - Rare

* Air pressure alteration - Advanced

* Twinkle fingers - Master

* Hive mind - Epic

* Empathetic gaze - Advanced

* Foresight - Rare

* Density manipulation - Epic

And the rarest power, only granted due to his 10 in the morality stat: Power enhancement. It is a legendary-ranked skill that can permanently increase the rarity of one skill per person. I did limit this to not allow for legendary skills to be increased to divine without admin's approval. Once leveled, he can also increase a skill's level by 10. It is limited by the target's understanding of the skill, so they may still have to meditate to get the full effect. He has chosen to become a support class when the system initiates, and should you wish to grant him the master tier advancement, he may well become one of the most powerful non-combat classes on the planet.”

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

“Hmmm, I like it. I think we will need more support classes that are... Wait a minute.” I burst out laughing. “What is twinkle fingers?”

Sim’s response was immediate: “Here is a full description:

Skill: Twinkle fingers

Rank: Master

Current level: 1

Damage: 50/second

Mana usage: 100/second

Range: 10 meters

Description: Twinkle fingers is the basic form of the master tier Heavens Bolt. It is a lightning-based attack that not only inflicts continuous damage but stuns for 0.5 seconds per 200 damage inflicted.

“Okay, so it’s a lightning skill,” I managed to spit out between laughs. “Why did you name it 'twinkle fingers'?”

“I pulled the name from your memory. At its lower levels, it resembled a superhero movie you watched years ago.”

“Haha, Thor. That’s right. Awesome job with the naming. I wonder if anyone he tells the name to will get the reference or just laugh at him? I love that you’re getting some of my mannerisms.”

“What did you end up doing with Lucas’s skill?”

“He was quite upset about the fact that he could have had his mind taken over so easily by the croc. So I gave him a mental defense skill. With his perception so high, I granted him the legendary version. It is called ‘Legendary mind.’ He has already learned to increase the skill level by meditating and is at level 8. Would you like to see the skill details?”

“No, it’s fine. I’m sure it’s just a good blocking skill. Maybe grant him a few mental powers as he goes. Telekinesis and stuff like that. I want to pop in and see him after he levels it up. Maybe I’ll understand more than half of what he says next time.”

“Is your translation ability not working?” Sim said. “He is still speaking English.”

“No, it’s working fine, at least I think it is. I’m just still trying to understand the slang. There was a guy I used to watch videos of that made me laugh quite a bit. ‘Ozzy Man Reviews.’ So I can understand better than I thought, but it takes me a sec. How’s he adapting to the extra points I added to his stats?”

“He is adapting very efficiently. His physical abilities were extremely easy for him to master. His history allowed him to adapt within a few attempts.”

“So he didn’t do the helicopter like Chris did?” I said as I chuckled.

“No, he did not,” Sim replied.

“Okay, let’s give all of the current hero candidates an increase in all stats by 10. Monitor them and see how they handle it. I’m gonna let them play with the new abilities for about a week, and then we'll get everyone together and see who we want to offer the spots to.”

“Done,” Sim said.

“Send a message to each of the candidates explaining what we just did and that they have been granted these abilities due to their potential. Have you gotten enough information to impart bloodlines for people yet?” I asked.

“To an extent, yes. Before the system integration, there are very few people capable of carrying certain bloodline types. There are genetic factors that I can alter during species and race choice to facilitate new bloodlines, but before then, there are not many capable of the three currently unlocked to me. As soon as Jeff manages to unlock his, I will be able to access the data on his as well.”

“How is he doing, by the way? He still hasn’t contacted me.”

“He has been busy dealing with Juan and the congratulatory awards for saving so many people. I did just bump up all of his stats as well, so he is starting to question things that have happened. I think he suspects you may have been involved in the hummer being gifted. He just now asked the onboard A.I. for the vehicle owner history, and when it got to your name, he stopped. I believe he may attempt to contact you very shortly.”

“Oh no, I forgot he was technically part of the candidate list. So when I told you to bump all of them...”

I closed my eyes and knew he was going to be upset. “Crap.”
