Chapter 3 - L Beuties

Chapter 3 - L Beuties

It has been 12 years ever since I was 'reborn', as some people could say. During this time, other than making up bad jokes and trying to entertain myself by watching the walls, I didn't really do anything.

There really is no way around it, unless I somehow find a savior of sorts, I simply cannot get out of here. I know as a fact that, rather than being sealed in an impossible-to-complete dungeon, I was sealed inside of a hidden one, where very few people know it even exists.

I have tried using every ability I possess to free myself. Fire breaths capable of melting any metal, acid that can kill a dragon in less than a minute, I even tried to bite the chains after a particularly annoying failure, but all that came out of it was me breaking a couple teeth and getting more frustrated.

I can regenerate basically any wound, even if my body is torn into a thousand pieces, however, I cannot heal boredom. Alas, today, I finally saw a glimmer of hope.

It was a normal day, or whatever time it was since I have no reference points to actually know the time. I was in a half-asleep state when I heard some very, very small roars coming from far away.

I had heard these roars a couple times before, but this time, it was different. They sounded pained, angry. After a couple hours, the roars stopped and I could hear a somewhat louder 'thump' noise.

Praying to Father, I silently repeated to myself, "You can get out... You can get out... Just play it right..."

As minutes passed, I felt a tension I never felt before. It's the kind of tension before receiving your test results, and knowing your life depends on it. Who these people were, if they were people at all, would determine if I regained my freedom or not, hence, being tense was normal.

As the footsteps drew closer, I could hear loud laughter and giggles. Despite gaining a body with senses far exceeding anything I could have imagined as a human, I was by no means Father, an omnipotent and omnipresent being. I too had limits.

I could make out that the voices belonged to two girls, relatively young too. They sounded human too, which was... not great, as humans and greed are often synonyms, but I hope I can offer them something in exchange for my freedom. If not, then I'll just eat them up, as despite being able to feed on mana, I still enjoy worldly delicacies...

----------------------------------------

We had come very far since our darkest days. Despite all the struggles we went through, we finally succeeded. We conquered a dungeon!

I was born a princess, however, after my father was dethroned by our uncle, I was the only survivor of the ensuing slaughter.

As a mere 12 years old, I was reduced to begging and stealing. For 4 years I lived this life until Clara found me.

Despite being a commoner, Clara was an exceedingly smart and learned person, however, she was mainly a warrior. She saved me from some thugs that had cornered me and gave me a better life.

Soon, we drew closer and closer. We ate together, trained together, fought together, and at one point in time, even began sleeping together.

After a long time, I told her everything about myself. Of how I was a princess and how my uncle was the king. She made it our dream to take back what was rightfully mine.

We decided that our first step in the journey needed to be conquering a dungeon. It isn't unheard of, but should we succeed, the money and fame we could receive would allow us a chance to go against my uncle.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Finally, a year later and much, much training, we finally defeated the dungeon boss. It was a huge chimera with four heads, each head possessing a different element.

It had been a very tough fight. Thanks to my early training in magic, I was a decent mage, especially since I possessed both the fire and light attribute, and this was mainly the reason why we won.

Clara is a warrior through and through. She doesn't have a beefy appearance, however, her muscles hide an explosive strength. Wielding a large broadsword, she held the Manticore at bay whilst I whittled it down with fire magic and at the same time healed her.

By the time the battle was over, I fell to my knees, breathing hard and sweat rolling down my forehead. Clara too looked tired, however, it did nothing to deter her natural charm.

With a loud laugh, she ran over to me and picked me up in a hug and spun me around. "We did it! We did it, Maria!"

Laughing, I answered softly, "Yes... We did..." However, I felt something was wrong since from what I heard after you defeat the dungeon boss, the dungeon should just... disappear, after rewarding the conquerors with a dungeon core and all the accumulated treasures it slowly created through its existence.

Soon, Clara noticed this too. She set me down with a stone face and looked around. After a little bit, she walked over to one of the walls and narrowed her eyes looking at it.

Soon, her eyes widened as she muttered, "What... What is this?"

After a while of trying to find out just what Clara saw, Maria finally discovered it too. Letting out a small gasp, she couldn't help but cry out, "That's the Great Evil One's mark!"

Confused, Clara asked, "The Great Evil One? Who is that fucker?"

Taking a deep breath, Maria explained, "Back when I was still a princess, my father would always tell me stories about the history of our kingdom. Many, many years ago, titans of immense power roamed the earth along with mighty heroes. The Great Evil One was one of those titans, even considered one of the strongest."

Narrowing her eyes, Clara nodded and gestured for Maria to continue. Maria bit her lips as she spoke in a hard voice, "Well... The Great Evil One was eventually sealed away by a group of powerful heroes. Legends say that, in their battle, the entire country was devastated. Right before being sealed, the Great Evil One cursed all the heroes along with several other powerful entities about to be sealed. Together, they sent all the heroes to another dimension, never to return."

Letting out a small 'oooh', Clara nodded with wide eyes. "Well, let's go and see it! If it's truly sealed, we can easily kill it and earn amazing loot!"

Lightly punching Clara in the gut, Maria berated, "Are you stupid? That's a legendary demigod we're talking about! It could kill an army in a single breath, and back then, the average soldier was stronger than today's elite royal guards!"

Rubbing the back of her head, Clara laughed awkwardly. Maria sighed but her eyes still burned with longing. She looked at Clara deep in the eyes as she grabbed her hand tightly. "... This may be our only chance."

Suprised, Clara asked, "What? Why?"

Maria closed her eyes for a moment in reminiscence before opening them up again and explaining, "Before being sealed, the Great Evil One made a vow. It promised to fulfill any request of anyone who could free it..."

Hearing this, Clara couldn't help but grasp Maria's hand right back. Nodding wordlessly, the two girls entered a large, hidden tunnel that opened after solving a small puzzle.

As they walked through this tunnel, they both couldn't help but admire the spectacular craftsmanship. Images of great beings seemed to appear and fade away in a breath's time, entire stories drawn inside of these beautiful halls.

After a very long walk, they finally entered a large room. It was very dark in here, so dark, they couldn't see their own noses.

"Maria! Are you there?" Clara called out as the two held hands. "Yeah, I'm here." Maria nodded, even though she knew Clara couldn't see her.

Together, they kept walking. Soon, the two arrived in front of a large wall. Seeing it, Clara couldn't help but frown as she shouted, "Great Evil Oneeee, where areee youuuuu?"

A loud rumbling noise echoed through the whole room as the wall shifted back a little. Seeing this, Maria couldn't help but gasp as several lights turned on in the room, revealing the true entity of the wall.

Maria cried out in fear as a monster hundreds of meters tall revealed itself. With the lower body of a snake and the upper body of a human, the monster looked at the two ant-sized girls with a cold gaze.

"Welcome to my humble abode, humans..."
