Chapter 4 - Deal

"Welcome, to my lair, humans! I am the Destroyer, the Shatterer of Nations, Atlas!" I said in a deep voice. "No, that sounds cringy..."

"Humans... I am the Giant Serpent, why are you in my abode?" I practiced again. I could hear them coming closer and closer, and I still had no idea of what to say. I needed a good impression, and yet I had no idea how to get one!

Finally, I saw the humans entering, and as I had guessed, they were two relatively young women. Quite beautiful at that, but then again, I am not interested in humans anymore.

One had long blonde hair and the physique of a frail princess, but I could tell she was a magician of sorts, probably a priest. Meanwhile, the other woman had short red hair and was much beefier, holding a greatsword in both of her hands.

It was somewhat funny for a moment, as they didn't even see me for a bit. I know I've become quite in tune with the surrounding, but to not even see my blue scales compared to the red walls makes me somewhat depressed.

When they did finally see me, they started shrieking like little girls... which I guess fits them. It makes sense for anyone to scream when they see the great me though, so I won't judge. I'm just that cool.

"Welcome to my humble abode, humans..." I said. My voice was high for a giant snake monster, but I don't really care. The girls soon stopped shrieking after a while, or more importantly, seeing me tied up real good.

It took a while for them to calm down, but nonetheless, they finally did. The skinnier girl walked forward and knelt in front of my body, not daring to look at me in the eyes. "Great Evil One! I beseech you, help me with my goal!"

I stared at her for a good dozen of seconds. She began fidgeting under my gaze, however, the beefier girl stared at me straight back with a challenging look.

"What's your problem, snake? Too tied up to even talk?" She asked after a while of silence on my part. The skinnier girl panicked and tried to get her to apologize, but the beefy woman refused to listen to good reason.

"Stop, Clara! We need its help!" she shouted as she repeatedly prostrated to me.

I laughed. They both stopped and looked at me. I couldn't help but laugh even harder. It had been such a long time since I had seen humans that I almost forgot how stupid they can be.

"I would love for you girls to entertain me for a while longer, alas, I am somewhat tired of this... confinement," I said, moving my arms slightly in order to show them.

The entire cave rumbled with my movement but didn't give out. I had tried far harder and nothing had happened, so I was confident the cave would hold now that my salvation was so close.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The frailer girl shook slightly for some reason, but her eyes revealed a burning look filled with determination. My favorite gaze, the one of a person ready to give up anything for their goal.

"Tell me, girlie, what is it you want?" I said, straining my entire body to the limit to lower my upper body all the way down, my face now less than 10 meters away from her.

She closed her eyes for a moment and clenched her fists, and when she opened them she half-yelled, "I wish for you to help me take back my kingdom!"

----------------------------------------

The monster's gigantic face was scarily close to me. So close, in fact, I could feel it's breath on my entire body. Although calling this thing's breath a tornado would be quite accurate.

Even just one of its pupils was larger than my entire body. It looked human if you were to ignore the snake-like lower body starting from the waist and its teeth-filled mouth.

I couldn't help but hold my breath after saying what I wanted. However, the monster didn't seem fazed at all by the request as it looked at me in the eyes once again.

I shivered. I couldn't help it. Looking into its eyes was like staring at a primordial demon that conducted more slaughters than seconds I have lived. However, I could also feel a tinge of absolute reason, the same reason I always felt whenever I looked at my father's eyes. The eyes of someone who will do anything to get what they want.

"Is that all?" It asked. I gulped as I nodded. Clara looked somewhat alarmed but had the decency to stay out of this. Words could not describe how thankful I felt for her efforts at controlling her hot-headedness.

Its massive body leaned back, away from me and back into its original positions. The chains that had been furiously trying to drag it back relaxed as they coiled themselves around the giant.

"Very well. Since you've stated what you want, you should know what I also want, correct?" It asked. If one were to ask me, it's voice was similar to that of a woman, and yet, it's human body obviously seemed male, which made me question its gender. However, that was not the problem.

"Of course, uh..." I stopped for a second, trying to figure out what to call it.

Seeing my dilemma, the monster quickly said, "You can call me Atlantis or Atlas. Since we will be allies soon, I should warn you that merely knowing my name, if discovered, will instantly make those crazed weirdos come looking for you."

"Crazed weirdos...?" I asked, unsure. Albeit reluctantly, Atlas explained with a face that seemed to have chewed on horse shit.

"Worshipper of Destruction, Chaos Followers, Massacre Priests... I don't know what you call them these days, but back before I was sealed, those guys would always try to turn me and my siblings into deity-like figures and use our 'wills' as an excuse to try to destroy the world. I erased a couple hundreds of their temples once after one of them dared to claim I am the absolute God. Such blasphemy!" Atlantis yelled as its eyes turned red.

"Anyways... I'm assuming you know that I obviously want to get free. I can swear upon my existence that I will conquer your kingdom back for you should you free me and never take any actions against me." Atlantis stated.

I don't know what made me, but my very soul seemed to resound with his voice. "I, Princess Maria Jading, agree to Lord Atlantis' deal!"

A blue flame appeared out of nowhere, consuming both me and Atlantis in it. Clara screamed but stopped after a second. The flame was gone just as quickly as it appeared.

"What was that!?" Clara yelled. "It's a Soul Contract. Break it, you will disappear. The same holds true for me though." Atlantis laughed. I felt like I had been somehow cheated, but I don't know how.
