For the next 48 hours, I became a cosmic tourist, teleporting from one celestial marvel to the next. My divine sight, with its time dilation, was incredible. I traversed galaxies, witnessing planets form in an accelerated symphony of explosions, a testament to the universe's ongoing creation.
But the true magic lay in manipulating time itself. Fast-forwarding unveiled a glimpse of one possible future, a glimpse that filled me with awe. Rewinding, I could witness the painstaking birth of a planetary system, each moment granting me a deeper understanding of the potential now at my fingertips. With enough mana, I could sculpt entire solar systems, the architect of my own cosmic canvas.
I decided to wait until I dealt with the issues facing mankind before I developed a new solar system and tried to seed it with new life. I didn’t have enough mana available for something on that scale yet anyway.
I teleported myself back to my living room and realized what I had done.
“Sim, why did you let me leave for so long? Jeff is gonna be pissed. Where’s he at right now?”
Sim showed me an image of Jeff with the biggest smile I had ever seen. My face scrunched up in confusion until I heard a voice and Sim kind of zoomed out but also made it look like I was there so I could see a wider angle. It was really weird.
“See, I told you I’m awesome now. Daddy doesn’t go with me to look for that stupid bird very much, but I knew you would. You’re my best brother ever. Wanna do a loopy again? Loopies are so fun!”
Before Jeff could respond, I watched in amazement as Peaches was doing barrel roll after barrel roll. Right before the fourth roll, she stopped in mid-air and just hovered.
“Hi, Daddy,” she said out loud. “I can’t see you, but I know you’re watching now. Jeff let me do some loopies with him on my back. I missed him. He’s my best brother. Where did you go? Where are you? Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving? You just weren’t here anymore. I flew all over and you left everywhere. I don’t like when you leave from everywhere. You were supposed to tell me before you go. Oh, oh, I almost got the dumb bird, but then he was gone. I hate that bird. Jeff is helping me look for it. We’re gonna eat it.”
Before she finished her tirade, I teleported in front of her. While staring at both her and Jeff, I asked, “How did you know I started watching you?”
“I don’t know. I could just tell you were here. At first, I thought it was the bird, but then I could tell it was you. It’s okay. You can watch me. I’m doing cool loopies. Wanna see?”
“Hold on, Peaches. I really want to know how you knew I was watching. I wasn’t really here; Sim was just showing me what you were doing. Was it a feeling or could you actually see something?”
“Both. I felt like someone was watching and I could just tell it was you. You have a cool feeling when I focus on you. It’s almost tingly. And then I could see little wavies in the air.”
“Hey Sim, can you explain any of this?”
“I believe your connection has allowed Peaches to sense your mana signature. It may be your aura but the scenario in which she just noticed you watching would not have created a detectable aura.
“Peaches, I’m gonna scan you again and see if I can tell what let you detect me.”
“Okay, but can I do loopies before Jeff throws up? Again?”
“Hold on, I’ll be quick”
As I activated the analysis skill my mouth dropped. “How is it possible for her to advance so quickly?”

After reading through the list, I got a little irritated. Not only were the numbers way out of whack, but it looked like Peaches had been adding her free points to some of them.
“Hey Sim, this is a problem. Why the hell are there so many stats that are basically the same thing just worded a little differently? She also has numbers that are so high compared to others. Have you been letting her just add her stats to anything without guiding her?"
“I have been allowing her to allocate her own stats as she sees fit. When we discussed that part of the system, you made it clear that I should allow the energy from increasing their mana channels to be put into certain aspects and the additional mana can be allocated to a stat of their choosing."
“How is everything advancing so fast except her maturity level?”
“The maturity level is based on her age as well as her experiences. That is not a stat that is adjustable. It will change as she does.”
Sim's response was very quick and precise. “To answer your first question, when designing the stat system, I had every single book and game ever created to sort through. So I broke everything down into the actual definition and configured the stats based on each individual characteristic.”
“Okay, we need to adjust this process. We need to break it down to base stats that are adjustable. The rest will automatically change depending on their growth and mentality. We can’t let them use points on stuff like willpower. That should just increase based on who they are.”
This is the point where Jeff decided to help me out a little bit. He could tell I was getting frustrated with the whole situation. “Dad.”
I looked up and immediately calmed down when I saw his face. It was like just having him there helped me realize I was getting frustrated and that in order to solve the problem, I just needed to go slower and use logic.
“Calm down. Just decide which stats you want to be adjustable and Sim will change it. Right, Sim?”
“That is correct, Jeff. As soon as I am given direction on the appropriate stats to allow for free point allocation, I will get it done immediately.”
I had a weird calm feeling attempting to wash over me. I wouldn’t have noticed anything except my new body and mind were able to detect even the smallest levels of influence. I activated my divine sight. Jeff had a weird bluish glow in his aura, and I had a feeling I knew exactly what was happening.
In his center where his channels met, I could see the mana start to harden and form a Dyson sphere around a glowing blue ball of mana.
“Sim, his core is forming, can you help so he doesn’t pass out?”
“Dad, I can feel the power coalescing in my core. I’m slowing it down so it doesn’t require my body to reforge while I’m unconscious. Can you teleport me home?”
I teleported us all back into the guest room of my house. As soon as we arrived, Peaches shrunk herself down to puppy size. I’m glad she had picked up this habit so I didn’t have to worry about everything being broken when she was indoors. Jeff laid down very slowly in the bed.
“What do you need me to do?” I asked.
Jeff’s reply was very calm, and he spoke extremely slowly. “Sim, can you help guide both types of mana so they synchronize while flowing through my core? I can guide the new type to stay, but I need you to guide the other one. Once we have them flowing properly, we need to slowly guide them through each channel.”
“Jeff, I do need to remind you that you have over 4,000 different channels, so this process is going to take a while. Are you able to withstand the process while awake?”
“If I guide each of them myself, I will not have to learn to utilize them after formation, it will be instinctual. It’s worth it if it will save me years on my progress.”
“Mike, I have unlocked all data pertaining to Jeff’s bloodline, and he is correct. If he does this manually, he will have much greater control of his pathways. Somehow he also instinctively knew how to stop the process from immediately blasting through his channels, rendering him unconscious. It is part of his bloodline to be able to control and know how the human body functions with mana better than the others, but he should not be able to utilize bloodline skills until his core is completed.”
I stood there in shock for a moment. I could see exactly what he was doing in his core. He was guiding blue mana into a Dyson sphere pattern over and over again, slowly hardening the outer part of the core. Sim was guiding the origin mana alongside it to create a double helix of both types. It was beautiful. The intricate detail was amazing. Runes were being formed at a microscopic level. This was far more advanced than the cores both Alec and Cookie had developed.
“At the rate required to achieve his objective, it should take just over 34 hours to complete the process,” Sim said.
Jeff slowly spoke but in a tone that was very firm. “Dad... Please leave. You can watch the process through your sight or however you do it, but I need to focus. Having you here standing over me is distracting.”
I immediately turned to walk out. As I was leaving, I made sure to whisper, “Love you, buddy. You got this!”
The next day and a half was stressful. Not just because of Jeff, but because I knew the meeting was coming up and I still hadn’t decided what to do about quite a few things. The sub-admins that already had larger than normal channels, allowing a single parent to become a hero, should we create another facility to accommodate more heroes? These were all things I really wanted to get Jeff’s opinion on.
While Sim was helping guide Jeff with his mana channels and core creation, we worked out which skills to allow people to adjust. The list was a much more manageable amount. Sim would then configure their sub-attributes for them. She was basing them on what they needed for their class and which attributes they chose to add a point to.
Strength
Agility
Intelligence
Endurance
Dexterity
Constitution
Wisdom
Charisma
Perception
Luck
Willpower
All the other attributes will be hidden, and Sim will help adjust them as points are allocated or as skills increase. If someone meditates and increases a mental ability, they may earn additional points in intelligence, wisdom, and willpower. Then Sim would adjust all the sub-stats to fit exactly what they had achieved.
“Mike, the process is almost complete. Jeff is finishing the last few connections and should be done in about 30 seconds.”
I hurriedly activated divine sight to see his final connections. As I was watching, I could see many convergence points throughout Jeff’s body explode with blue light. Sim had told me that these points were areas Jeff was able to focus his power. There was still no definitive answer on what his bloodline was capable of, but it was the Blue/Water/Relaxation bloodline. Jeff had so many convergence points that I was shocked. When I examined Cookie, she had way fewer, and I didn’t even remember if Alec had more than one or two.
Jeff walked out of the room, and he looked like a new person. Not just physically, but his demeanor and his aura. There was no comparison to the child that started this process. His body had grown. He was apparently six inches taller. His muscles had filled out, and he looked like he was 25 now. He had a look to him that made you feel like you were safe, both physically and mentally. His aura was so much more powerful than before. I was in awe of the man that stood before me.
“It worked. I was able to open every hidden node and maximize both types of mana. Origin and blue mana flow in perfect harmony through all of my channels.”
“Do you know what your bloodline is? Or at least what it does?” I asked.
“I instinctively know that I am the first human to fully awaken a bloodline. Mine will allow me to manipulate emotions, to de-escalate situations just by my presence, and I can also manipulate water. There will be many offshoots of my bloodline that will grant partial abilities, but you were right, I did receive all of the blue portion of yours. I can sense others with the capability to harness a blue bloodline. Yours has many aspects that I cannot understand, but your blue is just as strong as mine.
Because I can manipulate emotions, I can also help guide bloodline activation. Sim will still have to guide the origin mana through the channels when someone activates a bloodline, but I can help with the emotional aspect. That is what causes the entire process to start initially.”
“Sim,” I said, “can you now grant blue bloodlines during the system initialization?”
“I can grant all four of the current activated bloodlines. With the data received and with the new understanding of the exact process to open all available nodes, I am able to impart the bloodlines to select individuals. If before the system is implemented, we are able to locate the other six bloodlines, those should give enough data to allow imparting as well. However, when they awaken and which form of the bloodline they receive will not be controllable.”
“Okay, well, at least that’s taken care of. They seem pretty powerful too. Jeff looks like a freakin’ stud now.”
“I do have some more good news about my bloodline. I’m able to help finalize Alec and Cookie’s bloodline activations. Hopefully, I can help fix their nodes and wake them both up.”
I couldn’t believe what he just said. Does he really have the ability to wake them up? To fix whatever problems they had with the nodes? I turned and ran up to him, giving him the biggest hug we had shared in many years.
“Do it!” I told him.
